QUOTE(nairud @ May 5 2006, 10:30 AM) there's one in SS2; Honeybee cafe but the food sucks man... yeah 1 year human = 7 year dog i agreed... but how true ? izzit a myst or a research? or izzit base on human life cycle?1 human year = 7 dog years. you do the math human can live 110-120 years old and dog can live about max 13-15 years old which mean 1 human year = 7-8 year. Well, there is a trick to use conditioner. It will be more effective if you soak the conditioner with warm water first, then only apply on the body, hope this helps. QUOTE(HuonHengChai @ May 11 2006, 04:16 PM) erm, sorry wo disagree here, pls pls don boycott my kopitiam ok>! haha! some dog owners used to think that bathing for dog with warm water will be better for the dogs as they might not feel that cold, but actually it cost more harm than good. By bathing them use warm water, their "bule roma" "sorry my english is bad, means the holes which the fur grow" will actually expand. When you apply shampoo on it, it will get into the holes, then after you dry the dog up, the hole will close back and this will cause irritations. 1 more time, pls don boycott my kopitiam! |

Plus, don't bath your dog too frequently. Use proper pet shampoo. If not you will end up stripping the natural oils from their hair.

if you have the capital make it a all in one thing. my idea is to get a large land, turn it into a park with artificial river or pond that allows dogs or pet owner to swim in.
there should be a Vet, petshop and grooming service as well as a cafe that serves food for people and pets, at least the pet owner can makan while waiting for their pets to be groomed. but it's just a dream for now |

I am quoting questions from littlegreen here which was posted at the Pets Picture thread since this Pets Kopitiam will be more appropriate.
QUOTE(littlegreen @ May 13 2006, 12:14 PM) is it true that st bernard will drool alot... Yes. St. Bernard will drool.. a lot as I have been told. It is their nature so I don't believe you can train them not to drool. Even with my St. Bernard at a young age currently, I keep some napkins/cloth on hand to wipe their mouth, especially after drinking so it doesn't get all over me. how to get them not to drool can it be train to not to drool..... maybe next time i ll have one... considering.... and how to u train ur dog where to do his business... Training a dog to do his/her 'business' takes some time and a lot of patience. To those that want to scream that it is cruel to keep your dog in a crate, it is not true. You are actually doing your dog a favor by keeping it safe as well while it is still young. You can adjust once your dog has learnt where to eliminate. You must of course take them out often as your dog will need the company. Time your feeding times so you will know when your dog will want to do 'big business' and the 'small business'. Your puppy will want to eliminate after eating, drinking and playing in general. If you know where you want them to eliminate, always take them to the same place all the time and also use words like 'go pee', 'go potty', etc so your puppy can associate those words with eliminating. Depending on your puppy's age, you may need to take them out often. I take mine out every 2hours 30mins even during the night (so yes I need sleep now.. hehehe Once done, take them in immediately. You do not want to confuse them with 'eliminating time' and 'playing time'. There will be 'accidents' where your puppy will eliminate at the wrong spot. If you catch them in the act, quickly make a loud noise to distract them (I usually say in a stern voice - 'NO!') and quickly take them to their designated eliminating spot. What you are doing is teaching them to associate their action at the correct spot. DO NOT GET ANGRY with them if you find their 'accidents' after the fact. Contrary to what many will tell you especially in Malaysia, do not scold them, hit them or god forbid, 'stuff' their face in their urine or feces. All you're telling them is that you're angry at the urine or feces but not the incorrect spot. Just clean up the 'accidents' and keep doing the above. All the best! RedBox |

Your 1 stop dog thingy is a great idea, dog owners will come to this "dog town" 1 stop centre and all these different shops will complement each other! FABULOUS IDEA i will say! |

This topic has been discussed in a lot of forums but none has seen the light. Because of what if you ask me? Check out our govt Animal cruelty act and also the current mentality of "malaysians".
There's lil chance that your proposal to open up a dog cafe will be approved. So much for transparency, etc. They'll give you lots of reasons like; too dirty, not hygienic enough, neighbourhood environment, etc. Even if you managed to open one, i'm sure certain ppl will complain about it. Best way is to open up a normal cafe with a dog friendly concept instead of opening a doggy cafe. that's my 10baht |

yap, there will be complaints if there are anti dog persons nearby, but how if we open a 1 stop centre which means everything built nearby are for dogs, which means juz dog lovers will be around?

