Hi guys, I applied for a HSBC credit card back in Dec 2021, and got the credit card delivered to me in March 2022. Since it's been so long I don't need the credit card anymore and so I didn't activate the card. May I know if I need to contact HSBC to cancel the credit card or it will become dormant by itself?
Normally it will be dormant till the day u activated the card at least this is what I experience unless there are changes.
Same case for my affin duo master card where I didn't activate cos I only using the visa. Same case for two of my rhb card that I never activated as I got it when I got home loan with rhb.
The girl told me that it's complimentary from bank to selected customer although I never apply for it. But of course I not sure whether the girl submit application without my consent or what
Anyway, as per my experience with both bank above, didn't activated the card shouldn't be an issue and you won't be charge with sst/annual fee etc etc and the card should remain dormant.
But as someone mentioned above, if you want to be safe and confirm then better call bank and said u want to cancel the card.
