Hi, you can check your EP status at https://eponline.mom.gov.sg/epol/PEPOLUAMT0...isplayAction.do . Normally it will slightly easy approve for EP unless you have any criminal records. If you tender your job and EP still pending, you still can enter SG for your new job with white card. If your new company don't mind to wait, you can tender after only new EP approved and finish your notice period.

Oh, What @aLertz meant was when you are going through Singapore Customs is it when using the approved EP to get in to Singapore? Is my first time working in Singapore too, need to get many plannings done. Have you gotten a place to rent?

the process is like this...
company will apply EP for you, when application is approved, you'll get a paper call IPA which is like a temp pass...
with that, you can start working/rent room already...

then company HR will make appointment with MOM...
you'll have to go MOM on the date of the appointment to take picture, pass the white entry card and verify your documents which include certs etc etc...

then after a few workings days, your pass will be sent to your company

btw, u can actually go into SG for the first time like a tourist

EP is hard to get nowadays. many of my colleague got S pass and some even got a WP. Those on the $3-3.5k range no need to hope for EP anymore. Those below 3k, prepare to take WP. at least that's what happen in the place i working now.

Are you an experienced hire or a junior one? Experienced hire go throw your resume to people on linkedin / efinancialcareers and let those headhunter try and match you to jobs. If junior ... honestly quite difficult because there is no lack of junior level hires locally.


Tender after EP approved lor. Generally it takes few days to couple of weeks. Mine last time took 2 weeks whereas my wife one took I think 2 or 3 days only.


If you want to do it the "clean" way then ask your current malaysia company to issue borang CP21 for you. Then u bring it to LHDN and close off your income tax file. If can't-be-bothered way then every year just declare zero income on tax filing lo.