They only interested in animal cruelty and donations to support them.Pet Cafe, nah... even in our country, already got law stating restaurants and cafes cannot have animals inside. They won't give licence for that. People these days bring their dogs to eat at restaurants only can eat outdoors. That is why quite a few cafes allow pets but must sit outdoors. If want to open pet cafe, then all must sit outside loh. Actually, there was a pet cafe once... and guess what, there was no support at all from pet lovers.... I went there and it was empty empty... in the end, 1 year later closed down. |

not asking the orgs to support financially,
they need place to educate people, rise donations and put up their animals for adoptions, offer them lots so they can get something out of it. a pet cafe alone is not enough to attract people, there must be something to "make" people want to come |

I think this idea is still tough to make it fly for now. Most dog owners I know in Malaysia cook their own food for the pets, do not take it for grooming and rarely take it to actual training classes. It's how the thinking is rather than the government.
Maybe start with a one stop pet shop with food supplies, toys, grooming, training classes, etc. But it may be tough like what crazymouse_yyh said, no support means it will close down very soon. RedBox This post has been edited by RedBox: May 17 2006, 10:07 PM |

Oh, I see.... no wonder you need a bodyguard for Fala now. Well, I think it is best you keep Fala indoors till she is big and older and no one would be tempted to steal her. But it is a risk since Labs are so so friendly. But when she is bigger, harder to dognap since she would be quite big. |

QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ May 18 2006, 11:55 PM) Hahah... addicted to pets hehehe.... She will probably stay outside once she is back from the dog trainer place ...Oh, I see.... no wonder you need a bodyguard for Fala now. Well, I think it is best you keep Fala indoors till she is big and older and no one would be tempted to steal her. But it is a risk since Labs are so so friendly. But when she is bigger, harder to dognap since she would be quite big. |

QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ May 19 2006, 12:13 AM) It's better than nothing . She bullies me all the time and I also another soft-hearted goes bonker . Whenever I call her name , she will then lay down and look at me only giving signal that I should go to her and pat her instead of her coming to me . But she can be a sweetheart whenever it's about time to sleep (1030pm to 12am) she will come to me and sleep very near to me or sometime she will have her head on my lap and doze off ...I LOVE HER AND MISS HER TERRRRRIBLY . Ah , yeah with the dog trainer , the price is quite reasonable I think-- RM1.2k , once Fala knows all the commands . There was this golden when I first visited the trainer , the golden learnt all his stuff at a duration of 8 days , amazing hor ..but Fala very manja ..and lazy and playful . Anyway I keep calling the trainer and I think he is going mad at answering my phone calls . :/ |

And it is not natural to drink water with their heads up since in nature, they bow down to drink. If small toy dogs the bottle is ok lah since their tongues and water intake is not as much as medium or mini breeds. So it is actually better to give a bowl lah, your dog will like it much much better. I already gave up on bottle, gave to my rabbits.... |

Mine loves to dig too. Currently I sternly keep telling her no! Hoping she would learn soon. They can easily get hook worms by eating soil.

My trick is pepper... tried it on my own dogs and also a few friends' dogs, it works. Buy a nice big packet and pour quite an amount in the soil. It won't spoil the plant, not to worry. It won't hurt your dog either coz naturally they hate pepper. |

QUOTE(M2K2Land @ May 26 2006, 10:35 AM) checked the forum dont mention when is the date. Is sure thing i will bring him Jungle Trekking is every Saturday hahahah.... most members just plan when will have bigger groups. Every Saturday, a few dog owners will be there. Like a weekly ritual liao. Just leash your dog and bring plastic bag along. Sigh, everytime I go also never bring dog coz I live quite far from Bkt Gasing... take LRT to sit friend's car.JT starts at 7.45am loh.... and bring insect repellant.... damn a lot of mozzies ahahah.... |

so i called , those doggies are not registered with MKA since they're banned in malaysia (FILA , not sure about Tibetan Mastiff though) . he said china no longer 'export' Tibetan Mastiff to malaysia ..other country i didnt ask lah . so you can only manage to smuggle in TM from thailand . these are not important , i dont see anyone of us will splash a lump sum on these doggies anyway.

