are you using stock proton sport rim or aftermarket? just found out that heavier sport rim can cause higher fuel consumption. in my case it's about 10% increase.
My rims all original stockYour Car's FUEL CONSUMPTION, needs info, please...Topic merged..again

QUOTE(SleeplessEyes @ Dec 27 2020, 12:43 AM) Exactly my thoughts. My 2016 Axia E spec (Manual) does 16KM/L , sometimes 15Km/L if I drive hard and speeding. Mix city drive + highway. And with aircond. Yes I know mine is manual, so your auto should get around 14KM/L on mix driving. I noticed sometimes Petronas sometimes give poorer FC thats why I try reduce using Petronas. Same car Axia E 2016 stock, mileage 90K tyres 250kpa, aircond always 16-17km/l 50% Seremban w passenger out accelerate all cars at traffic lights 50% Seremban-KL alone Avg speed 120-130kmh 18-19km/l 100% outstation trip fully loaded Avg speed 110kmh Exclusively Petronas (excl those stations that give inferior fuel) |

Wira best on Caltex, Accord best on Shell, Altis best on Petronas, etc... nowadays no more tracking and not too bothered which station liao... hahaha |

anyways I just concluded a test... 80 vs 100 kmh max
car: ct200h mode: normal tyre: ps3, 35psi, 20% tread eo: no idea test distance: 1600km (about 1 month) test route: subang-bangsar time: 5:30am (50% highway speed limit test), 1pm (50% urban jam) driving style: uncle 80 kmh - 4.1L/100km (24.4 km/l) 100 kmh - 4.3L/100km (23.3 km/l) with some "optimal" stop-go traffic got it down to 4.0 L/100km... will not be repeating this test... so stressful going such low speed... I get around 13.5-13.7km/l for per trip via Petronas which speed range from 110kmh at kampung road and 140-150kmh at highway. I try to maintain the same driving pattern eventhough it might close to 100% accuracy. Bhp give me around 12.5-12.6km/l. This is based on my meter and it will automatically reset to 0 when I refuel. I will refuel when light up. This post has been edited by ayamxxx: Dec 31 2020, 10:37 PM |

Now I need to conclude whether does Ron 97 indeed helps improve my Exora turbo FC.
few times I fuel up with Ron 97 and my average FC meter seems to show noticeable improvement over 95. And this is despite my heavy foot though sometimes I will try go granny eco drive However I have been toying between Caltex and BHP which is not as common as Petronas and Shell. Which might also affect results. |

This year I decided to mess around with the MAP sensor, change air filter and clean throttle body, use heavier stock sport rim, and 10w40 oil instead of mineral 20w50, now the meter is constant at 8.7L/100km (about 10% more fuel consumption). However the mileage per liter doesn't feel changed because 11 liter of Ron95 still give me the same mileage as before. |

Persona 2007 1.6 Auto, city drive average speed at 60km/h. the tank fill method would be the most accurate provided you don't trap gas pockets inside when filling The meter have a known issue, always to trigger check engine light whenever going faster than 110km/h or revving past 3000RPM. |

Usually if your check engine light lights up last 3000rpm it's usually a sign of oxygen sensor faulty or spark plug worn out /misfiring, causing the sensor to detect higher levels of unburned petrol. Had that issue with ex Wira 1.3GLI and spark plug was the cause of check engine suddenly comes on. |

QUOTE(SleeplessEyes @ Jan 3 2021, 06:30 PM) fuel meter and check engine are 2 separate items, usually. Agree. Best to start with spark plug replacement first and see from there. Last time wrongly bought wira spark plug on my waja mitsu engine, it had somehow massive lack of power when reach 130kmh above. Then come engine light.Usually if your check engine light lights up last 3000rpm it's usually a sign of oxygen sensor faulty or spark plug worn out /misfiring, causing the sensor to detect higher levels of unburned petrol.
