If the picture is terrible then the source must be terrible, may not even be HD. Press info on the remote thrn u will know what is the source resolution.

Even using iFlix though not full HD also looks decent to me.

i assure u it's fine on the smart tv as i have OBLIVION working on tv's kodi.

i think it's just u r not familiar with the steps or did not get the zip correct or tv kodi failed to read yr usb.

.. re-read post #1192 in kodi thread, type in the long string, get the zip on pc->usb.
(file is named Oblivion Streams.zip, 324KB.)

.. plug in usb into tv usb drive.

.. open up kodi and install with settings/install from zip.
make sure that zip shows up and u install it with the usual method.
give it a few seconds, u should see the message "oblivion addon enabled".
then go activate/open in under video addons.


potential issue:

depending on yr thumbdrive/ext hdd, tv's kodi may NOT be able to read it as it is sensitive to some brands/formating.

if the zip file of usb does not appear when trying to install it, u will need do something extra.
u will first need to copy that zip onto a folder inside the tv.
do that with es file explorer, look a folder that kodi can read, copy/paste it there.
then go back to kodi and install with that file rather than USB.
as u can see, knowing kodi and es file explorer are key to getting kodi work well on the tv.
i have it working well, not even using android box much for kodi.

I use VPN with usa geolocation to get usa playstore....

M'sia playstore don't have the STARZ APP...

However the starz app have prblem with playback... playback error...

Other app like Netflix us, hulu is fine

My friend use the same starz app with samsung smart tv (not android) able to watch...

Just want to know if somebody out there able to use the starz app with ue630x tv?

ah, that makes sense.

it probably means unlike netflix, starz has not ironed out some issues with the tv maker, not ready for this tv.

Seem that is the reason, i just thought maybe i did something misplace such as that... if someone able to watch movie using the Starz App...

After using Time 100Mbps confirm that it can run 4k with multiple devices on, never regretted the upgrade from Maxis 10Mbps at almost same price!

To see if you are running 4k press display on the remote then can see the resolution.

You all must try AVATAR 4K.... the display of 4K for the movie is awesome.... I use KODI to watch it from my hdd...

I just bought Sharp LC-50UE630x and have problems with detection WD Passport Ultra / HD Portable. 3TB WD Passport Ultra can't be read in Sharp and I've tried with the three USB ports.

I've also tried restarting Sharp but still don't want to read my HD Portable. finally i tried with different capacity is 2TB and the results can be read in Sharp but when i replace the HD Portable with the same capacity 2TB problem occurs again is not read then i tried to restart but the results are equally not read then i tried in other ways of unplug HD Portable and turn off the TV and unplug the power cord and then insert it again and turn on the TV after show Home Screen i try plug my Portable HD then now can be read

So every time I replace the HD Portable always use this way and this makes me very uncomfortable

And i had a problem with the application, Google Play not show google chrome and JOOX then i decided to install manually. Google Chrome shortcut not show in Home Screen and JOOX shortcut show in Home Screen but when i run JOOX the dispay in portrait not landscape

whether here there is encountered the same problem with me? i need solution

the issues u raised are known.

firstly, tv's are not built with full media players; their capabilities are somewhat limited. some tv's do a better job than others.
sharp tv usb ports, from what i read, operate on a low power basis and are sensitive to formatting and partitioning types.
can't read large HDD with lots of folders and files; max i think is 2TB.
one possible way to get round it is to install es file explorer (from playstore) and play from there.

secondly, the android tv is not a full fledged android box. it can do most of the common stuff incl side load apps but not all of them. some are blocked by the security feature; some phone apps don't work well. sideloaded apps typically do not show up in the launcher; u need to go to settings option to access them. however, whatever is in playstore will work well, incl youtube and kodi, and will be displayed in the launcher.

personally, i like the androidtv for its simplicity. i only have a few apps installed but they work very well. for playback and others, i use a separate android box.
