CS told me not to use ew..Not sure if they really exempt ew from the 3x, but using it on small ticket retail items just to be safe

Can cancel right away. If you leave it don't activate, SST may still be charged to you.

No more Sis. New rules SST can only be charged upon activation. But yeah, cancel right away if don't need the card anymore.

don't forget some banks auto-activate after certain months
so better cancel otherwise a lot of hassle later

they will still automatically activate for you after 3 months and charge SST accordingly but still waive it as per their promise on this mc
i also activate and sit inside the drawer
better activate and sit inside the drawer rather than later you found that one day they didnt auto waive the SST for you and the interest getting larger and larger that you thought the card already been cancelled but in fact it is still active

QUOTE(avinlim @ Aug 26 2020, 11:39 AM)
It will auto activate after 3mths. If you think just throw away your card will be safe, you are wrong. After months, you will find your ccris have miss-payment and late interest charges due to the small amount of sst on your card.

Always call bank to confirm the account close if you dont need the cc. Do not apply in the 1st place if you dont need the card.

Yea, if you have the active card which is not activated, better keep track of it if u do not cancel it. After years, who knows, it can surprise you.

Even 1 cent outstanding with bank can end up in disaster as reported by news some months ago...lol doh.gif so better be safe than sorry.

I didn't really keep track when the card was approved for me. Applied on 12-JAN-22, did the first transaction on 31-JAN-22, fulfilled the required minimum RM1K transaction (eWallet excluded) on 8-FEB-22 & received the RM600 pin SMS on 8-APR-22.

This RinggitPlus offer cannot use the required RM1000 spend on e-Wallet ?

3.4 The Retail Spend:
3.4.1 Includes local and overseas retail transactions (including online
transactions), standing instructions/non-online auto-billing, e-Wallet(s)
top up and insurance/takaful payment. Example of such e-Wallets are
Touch and Go, BigPay and Boost App. This list of e-Wallets is not
exhaustive and may be subject to change from time to time; and

3.4.2 Excludes Fees and charges per Our Tariff and Charges, Cash Advance,
Balance Transfer Instalment (BTI), Cash Instalment Plan (CIP), Quasi Cash
and/ or transactions that enables cash-out or transfers to bank account.

No, which is ironic since there's literally a cashback category for eWallet. Anyway, as with everything, check the T&C for what's eligible.

wonder if i can fulfil this RM 1,000 requirement by spending on government related transactions such as assessment tax, indah water etc.. as T&C did not exclude?
