After read some reviews, i can conclude...

Performance 1080 = 980 SLI
Power consumption = Less than 200W (500W PSU should be ok)
Temp = 100% load about 80C (need 3rd party cooler if want OC)
Overclockabilty = 10-15%
4k 60fps = No. 1080ti maybe...

Im waiting for Zotac GTX1080 AMP Extreme.

970 < 980 < 980ti < 1080

but.. if 970sli add in between... could it be...??

*used 970 can get around 1k now..few more week maybe around 800 only.   

Full specs of GTX1070 is out.

Good news; no 7.5GB vram bullshit like the 970 did with 3.5gb vram.
Bad news; it'll be more expensive than the 970 was on launch, in bolehland at least.

ultra settings 4k resolution tom clancy's the division at 42 fps... playable? yes, but it's not 60fps lets put it that way. but at ultra settings at that reso o_o; hm nice.
1080 is 25% faster than a 980ti if we were to roughly it up in terms of performance.

Let's put all this Nvidia P.R/Marketing/Business crap aside......

If the Founders (Reference) 1080 card is RM3,399 msrp when it hits locally,

YOU CAN EXPECT Custom OC Cards price to be Higher than THAT.

Nobody is gonna spend the time/money/R&D to build custom/OC cards & PRICE it below reference cards. That's basic business sense

yea, a powerful card can go longer cause it got the horsepower

getting the zotac for RM640, the cheapest? gtx 950

i'm playing world of warship mostly the gtx 950 is way more enough for that

at 1st thinking of getting used card like gtx960 but no good deals and i'm in very very bad luck mode now with everything breaking it's better get a new card with warranty so i can sleep well lol

Either go full on... wait for 1080 Ti

or go for 'value'... get the 1070. 

Reason; 1080 Ti will most likely give you 60fps at 4k on triple-A titles max settings. The 1080 still can't quite get there.

1070 on the other hand; when OC'd should come close to the 1080 which would make it an amazing value GPU; perfect for 1080p and 1440p gaming.

Scenario 1: You have a game that you play a lot but couldn't play at max settings at desired framerate - Upgrade
Scenario 2: You play games (DOTA2/CSGO etc.) that already maxed out using R280X - Don't upgrade
Scenario 3: You have too much money - Upgrade
Scenario 4: You have too little money - Don't upgrade
Scenario 5: You like the smell of new GPU and opening new boxes - Upgrade
Scenario 6: You get poisoned by the post on the forums - Upgrade

2.3k-2.5k i think

It is the usual story for TI version owners, too close to Next Gen.  You also know 1 year away from now Nvidia will burn the 1080 with 1080TI . Hope we can get a HBM version of the 1080TI . Well it is just how things go I guess.

I will simply slowly hunt for a second hand 1080 after it is out when some of us are changing brands or need cash .

At the moment 1070 or 1080 is rare. I want to get non foundation card, hopefully cheaper.
Right now, monitor is available for purchase.
OK. I am aiming for 1440p Gsync with 144hz. Think of getting Acer XB271HU, 27" can still fit my desk. It cost >RM3K,
rather expensive IMO, could probably buy a big TV. Hands already itchy... 

IMO 4K monitors is just not there yet, with 60hz refresh rate. Currently I think, 1440p and 4K monitors is early adopters' market. Limited choices and probably next 2 years or so will drop price maybe to RM2k region.

Now I ponder 2 plans,

Plan A,
Buy XB271HU Monitor with GTX 1080 Estimate Cost RM6K++

Plan B,
Buy 24" (1080p Gsync 144hz) Monitor with GTX 1070 (or lower spec GPU). Estimate Cost RM4K

Choices, choices.

Already purchase Acer XB271HU monitor (27"), now waiting for delivery. Let's hope the monitor is without defect. 

Next whether to buy 1070 or 1080, let's see...
