CB is now quoting TT rate for USD at RM 4.0645. On Monday I bought at RM 3.9590. A difference of about 0.1. That is some k difference for the amt I bought.  Luckily I did it on Monday. The volatility is scarely.

50k or more then can ask. the other person say 0.5k can ask for 0.185

Hard to say, you have to negotiate with them. BR keeps on changing the so called nego rate threshold limit between 50k and 100k. Different branch may tell you differently. Talk/call to them. 

For 50k, may just get 0.05% extra. But may not get also. 100k higher chances of getting. Nego with them.

Hi guys, OCBC called earlier today offer me FD in foreign currency.

According to the lady,

Min amount = RM 30K
Interest rate = 0.63% (normal rate for SGD, different currency is different) + extra 4% (this is the promotion they giving now). So total 4.63%

i say the likelihood of ringgit going up in 3 months is low given the current crisis. yes, exchange rate spread is a more important factor to consider. you may end up losing after converting from ringgit and then back to ringgit due to large spread.
