Anyone trying out Instant Interbank Fund Transfer (IBFT) through M2U? The fee (0.53) is supposed to be waived from today till 31-Dec. I tried but kept getting rejection code (0089). Ended up using GIRO costing 0.11.

Just sharing experience here...

I have gotten Ringgit Plus gifts in the past. I would say that they are legit, just that have to make sure their T&C is fulfilled...

On OCBC, I went to their branch 2 weeks ago, intending to place FD with free gifts. The bank promo with free luggage is supposedly till 30 Sept and I have received bank SMS. Ringgit Plus free luggage promo supposedly till end Nov (or Dec'15) based on email I received, but I haven't received SMS from Ringgit Plus. When I went to the branch, the girl told me can only redeem either one (Bank or RPlus) and both ends on 30 Sept... rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif I disagreed with her and she took out the promo booklets and showed me that she's right...in which she is. In my opinion, there's confusion here. I still feel with RPlus is legit but you have to make sure you have the evidence to support your claim.

As for me....I decided to forgo.... wink.gif

Today went to MBB branch. The branch manager was on urgent leave and the Premier Centre Service Manager met with me for a discussion in his office. The 4.5% step-up one is an Islamic product investing solely on their Islamic branch.

It is NOT capital guaranteed. But then he said Maybank do NOT guarantee even FD, it is by PIDM. Also amount under PIDM is 250k per account holder only. He showed me the brochure and allowed me one of the page only. As usual most banks do not give out full brochure claiming that it is for internal use only. doh.gif He then tried to get me on other products.

Anyway I still kind of thinking since capital and profit not guaranteed, not too comfortable with it. shakehead.gif

MBB has another promo for 3 months. Effective date 5/10 to 31/10. Step up with eff. rate of 3.93%.

The 5 + 5 mth FD is extended till 6/10.

I then went to withdraw the FD. The counter girl informed him and he came out to talk to me again over the counter trying to ask me to stayput or keep certain amt there. I still went ahead to withdraw the FD. biggrin.gif

Bankers cheque fee only RM0.53 cents. I split into 2 bankers cheque and paid RM0.53 X 2. rclxms.gif

Part 2: tongue.gif

Went to PBB to withdraw the FD. Bankers cheque RM0.68 each. But has to be from the FD. So that causes the BC's amount to be RM0.32 at the back and some 999 number in front ! doh.gif If I want to keep the nice principal intact, then have to pay RM6 for the BC.

Anyway, decided to save money and pay RM0.68 for the BC.

PBB has changed the second 6 mth step up to 4.28% (from earlier 4.08%). They honour'ed this one. Respect them on that. notworthy.gif So received more from this FD. PBB paid interest direct to the SA. biggrin.gif

Placed FD in AmBank for the 12 mth 4.2% promo. Received an umbrella and a mug. rclxms.gif

Then placed FD in HL for the 15 mth step up with eff rate of 4.26%. HL branch claimed they just received the brochure TODAY while in the brochure it said start Sept 1st ! doh.gif Weighted heavily on HL vs AmBank as the extra 0.06% is enough for a good dinner for 10. tongue.gif

I think so far for PIDM coverage, the HL 15 mth 4.26% is the best. rclxms.gif Monthly interest payment some more. rclxms.gif

OCBC 13 mth 4.2% still running but no more gift (called them to confirm).
