ASUS RT-N14UHP is around RM258 in Lazada.
Bigger wireless coverage compared with other routers I've ever tested.
The USB port on the RT-N14UHP can be used to share an external harddisk/printer within the whole network.
You can also use the Download Master function in the router as FTP/HTTP/Torrent downloader (you can't do this on TP-Link routers without using 3rd party firmware).
The Download Master will download stuff for you without even turning on a PC/Laptop & save it on the connected external harddisk that's plugged into the USB port.

RT-N66U does have the Download Master function.
And don't worry, RT-N66U will work perfectly with UniFi.

Hey I using the Asus rt-n56u router . I've been disconnected from unifi these few days , getting failure to connect to remote server. Can't access anything, bangsar area. Using tmnet hua wei hg655a, DSL light up but Internet light blinking . Voip is red . Could it be due to the submarine cable issue ? Anyone facing unifi disconnection today/yesterday ?

It's the same.
The hardware that you can change is the Residential Gateway (router), the Broadband Termination Unit (BTU or modem) cannot be replaced.

That depends on how much you're willing to spend & what kind of features do you want on the router.

If you want to save money, go for TP-Link.
If you want reliability, stability & long term support, go for ASUS.

Hi all,

Currently still using the D-link router provided by TM for my unifi 10M. Due to the devices at home increase especially Wifi, planning to change it to slightly better router to support my current usage.

Requirement as below:-
1. Budget below RM200.
2. Connection must be stable between Internet and LAN. (doesn't need to always reboot the router.)
3. Strong Wifi signal enough for a 900sf house.(My router is not placing at center of my house, the distance from router to the end is around 10m.)

Currently looking for TP-Link TL-WR1043ND, is this router good? or any other router better than this that within my budget?

If you want huge coverage + USB port to share a printer / share an external HDD with the whole house, get the ASUS RT-N14UHP. The USB port can also be used to download torrents directly without turning on a PC / laptop. Priced at RM257 in Lazada.

http://www.asus.com/Networking/RTN14UHP/

If your budget is really limited to below RM200 but still want huge coverage, then get the ASUS RT-N12HP. No USB port though. Priced at RM173 in Lazada.

u want advice, people give u advise, u decide.
u want low price, good performance for Unifi.
the long antennae is precisely why it is good, why better than others.
u can opt for short antennae version for same model but u may not be satisfied.
the day will come u can custom order antennae length to yr choice.
but sure pay more la.... tongue.gif
