Not much changes until replacement model comes along.

SenHeng selling the following price

Sony 55" Android UHD TV SNY-KD55X8000C - RM 4199
Sharp 50 inch Android UHD TV SHP-LC50UE630X - RM 3999
Sharp 58" Android UHDTV SHP-LC58UE630X - RM 5899

Is the Sony a worthy competitor to UE630X? Will be using to watch movie from NAS

Are you sure the size is enough for your room? How far are you sitting away from the TV?

After getting 58" I feel I made a mistake on settling for 58" instead of 65" or bigger. Hence the reason for me wanting to sell mine. From a distance of 16" I feel that the 58" look like 40".
*
I am sitting about 5 feets away from the TV as the TV will be installed at the 1st floor living room which is considerably smaller than my main living room and bedroom. I think the max i can go is 58inches ( I myself always prefer big TV but the viewing distance is not that suitable for big TV, will get dizzy rclxub.gif )

5 feet... i won't go anything >30in.

i find my 50in good for 8-10ft.

12-13ft, 58in will be good.

too near to too large a screen, and unlikely u have all hd/4k videos 100%, your eyes will find it awful and even hurtful.
*
Gonna measure the distance later, and make sure that i test the tv at correct distance at showroom

Good idea, bring measuring tape to showroom to compare. 5 feet, I think max is 58# which will look like a cinema screen sitting so close lol... just make sure you watch mostly 4k or 1080p content as anything less will look pixelated.
*
Yup, from what i observe ( went to scout for some tv at Aeon yesterday ), 50inches looks just nice while 60inches will be quite big. Will only be used for streaming movies from NAS ( bdmv or min 1080p quality only )

Just took out the measuring tape, the distance from TV to couch is around 6 foot

Successfully streamed from my NAS to 58" Sharp UE630x, the TV upscaling is damn good, even 720p files came out clear and sharp. The netflix 4k UHD looked even better

need a reset.

just reset at settings or off/on power.

Is pressing the power off and cutting the power considered a reset? Once boot up u will see the sharp logo then is considered reset right? Actually the TV has been unable to connect to the wifi for 3days ( i turn it off everyday )

using remote on/off = standby, not power off.

unplug power = power off.

u can reset under settings, explore the options, impt.
if u still can't get it, then something may have messed up the wifi connection, need to redo at settings -dynamic/static ip, password, dns, etc.
*
My wifi connection is confirmed ok as i have pc, ipad and phones connected to it. Will do a settings reset later, suddenly can't netflix and kodi cry.gif

Kodi installed in the system is very smooth as well and the TV handled upscaling very well ( 720p 5gb files look good, unexpected as this is a 4k TV ). Btw, anyone using soundbar with this TV? Any recommended soundbar around RM2500

I doubt u can do that wireless direct to  tv.

I dont think the tv hardware is good enough.

I have tried streaming with basic samba via kodi, works ok for small files.

Cant do large files, bmdv or 4k.

Well, bdmv and 4k was also hard using an androidbox.

So, the bottleneck may be the tv, the box, the router or distance too far... i cant be sure.

Wont know unless i spend more money on new equioment to experiment.

But not worth it now since 4k material is still very rare.
*
Yup 4k content is coming up slowly but the once you have seen 4k there is no turning back, going to get a soundbar to complement this tv

Just bought a Qmedia4 soundbar ( only got optical input ) so i connected the TV optical output to my soundbar and to my surprise there is no sound at all, optical output already set to PCM at TV. Btw when playing using netflix there is sound coming from my soundbar, all of my media files are played using Kodi and there is no sound coming out from the soundbar, anyone can help? Currently using 3.5mm plug to output sound from TV to the soundbar

something i don't follow - "use the tv optical output to sound bar with 3.5mm plug"?

u r using a toslink->3.5mm convertor?

if soundbar has toslink input, why not use a full toslink?

just tv toslink ->soundbar toslink.

also, toslink is DIGITAL, not PCM.
*
1. QMedia4 <---> TV ( Optical/Toslink ), no sound when playing files using Kodi/Youtube but when using netflix to play the 4k content there is sound, normal full HD content no sound

I am currently using the 3.5mm stereo plug to output sound from TV to my soundbar ohmy.gif

Or the TV Toslink output only can output sound using the built in media player? sweat.gif

*Qmedia4 cannot decode DTS, the manual already stated need to set the Toslink output to PCM in order to get sound
