YouTube is slow. I attempt to download from the website and getting only 250kb/s

On UniFi 10Mbps. 110.xxx IP.

This IP range is always problematic, same as 60.5x

20x.xxx and 175.xxx OK

called UniFi Centre just now, they not sure about this issue. icon_question.gif
and asked to do speed & ping test with pingplotter. hmm.gif
tested both sites, get several 100% packet loss. blink.gif
and they even said 10mbps should only get 8mbps max. shakehead.gif

this is the reply email i received from TM Unifi CS after complaining unable to browse certain china website:

QUOTE
Thank you for contacting TM Unifi.

Referring to your report number [removed] regarding on your issue, we sincerely apologize for your issue. Kindly be informed that currently there will be degradation faced by Unifi users while browsing towards China sites due to link congestion. This is due to the increasing traffic in the links which connecting Malaysia with North Asia Countries. Please noted that the routing network to the international is different within ISP and treatment of IP. For the outgoing path towards international could be control by TM but the incoming from outside it’s beyond TM network and depend on other ISP treatment whether they treat us as backhaul/peering or transit.

At the mean time, we really appreciate your kind patience, as we will try our best effort to resolve this problem as soon as possible.

Thank you for contacting TM UniFi. Firstly, we would like to apologise for the late reply.
Referring to your e-mail dated 1st June 2013 pertaining on Unifi connection issue to china website, we apologize for any inconvenience that you are facing currently. Currently we observed increase in traffic flow towards China sites. This might be due to:
- booming of popular games server and content provider in China
- increasing demand of bandwidth hungry application ie: video/music streaming, iptv, online gaming, p2p
- huge demand of China based traffic for biz purposes
This will result in customers experiencing some degree of service degradation while accessing contents hosted in the China, such as slow internet speed during surfing, downloading, streaming and online gaming. However, traffic to other countries is not affected.
However, please be informed that we will continuously improve our network to deliver the best experience to our customer and not only to china, but to the other destination as well. At the meantime, we really appreciate your kind patience, as we will try our best effort to resolve this problem. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.
For further assistance or feedback, kindly e-mail us at unifi@tm.com.my . Alternatively, you can also contact TM UniFi at 1300-88-1221 for "Technical Customer Support" and “General enquiry and Billing”.
We look forward to serving you better.

Anyone have ever tried to ask TM to change to the oren wireless modem one?
I tried once when I registered my 2nd UniFi account, but they said the D-Link DIR-615 is no longer available.
You're better off buying your own 3rd party router from ASUS or TP-Link.

Agree.
I made complaint to Unifi on last Friday but they don't response me at all, no call, nothing and just close my complaint report on Saturday without any solution and not contact me at all.Beside Lowyat forum, lots of chinese forum like cari.com chinese user are complaint as well.
I just lodged a report to SKMM and i believe Unifi people will call me very soon as i can recall my last report to SKMM on September for the same China website problem which is no solution by Unifi side before complaining to SKMM, Unifi non stop call me not less than 8 times after i complaint to SKMM and they call me to find out what's my problem (funny, they should know what's my complaint by reading my complaint log).So anyone here already call Unifi and they don't give any response or solution, please go SKMM aduan website to report Unifi browsing China web issue:

ASUS routers are not overkill nor overpriced
Their prices is fair for their high quality products, frequently updated firmwares & they provide the best tech support.
ASUS is the only manufacturer who has their own tech support guy in our forum & he's very active in solving problems.
ASUS also frequently release firmware updates.
Take my 3 & ½ year old RT-N16 for example. This router has already been stopped from production for nearly a year but it still receive firmware updates until today.

TP-Link is cheap, so as the quality of their products, nonexistent tech support & their products rarely receive firmware updates.

I'm speaking based on my own experience owning several ASUS & TP-Link routers.
2 x ASUS RT-N16
1 x ASUS RT-AC68U
1 x TP-Link TL-WR1043ND
1 x TP-Link TL-WDR4300

ASUS RT-N14UHP is around RM258 in Lazada.
Bigger wireless coverage compared with other routers I've ever tested.
The USB port on the RT-N14UHP can be used to share an external harddisk/printer within the whole network.
You can also use the Download Master function in the router as FTP/HTTP/Torrent downloader (you can't do this on TP-Link routers without using 3rd party firmware).
The Download Master will download stuff for you without even turning on a PC/Laptop & save it on the connected external harddisk that's plugged into the USB port.

http://www.asus.com/Networking/RTN14UHP/

If you don't need a USB port on your router, you can get the cheaper RT-N12HP at a price tag of RM172.80 from Lazada.
Without the USB port, you won't be able to share a printer / files within the network.
