That explain the high ping. biggrin.gif

I not sure if there are some settings can be changed on the Asus modem since I never own an Asus ADSL modem.
Nothing can fully protect your modem from lightning unfortunately.

I use a dedicated Cal-Lab lighting isolator which is rather effective but that is another additional cost.

Does TM even know about it and can they reduce it ? I do asked about it and seems they avoiding it

Some modem will negotiate a deeper interleave depth in order to achieve better stability.

Some users manage to request a change into the Fastpath ADSL profile at an expense of reduced stability.

You can try a different modem router as well.

the same issue keep on rotating few month

1) Frequent disconnection
2) complain to 100, then frequent disconnection solve
3) after frequent disconnection solved, download speed dropped, 4.3~4.5mbps to 3.4mbps
4) complain to 100, TM replied already provide 80% of the speed, my plan is 4mbps
5) lodge complaint to MCMC/CFM, download speed go back to 4.3~4.5mbps again

every few months I was doing the same rotate job, anybody here have the same experience?
*
Updated, problem solved, this is the 3rd time I complained the same issue to MCMC. tongue.gif tongue.gif
Before that I checked summary of connection from modem, the given port speed is 4mbps, reduce some losses during transfer, it become 3.2~3.4mbps, now they change the port speed to 5mbps tongue.gif

my landline and internet line is split out using a splitter.

one problem that i encounter (not sure whether is it related to the use of splitter), is that all voice call would experience "noises", like cracking sound or those "sssshhhh sshhh" sound..

1) using a splitter, would this result in slower speed?..or should i separate both?

2) how do i separate both? apply for a new telephone line?

Try using a different splitter, it could be a failed splitter as the splitter usually helps with that issue.

No good or bad splinter, just a splitter that works or not.

Hi guys. is below stats OK?

Been getting inconsistent speed since Sept..like in 1 minute it will be 3.5-4 Mbps but in the next 5 mins is less than 1 Mbps. Has called 100 and technician came to my house citing wiring/cabling error and replace them and add new splitter also. However, after a week, same problem still happen.

Kindly help

Your stats is really good but it could be the modem/router issue. What modem router are you using?

That's an okay modem router. It could be an overheating issue though, or something wrong with the hardware. You could possibly try with a different modem/router.

Nah, that's standard TM procedure. My other house that's on Streamyx had a line problem, and they offered me the same option. But, mine was resolved for free without any stipulations as there was a degraded wiring issue that was not mine or TM fault's. I can't really recommend a decent modem/router wth that price. I wanted to recommend the D-Link DSL 2750E but it is full of vulnerabilities plus their reputation is really shit at the moment with the rubbish bin router issue.

Get the most affordable TP-Link ADSL modem router, it should be fine.

RM150 is pretty low for today's standard.

We used to be able to get at least decent router at RM150 but our currency now is cry.gif

Huh, just realised too. Apparently, both streamyx and unifi under one roof now at unifi.com.my.
