Sorry that this might be a qs asked before. I am interested to work in SG and would like to inquire what is the best way to get a banking job in SG?
*
there are various positions in the banking sector such as front end and back end. I have mys friends working/previously working in UxB for front line position. She got a decent pay for her qualification but need to work on shift and she quit after 3 years due to politics within the branch. She was recommended this job by another friend who is still working in there. If you have friends working in SG, it is much better that you ask them to recommend you into the company.

Do you mind telling what kind of position are you seeking in the banking sector?

Hi Guys, I need recommendation on places to stay and which handphone sim card should I get. I will be working around tanjong pagar mrt and hoping to get handphone data of 2 GB at least. Thanks!
*
2gb data on a prepaid sim should be quite expensive. you can sign for postpaid type plan without a contract, paying $42.90 for 2-3 gb data per month, 150-200 minutes of local talk time (depends on telco plan). you may want to add V018/019 at around $7 per month so that you can call home with your local minutes stated above.

Yes, foreign bank. What I can say is thanks to the entire industry coming under huge regulatory and balance sheet pressures, practically every single foreign bank with significant SG presence is cutting jobs (or move them to cheaper places) - particularly on the more back office roles like IT and operations.

If you are a junior hire, to be honest without any cable you have very very small chance of getting in. If experienced still OK.
Seems unlikely (unless the company HR fukup when applying) that you won't get EP by 15 Jan. Cos normally it is approved (or rejected) within few days to max 1-2 weeks.
*
i am working in a finance company, i feel the pain too. there are lots of reporting to do, so many regulations to comply, change of accounting standards etc. at least my company is not cutting jobs as yet

any idea how much is the salary range in singapore (accounting firms/commercial) if i got 3 yrs experience in a small audit firm (haven't apply for ACCA membership). Is it hard to get a job there if I can't speak and write chinese?
*
should have at least 2500+, if you are lucky, you can get 3k+. some will look at annual income rather than monthly income since annual income will include AWS and bonus.

most of the paper works are in english unless you need to deal with those chinese customers.

Did not bring my monitor because that time still CRT. No declare. Reasonable amount and used still ok. If not you will see everyone coming in line up at counter to pay gst.
*
everytime i fly in, SG custom also did not check my luggage. just make sure that your luggage is big enough to fit your CPU

Hi all. I'm a fresh grad in diploma in it. What are my chances of securing a job in Singapore? Looking for an IT technician job. So far I've looked in jobstreet which are mostly advertised by agents. Kinda uncertain bout agents though. Hope anyone can enlighten me. Thank you.
*
so far i seldom hear my friends getting any job offers successfully from agents except for Singaporeans or PR

Anyone here got their PR recently? I'm trying to find out more about the completion formalities for successful applicants..
I've submitted my application recently and wondering what if I am were to change job or move to another country during this period..
though of trying my luck elsewhere and gain some oversea exposure before coming back here again in another 2 years or so..
else i'll just have to postpone everything.
*

I have completed my ACCA course this year and now looking for audit in big 4 but  there is no new until now. Before this i have also worked as accountant in a insurance firm but i still preferred in audit line.

Since there no news from big 4 in malaysia i plan to go for account field in singapore since my parents encourage me to work there once i have finished my course.

Any suggestion, should i keep staying at malaysia or should give a try at singapore?
I have send few resume to some companies at singapore but also no answer, any idea how should i getting job at singapore?
*
when i first started seeking job in SG also sent hundreds of applications. get a SG hp number, easier to get opportunity

you have completed ACCA should be 'wanted' in SG, can come to try your luck

Interesting point. Can this idea work if I'm not physically in Singapore looking for jobs though? In other words, is there a prepaid SIM plan that doesn't burn a hole in my pocket for roaming charges?
*
i think roaming charges are not cheap but never really compared the prices of that 3 telcos. if you are no physically in SG, what if they ask you to come interview the next day? the most you can push it to the subsequent week. you can't be travelling here through and flow everytime you have an interview, it will cost you more.

the risk is that if you can't find a job within 2 or 3 months then you will have to back malaysia and can't come back for a period of time. so make sure you get a job within 2 months

What would be the best ways to apply jobs in Singapore right now?

The most common ways would be via the JOBStreet, Monsters etc all the job portal, but it seems like the chances of getting called for interview is relatively slim or none.
*
i got my job from jobsdb previously, got other interviews as well from other job portal. nowadays i thought most of the recruitment advertisements have to go through MOM Job Bank for 2 weeks before hiring foreigners, not sure bout the chances for foreigners (not PR yet)

That Job Bank portal is 'wayang' only. Still got companies recruit foreigner directly
*
really? but when the company applies for employment pass from MOM, MOM would ask for the advertising proof at the job bank i guess. not sure how they deal with it
