went full retard and bought Asus MG279Q cannot wait for XB270hu  cry.gif long waiting period (up to 1 month) got Ass Creed Unity and DLC as free game bundle together

user posted image the box kinda retarded as well for missing the Q but its the same model

dunno worth it or not in terms of price . But dayummmm the moment playing BF4 at 144hz feels like playing call of duty , will I miss G-Sync or Freesync ?

I dont know but IPS + 144hz is a whole new experience for me at least .

I'm planning to get the Acer from IdealTech next month once I save enough cash. I didn't know about the one month wait, meaning I'll only get the screen in September?

I'm looking for 980ti reference but many place don't stock them anymore, mostly non-ref out there. Anyone tried using a 980ti non-ref in a Ncase M1?

Edit: Nvm, got the ref already.

But what disappointed me is the OC potential is so low. My old MSI 6G is better. And the score for 3dmark is the same for both card and pros of this card is more silent and more cooler. Should I RMA this card? cry.gif
*
You can RMA card because it doesn't OC well? I didn't know that!!

I got a Acer XB270HU 2 months back with none of the defects. I decided to risk it even after hearing all the horror stories in Amazon, I'm glad I did, such a sweet display.

I hope it'll last more than a year. Acer, you know.

I'm guessing it's e non reference cooler and reference cooler as well, but in MSI website, there is a 2 fan non reference 980 Ti and it isn't the Gaming. In that case I can assume it's a lousier cooling system compared to Gaming.

Looks like there are major price cut in US for both red and green GPU, hopefully that will translate to cheaper GPU here as well... RM2500 for 980Ti anyone?

I'm on 16GB without any disk cache. I find 8GB insufficient if a game and few web browser running in background.

Are you running 144Hz in Windows while on idle?

QUOTE(mattsynyster @ Jan 6 2016, 08:06 PM)
Just got the Zotac gtx970 dual fan .

Temp at idle sitting at 60 celcius

Previous Asus ROG Gtx 760 striker sitting at 42 Celsius idle because the heatsink is big

Now play gtav, my room feels like sauna.

I think the Dell has mDP an USB C ports, so I don't think they'll want to cheat on the colors on such expensive product. Their accurate colour means they're targeting video editors and design pros, not gamers.

Will love to have that OLED,4k,Gsync,144hz at RM3k. lol

Will the Taiwan earthquake affect the Pascal production?

i'm aware of that and do you recommend an aio wc or a custom wc?
*
QUOTE(llk @ Feb 23 2016, 11:09 AM)
If you want to watercool gpu custom wc is the only solution.
*
The corsair braket is compatible with 980Ti and AIO. EVGA and MSI got AIO 980Ti. Custom loop will be the best of course!

for instance, pick a gpu with a mid plate preinstalled (some models of evga and msi have it; better mosfet/vram cooling).
*
Thanks for the advice. I myself ever thought of doing WC but currently only have a ref 980ti.

QUOTE(horns @ Feb 24 2016, 09:18 AM)
maybe a good news to you: 980ti ref /titanx can use mid plate from some of evga 980ti models that still follow standard pcb layouts. adjustments to install bracket are needed (eg. in the case of kraken g10, maybe don't install the nzxt padding thing at the back of gpu pcb, and getting a set of washers to cope with additional thickness due to mid plate). you can get such a mid plate from taobao. (sold separately, cheap)

i use kraken g10 because it can be reused across generations of gpu. (it's just a bracket to hold things) when i used it with my 980ti ref, it was not even in the compatible gpu list yet. for those without mid plate, you can run the fan on bracket at full speed (don't use pwm; just connect it to mobo header; if you wanna keep using it by connecting the fan cable to gpu via a compatible y-cable, customize your fan profile accordingly with apps like msi afterburner).

edit: oh i think you need a 1mm copper shim also. check out these videos - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weV0FlahyDo , https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2SFSYl60jk

Thanks for the explanation. Will come in real handy when I attempt WC.

If 1080 is RM3400, then can expect 1080 Ti due next year to be RM4000-4600... right?

At these price I guess 1080Ti will be RM4.1k and RM4.5k for premium.

I enjoyed my 980 Ti for the past 11 months, so I don't mind its value is affected by the 1070 or 1080. Those who buy Pascal today will be the same too next year. Exciting times for GPU advancement.

Coming from a 280X previously, the 1080 gain isn't enough for me to upgrade, moreover I'm still gaming on 1440p.

May I ask, your current 280X is good enough for you to run every game on 1440 all high? (Am thinking to get an 1440p instead of 4k monitor, planning 1080 next month)
*
I'm on 980 Ti now, and it barely do 60fps in the poorly optimized The Division. I switched from 280X because it's not powerful enough for BF4 @ 1440p ultra.

hmm...gonna sell my r290 soon.....not sure gonna get GTX 1070 or r480....ofcus prices is my first priority........

I don't think the RX 480 is that much of an upgrade for R9 290, unless you really just need that extra bit ommph. The 1070 on the other hand, is quite bit of jump. I understand the price of the 480 is easier to swallow.
