Are you an experienced hire or a junior one? Experienced hire go throw your resume to people on linkedin / efinancialcareers and let those headhunter try and match you to jobs. If junior ... honestly quite difficult because there is no lack of junior level hires locally.
Tender after EP approved lor. Generally it takes few days to couple of weeks. Mine last time took 2 weeks whereas my wife one took I think 2 or 3 days only.
If you want to do it the "clean" way then ask your current malaysia company to issue borang CP21 for you. Then u bring it to LHDN and close off your income tax file. If can't-be-bothered way then every year just declare zero income on tax filing lo. Welcome to SG and if you're interested send a PM to our daikor MacKiddo to get added to the m'sians working in sg support group whatsapp icon_idea.gif

EP is hard to get nowadays. many of my colleague got S pass and some even got a WP. Those on the $3-3.5k range no need to hope for EP anymore. Those below 3k, prepare to take WP. at least that's what happen in the place i working now.

What jobs are there? I guess in engineering field?

you can check the status of the application yourself at the MOM website using your passport number if you are anxious to know the outcome

hey bro, you're working in sg finance industry?

Yes, foreign bank. What I can say is thanks to the entire industry coming under huge regulatory and balance sheet pressures, practically every single foreign bank with significant SG presence is cutting jobs (or move them to cheaper places) - particularly on the more back office roles like IT and operations.

If you are a junior hire, to be honest without any cable you have very very small chance of getting in. If experienced still OK.

Seems unlikely (unless the company HR fukup when applying) that you won't get EP by 15 Jan. Cos normally it is approved (or rejected) within few days to max 1-2 weeks.

Sorry that this might be a qs asked before. I am interested to work in SG and would like to inquire what is the best way to get a banking job in SG?
*
there are various positions in the banking sector such as front end and back end. I have mys friends working/previously working in UxB for front line position. She got a decent pay for her qualification but need to work on shift and she quit after 3 years due to politics within the branch. She was recommended this job by another friend who is still working in there. If you have friends working in SG, it is much better that you ask them to recommend you into the company.

Do you mind telling what kind of position are you seeking in the banking sector?

Hi Guys, I need recommendation on places to stay and which handphone sim card should I get. I will be working around tanjong pagar mrt and hoping to get handphone data of 2 GB at least. Thanks!
*
2gb data on a prepaid sim should be quite expensive. you can sign for postpaid type plan without a contract, paying $42.90 for 2-3 gb data per month, 150-200 minutes of local talk time (depends on telco plan). you may want to add V018/019 at around $7 per month so that you can call home with your local minutes stated above.

1. According to PAP, $12,000 annual salary can earn HDB liao.

6 Home ownership is the cornerstone of Singapore’s public housing programme. It gives Singaporeans a valuable asset and a stake in the country and its future.

7 The Special HDB Housing Grant (SHG) will make owning an HDB flat within reach of more low-income families by reducing the housing loan that they will need to take. For instance, a family with a monthly household income of $1,000 will be able to own a new 2-room flat priced at $100,000 Average selling price of a new 2-room BTO flat. The AHG of $40,000 and the SHG of $20,000 translates to an estimated monthly mortgage instalment of $160. This is about 16% of their monthly household income and can be serviced entirely from the monthly CPF OA contribution.

2. SPR cannot buy HDB solo, must have two names.

Regulations must have. So tempted to do big bucks insider trade hmm if I can walk free easily. Cut cost also good. Wonder how they willing to pay tens of thousands for ppl to just sit in office, 28 days of leave and 4.5 days week.

I just got a new job offer, but still unsure of whether to accept it or not..
permanent position with an MNC with about 15% increment from my current salary. However there's no 13 month bonus and the place seems understaffed at the moment..

If I were to join the new co, will my current employer knows when they apply for my new pass??
I dont really feel like telling my current co that i'm joining another firm, and was thinking of saying that i want to go back to malaysia first to take some time off..

Hi guys,

Has anyone come across the SG employer contributing to employee's MY EPF?
And in tandem the employee's contribution is also deducted from the salary to MY EPF?