They will turn red with a - sign. After quoting, go to bottom of the thread and see the "add reply" button, click that and you can do multiple replying You going of the dog olympics? |

lol...those things are fun. A friend of mine has one, brought it to the training field and let the pups run wild.It was mad fun watching the lil malinois' play with the yellow ball with 2 legs
imho tho,I've heard of several dogs getting injured playing the kong. When u throw, they bounce in funny angles which is fun but not when the dog is gonig at full speed. Quite a number of dogs I noe have sprained ankles and broken bones (the extreme cases) from twisting and turning to catch these kongs. |

Well,we feed and take care of them...the least they can do is provide some amusement
If u can channel all that energy and biting into smth productive like dog sports, they are one heck of a dog!! They make fantastic sports/competition dogs (in any game) kinda like over grown JRT's On another note...they can train ur patience This post has been edited by RealityDreamer: May 28 2006, 04:58 PM |

White boxers appear because lack of the white gene overtakes the colour gene. They are not albino and this problem is recessive. They are not allowed in shows. White boxers can be registered under MKA but there will be a stamp that says No breeding or something. even if a white boxer have 30% more white on the body, they are also penalised.

If you dare to proclaim you're a maltese breeder (which needs grooming), you yourself should take the responsibility to note which grooming centre is good. Not to mention about heartgard also

QUOTE(eg_9525 @ Jun 16 2006, 11:06 PM) hey guys and gals... my 1 year old pug boy always like to chew and eat newspaper. how can i stop his habbit? kindly advise.. Same for my dogs! & it seems like dogs like MALTESE really love to chew on papers! well wat i did is whenever i saw them chew on things they are not supposed to, (for my case since small) I will say NO! firmly then provide them with the chew toy they supposed to chew with, then play along with the chew toys & praise them a lo0OT. But, sometimes i dont know why they will repeat again, so i start to give them the toilet roles' "inside" seems like they love to chew on these paper base things.. Hope this will help, do keep us updated abt ur pug! |

While discouraging bad attitudes, encouragements are important too. Once u said NO! u should hand over to him the chew toys he supposed to chew on, play with him happily & praise him a lot!!! besides, whenever u see him chew on the right toys or watever else good habits, praise him a lot & u might give him a treat too! by the way wat breed of dog u owning? Well for all the "customers" here how are u guys lately? as u can see i din online these few days as im run out of time, taking in few dogs recently & i have to take full care of them. Later in the morning & Sunday there will be dog show held at South City Plaza, u guys going? Well im going, those who do not know abt this do come along & have a look of the dog show! it will surely be interesting! Thats all for today i think, have a nice day! |

Hi all, would like to ask about doggy food. My mongrel is so thin, I wanna feed him more hehe. Um, someone recommended Royal Canin. They really don't come cheap haha but for me still okay cause I want to see Caltex healthy.
What's a next best substitute if I don't see Royal Canin at some shops? |

You can get Innova at the Sea Park pet shop. Want a good one, you can try Canidae which is holistic but now too commercial already. You can try out Nutri Edge also, around rm41 for a 2kg bag

The soft poop is caused by the ingredients... sometimes it could be corn... sometimes the by products... sometimes the minerals used...
If give rice, make sure mix with some meat and vegies... for a balance diet lah. Then you buy some vitamin tablets or powder for dogs as a supplement too. |

Dunno, but I wish I had to time to cook up something good for him. Sometimes I worry that the dishes/meat she gives Caltex is too salty, hence not being good for his health.
So now what, I have an almost full bag of dog food and she won't let me feed him that. |

Sometimes I worry that the dishes/meat she gives Caltex is too salty, hence not being good for his health. but then by eating rice cant solve ur dad's problem --- poo wont be harden if you feed rice. furthermore, the best & convenience food to give nowadays is good dog food with good testimonials. So now what, I have an almost full bag of dog food and she won't let me feed him that. 1 of the reason I chose to feed my dogs blackwood brand coz their poo will be hard & easy to pick up. By the way why soft poo borders your dad so much? Hope u & ur dog will have a nice time. |

Go for Innova or California Natural wet food. I still would suggest your dog to eat raw food coz my choosy dog now loves to eat every meal after I change her diet to half raw and half kibbles.

