Nope, that is definitely not how HDMI-ARC works. Probably a hardware incompatibility or an issue with one or both hardware. Samsung Tv + Samsung HT connected via HDMI-ARC. Currently have 3 devices connected to the HDMI-IN ports on the TV and one HDMI-ARC connection to the HT. All sounds are automatically routed from the TV to the HT and out the speakers... Regardless of input source.

P.S. IMO, soundbars.... Never liked em.. biggrin.gif

I also think it should be hardware incompatibility issue here.
Conclusion, if you need HDMI-ARC, better get both devices (TV and soundbar) in same brand.

Yes, manufacturers and their proprietary tech... IMO, the best option (at the cost of space & to some, aesthetics) would be having a dedicated AVR + speakers setup. As a decent AVR would have support for the most AV tech.

I can see the TV having issues but the soundbar having trouble with HDMI-IN sources is unusual. Unless it's an unsupported audio format. Does the soundbar work normally with multiple devices plugged in and the ARC feature disabled?

Yes, it work.
The problem only when those external devices plug into either TV or soundbar HDMI ports, and between TV and soundbar connected using HDMI ARC. rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif confused.gif confused.gif confused.gif

Hi guys,

Has anyone installed any VPN for the UE630X on the TV itself?

And is that a working alternative to putting a dns at the router?

Doing this to find a solution to allow netflix usa and other blocked content on kodi to load.

Thanks!

I see

but what I wanted to know really was, assuming netflix does not go on a quest to block them, is that the right method to use the VPN?

Is it just that simple or is there another correct way to install/run it?

Thanks

if there is no block, a simple usa DNS will do.

previously, that was the case, all of us had it good - for a while only.

if there is block, even paid VPN can't do it, like now.

Hi guys,
Has anyone tried to remote view your sharp UE630X using any software like TeamViewer or Mobizen from laptop?
I know most of you will say use air mouse, which is the best option.
Reason for my asking is:
1. Just wondering if anyone has tried this.
2. More efficient control from my laptop when configuring Kodi and other apps.

I will appreciate any sharing even if no one has done this.

Hi, I would like to know does 50UE630X supports 4K HDR, has an IPS screen with good viewing angles & what is the motion rate? It is smooth during fast scenes without any motion bluring & is it 120hz native panel?

In a dilema to choose between the Sharp 50UE630X & Sony 49X7000D? Or any other better alternatives below 3K range?

Purchasing by the end of November.

Thanks for your input. : )
*
no 4k ips in 50" as i know lg (worldwide largest ips maker) cut the 4k panel in 49" only.

use finger swipe to confirm.

Is it worth it? The content will be few and it might not even follow what the supposed future 8k standard will be.

No, not if dun hv that kind of money to blow. biggrin.gif

But the upscaling in this 80inch is v good, i must say.

To my eyes, for same video, it came out as good if not better than the 50 and 50 inches.

I see. Im planning to get a 4K TV in the next few months. Still undecided on what to get. I prefer bigger size compared to other features. 80 incher would be nice but I don't want to pay more to because of a feature that I don't really use like the 8K resolution. Any recommendation?

The ue630x series come in 50, 58 and 65 inches. Uhd 4k, no hdr.

The 80 inch is a diff class, 8k.

Perhaps u can check out the 65 inches model, should be cheaper now.

U r right to say 8k material is lacking, in fact, almost nonexistent.

Even 4k is not common at this time, very limited.

But like i always say, a 4k tv with good upscaling is worth it if u play mostly hd and bluray videos.

Personally, i am also very pleased with the 630x for another reason - the google androidtv that's built in.

As a heavy androidtv user, i find it extremely useful to able to sideload my fav apps in the tv, no need a separate box.

My own apps plus those from playstore provides more than enough to watch everyday, mostly in HD.

The usb playback function in this tv is not so good, sensitive to some hdds, won't read.

For that, i use my android box.

Becos the series was launched in 2015, hdr not in market then.

It is also cheaper than those with newer models with hdr.
