QUOTE(dlct87 @ Jun 9 2016, 05:25 AM) shouldn't the pricing will be like this 1. Non-FE - stock/normal cooler on Ref board (8pin) 2. FE 3. Non-FE - Custom/High End cooler (Strix/AMP/Frozr V) on Custom board (8+ X pin) This post has been edited by sai86: Jun 9 2016, 08:21 AM |

It won't matter cause all the custom cooler non reference design on the market seems to oc the same or less than fe. And I see the main gaming and gigabyte ones costing more in Seoul atm.
Some ppl complained Malaysia pricing on the cards let me tell u in seoul the cheapest card is around 950 usd here so Malaysia actually have quite good pricing. |

I guess will have to wait out this "frenzy/honeymoon" period so that the price will calm down and hopefully, go down, even only for a bit will be good enough

MSI got a normal ref for 1080 - black ref cooler but 8 pin only = . Since nvidia implement a very harsh restriction on thermal/voltage/overclocking potential, if the gpu put under water, = lower temp = can we push past 2.2ghz barrier and beyond? (restrict by voltage?) |

QUOTE(marfccy @ Jun 9 2016, 04:41 AM) So I'm guessing (speculate lol) non-FE will be around 2k-2.2k depending on brand and cooler. Meaning 2nd hand 980Ti still can be bought at <RM1.7k otherwise just buy a new 1070. Really wish GPU as powerful as 970's price will be pushed to sub RM800, that will give tons of GPU power to affordability range. May that be 2nd hand 970, 390X or new 1060 idk. I think the RX 480 will be price around RM1k. |

Haha but seoul pay higher Some ppl complained Malaysia pricing on the cards let me tell u in seoul the cheapest card is around 950 usd here so Malaysia actually have quite good pricing. If we can start having 3k starting pay now then affordable no longer an issue |

QUOTE(CPURanger @ Jun 8 2016, 11:18 AM) At the moment 1070 or 1080 is rare. I want to get non foundation card, hopefully cheaper. how big is the mornitor ??? 42in ?Right now, monitor is available for purchase. OK. I am aiming for 1440p Gsync with 144hz. Think of getting Acer XB271HU, 27" can still fit my desk. It cost >RM3K, rather expensive IMO, could probably buy a big TV. Hands already itchy... IMO 4K monitors is just not there yet, with 60hz refresh rate. Currently I think, 1440p and 4K monitors is early adopters' market. Limited choices and probably next 2 years or so will drop price maybe to RM2k region. Now I ponder 2 plans, Plan A, Buy XB271HU Monitor with GTX 1080 Estimate Cost RM6K++ Plan B, Buy 24" (1080p Gsync 144hz) Monitor with GTX 1070 (or lower spec GPU). Estimate Cost RM4K Choices, choices. |

QUOTE(sai86 @ Jun 9 2016, 09:40 AM) MSI got a normal ref for 1080 - black ref cooler but 8 pin only = . Nope. Gamers Nexus tried that with their frankenstein-ed 1080 card. Still can only run stable under 2.2. Anything beyond 2.2 is using LN2 already. Since nvidia implement a very harsh restriction on thermal/voltage/overclocking potential, if the gpu put under water, = lower temp = can we push past 2.2ghz barrier and beyond? (restrict by voltage?) Looks like no future rig of mine will be anything beyond 2 cards SLI after this. I'll just keep my Tri-SLI Titan X as a museum example of how things were before, and how Nvidia killed it. This post has been edited by stringfellow: Jun 9 2016, 03:39 PM |

Interesting, coz based on some Youtube videos during Computex, they have about 4 versions of GTX1080.Since nvidia implement a very harsh restriction on thermal/voltage/overclocking potential, if the gpu put under water, = lower temp = can we push past 2.2ghz barrier and beyond?
