Dear Maxis,
Kindly help to unsubscribe & block any SMS service from this number 23238. On 26 Sept 2015, I receive a SMS spam from them and it charge me RM1 for receiving it. Please help to unsubscribe/block and refund the money immediately. According to the sms content, it will charge me RM1 WEEKLY for receiving such useless scam. My Maxis account number is 1544327776 Thank you. |

I received this message and charged on my bills. I already replied the message STOP ADEWI and another message UNSUBSCRIBE to 23288. Before proceed messages always a message pop up that it may cause charge. what charge it suppose to mean? Please help double check the cancellation and to get the refund if possible. I received the same spam SMS from 23288 on 21-Nov-2015. "RM2. (Excl. GST) M-Novel Fantasi: Successul reg. You will be charged RM2.00/Week. 5-7 MMS/week. To cancel, send STOP AFANTASI3 to 23288." Immediately I called to Maxis careline 123 to block/unsubscribe the service on the same day. I was told by CS representative that the 23288 service had been unsubscribed with immediate effect. However, I still able to receive those MMS from 23288 until now!!!  Kindly help to unsubscribe & block any SMS service from this number 23288. My Maxis account number is 821960671 Thank you. Dear Maxis,
I got a message from 23268 on 23/11/2015 that charge me RM2/week which I did not subscribe. "RM2. (Excl. GST) Migrant Video: Successful reg.Access the video at http://mm.net.my/maxnet/migrantIndo2/ Charged RM2/week.To cancel send STOP MIG2 to 23268." Please help me to terminate this service immediately and block this service in future as I didn't not subscribe and I won't subscribe any sort of service in my account. H/P Number: 012-3xxx120 |

Kindly help to unsubscribe & block any SMS service from this number 23288. I received a SMS spam from them without any subscribe and it charge me RM1 for receiving it. Please help to unsubscribe/block and refund the money immediately. According to the sms content, it will charge me RM1 WEEKLY for receiving such useless scam. My phone number is 012618xxx5. Thanks. My company business line all receiving these tricky Download and Content subscrib SMS , some number has been charged up to RM200, before my company MNP to Maxis these never happen number are 016-2166 xxx and 016-2133 xxx Recently my privet number receive the " RM2 M-Novel Fantasi 23288 " sms as well, it happen when i just change my package to Data plan, all the while before this i never use data service. 012-389 xxxx Thanks This post has been edited by ngeo88: Nov 24 2015, 02:38 PM |

The scam number is from Maxis and we ask Maxis to stop it. But why it charged user in the first place? RM1 multiply by let say 5 million user base will generate a handsome RM5 million per week for Maxis?
Few years back I've been receiving this kind of problem for months and paid thousands of ringgit on my bills without any refund. Maybe I'll just wait for bad karma to happen on whoever responsible in robbing me on broad daylight. I'm praying hard for this. |

Hi Maxis,
All these are just corrective actions, i.e. helping customer to unsubscribe and making refunds to customer ("out of good will??"). What about addressing the root of these problems instead of having customers coming to you to get a solution when they have noticed the problem? What about those customer who did not realized that they are being charged unscrupulously? I've been a victim of such scam before too, and when I ask you guys to show proof that I've made the purchase/subscription, none of you can actually firmly say and convince me that I've made such purchase. What baffles me is that since there are so many complaints on these auto-subscribing scam services, why does Maxis still partner with them to collect these "subscription fees" by billing such fees to our accounts? |

Kindly help to unsubscribe & block any SMS service from this number 23268. I received 3 SMS spams from them without any subscribe and it charge me RM2 for receiving each. Please help to unsubscribe & block and refund the money immediately. According to the sms content, it will charge me RM2 WEEKLY which i already get it 3 times for receiving such useless scam. I have the simialr problem.
Since 2 weeks ago, I've been receiving about 5 sms for different subscription. RM2 OR 3 each. Called Maxis few times, they told me will unsubscribe for me and will block the numbers. But I'm still receiving these from different numbers. And there's no solution that can really solve. What Maxis told me "The only this you can do is, call us everytime when you receive these." What kind of solution is this from Maxis? So everytime I have to call Maxis to do this? And before they unsubscribe for me, I've already been charged. And there's no refund from Maxis. The only way is to terminate my account or port out from Maxis? Please give me a solution. I'm not going pay extra money that I was not supposed to spent every months. |

As a big/huge telco company, seems this issue is never ending.
Supposedly there should be a TAC request for any kind of subscriptions. But instead, we were charged directly without us knowing/aware it in the first place until we received these 'unauthorized subscription' SMS or after checking the bills. And the standard answer was 'you must have surf a website and clicked a link, that's why you have been subscribed and charged'. When asked how is this possible, where's the log of these subscription transaction to prove it? None. From what I can see here: 1. Customer complains 2. Maxis will ask customer to send stopall or send stop to that shortcode. 3. Issue repeated with step 1 and step 2. What a disappointment!  |

