which is the best hsbc card? i reckon visa signature for the 6x PPL access per year? just wondering how easy is it to get the waiver for annual fee?

interested in applying for the hsbc visa signature card. can i ask how the annual wee waiver works? i know for the fact that annual fee will only be waived if u swap once a month for 12 months. what about the annual fee for the first year? will I be charged once i activate my card?