My Maxis account number is 2141702346 Kindly help to unsubscribe & block any SMS service from this number 28833 , 23239 and 23399. , I receive a NON STOP SMS spam from them and it stated charge me RM2 for the fees and i have not been subsribe to any services from them. they said i activate the scam service myself because i stop the scam by sending stop sms in the last.
pathetic attempt by support, just check my printscreen. they got the name of credit receiving company yet they do nothing, this is confirm malicious scam, are maxis in it for commision? why everytime ppl need to go complain to mcmc to get simple thing done, why use a telco service also such troublesome. maybe only social media can have effect, new customer have to be warn. Why cant maxis protect its customers from being ripped off by this scam. Yet they accused its customers for clicking on the link when some did not even received the sms. Is maxis enriching this scammer and themselves. Your customers are complaining. Just disclose the company that sending the sms and we will take it up with MCMC if Maxis is helpless in protecting its customers.

i received few unauthorized sms, i did replied STOP ALL but still receive other content from other numbers. i went to Maxis Seremban Centre, officer told me he only can help me reply STOP ALL, can't get the refund, advice me complaint to MCMC. why don't same as other telco using TAC to confirm subscription? This is really weird, I have called MAXIS before on this issue , do not experience this on DIGI as I have DIGI line also.

I could like to thanks your blocked and unsubscribe action for past few weeks I called customer service seeks for help. I get those spammer messages 27200,23239,23268,23399,28832 I hope too maxis can make refund for me for this kind of spammers message! The last three months it happened cost me on Jun RM31, July RM54 & Aug RM43! You may check the bill from your system. In Aug bill, I just aware the chargers from spammer when I secondly help my mother to settle bill. This number user is my mother phone number which the postpaid started sign on Jun. Really need your help to block and unsubscribe from the spam msg as per picture attach. This has been going on for a few months and I just change my bill to itemise bill and notice this content and subscription. This should not have happpen in the 1st place as I do not subscribe to any of these. I really hope for maxis to refund me back for all the spam msg I have been receiving. Outrageous!
The original topic already not accurate. It is now RM 2 per message.  Anyone know how the hell this ended up being subscribed? I can't even find any messages from 23288 in my phone and its not on my block list. This is Maxis scamming us at its core. If never found out, they scam RM 120 from each customer per year. Utterly ridiculous! I just called Maxis helpline and the lady said she cannot help cancel it. Need another department to call me back. So damn difficult to cancel this thing. |

This kind of scam been happening since a decade ago but MCMC and telco dont want to solve the problem but still continue allowing them to do it …
These scammers merely using software to fake our numbers to subscribe to the service. To be honest who will still use shortcode to subscribe content anymore in 21st century. Telco and MCMC merely opening loop hole for scams to exist by allowing charging via shortcode. I think if we dont complain in a way telco also earn some $$ from those scammers thats why keep quiet…. SMS 23223 nonsense. It's pretending to be part of facebook as 2 way authentication SMS service as well when u logout and login again. Force u to turn the service on to receive sms and pay. Hi maxis, i just received this sms and wanted to know if anything has been charged to my account (1218328589)
Below is the sms. RM0.00. TAC for your English Novel88 subscription service is (6 numbers). TAC is valid for 2 minutes. Reminder! DO NOT share your TAC with anyone. Maxis/Hotlink will never request for your TAC. |

Why cant telco make it mandatory opt in for all these sms content charges? or kill it once and for all …
I believe 10/10 of these are illegitimate charges as no biz will be so outdated to use this form of sms way of charging service anymore … this is used during the 90s before smartphone goes mainstream Esp this macrokiosk, highly suspicious … |

Hi Maxis,
My wife is using a Surf & Talk Plan number on a dumbphone, she often deletes her SMS (it's a dumbphone, small-sized inbox) so there's no trace of where this particular SMS charge is coming from. 32001 - AHEAD SMS 0374922123 Tried googling it but I was unable to find info. It's just an RM0.30 charge, but the funny thing is it's only appearing once in a while..
How do I stop it? Does sending an SMS STOP to 32001 can stop it indefinitely? |

Some of these shortcodes come from 1 provider e.g. macrokiosk, and they basically no governance allow anyone to subscribe to it with no question asks. Alot of scammers/spammers just use their service. Telco also dun want to care cause they are beneficiary as well. So, telco earns money (provide network svc), provider like macrokiosk earns money (provide platform svc), scam/spammers win the most money … loser = end users. |