Some pictures to share with you dog lovers. A big pet store finally opened where I'm at! I used to pick up dog stuff at another store about 1 hr away so this will be a nice place to have in town. Pictures taken during the grand opening and sales.
Picked up a few free toys, 2 20lb free dog food and bought a bag of treats, some additional toys and treated my St. Bernard to a special spa day (bath, brush, ear cleaning, cut nails, and hair cut). She has a nice coconut smell to her now. Rawhide bar and treat bar for dogs! Biggest Dog and Longest Tail winner. My St. Bernard tail was about 2 1/2 inches shy of third place. It's in Oklahoma US so I didn't think anyone would be near here.
Yeah, the competition were held during the grand opening. Biggest dog, longest tail, best bark, best costume, best trick, pet owner/pet lookalike, etc. My dog was the biggest until 4 great danes walked in. She immediately retreated to a corner. Heheh... For the larger events, mostly are organised with at least "business intention", of corse there are minor ones which are organised due to interest or just for the sake of fun.
The major factor should be the fund, if it is "business thingy" then of corse the organiser are more willing to spend, but if it is just for interest, the budget will be very limited. But still, we can held those minor gatherings for LYN members, some of the members here are quite active in meeting up with the other dog lovers. |

Found a lost dog yesterday! Was about to head out for lunch and found a dog around the front of my house. I looked around but did not see anyone on the street. When the dog saw me, she immediately head over to me and wanted to follow me in the house.
It was getting cold outside so I took her in and gave her food and water. She looks a little dirty so I am not sure how long she has been out. No tags on the collar and I am not sure if it has a microchip. I think it probably belongs to someone around the area so I made 100 flyers with my contact information on it which I will distribute to all the houses in this neighborhood. Hopefully someone will contact me. Here are some pictures. What type of dog is this? RB This post has been edited by RedBox: Nov 5 2006, 09:43 PM |

Awesome looking dog there Well I do hope it belongs to someone. I had to work yesterday so I just kept it in the house. It's early morning now so I am getting ready to go around posting flyers. The dog seems trained. She jumped on the couch yesterday and immediately sat there like she has done this many times! I bet the owner must be having a heartache knowing that it's gone RB |

Hooray!!!
I called Animal Control today since they only opened Mon-Fri and the owner had called in to report a missing dog. I immediately got her number and called her. Back home safe and sound. M2K2Land, we would have probably taken her to Animal Control. They will most likely get her checked and after some time, get her over to the Humane Society for adoption. We talked about it but just felt that we do not have the time to devote attention to two dogs so it will not be good to keep her too. White Palace, I rarely visit other pets' forum and I won't know which one will be popular here. I figured local agencies like Animal Control and Humane Society will be the best pet plus flyers. It worked great. One a side note, Mika's going to a second level obedience training class this evening at 7:30pm. Gotta go buy some sausages and cheese as treats for the class. See you all later. Tarak orang yam cha? hehe... This kopitiam very quite. Let me start with something.
Today morning, MBPJ car come can catch those stray dog. About 5-6 dogs been catch. It using the rope to tight their head and just pull into the lorry(small). Look so poor but I think my Taman was too many stray dog and people start complain about their poo, pee and also some bite people. Do it good to let them catch? Are them going to put all the dog they catch to sleep mode? Poor... |

I know some die during the journey cause it's really conjested in the van. Don't know if they get executed upon arrival or are kept for a few weeks for possible adoption.
Did anyone read the Star sometime back on how the municiple council just barged into a school compound and shot a poor tame dog in front of all the students, let it bleed for a while and then used a meat hook to fish it up while still alive like nothing happened? Man that is cruely and i hate them for their unprofessional dealings with strays. |

One other thing that can help with stray pets. HUMAN education. If you are not in it for breeding. Neuter or spay your dogs!! Prevent unwanted new borns and prevent more stray dogs.

Hmm... you'll probably need a leash to keep them close, a scooper for the poo poo and shampoo if they do jump into the sea. Some dog breeds love the water. Don't think your beagle is one of them. Even if they jump in, i'm sure they won't swim away. Have fun.any advice on what to look for, what to bring, what to do if they jump into the sea? feel free to say anything 10s In regards to spaying, yes it does keep the dog healthier. Many female dogs that are not spayed seem to develop womb infection (especailly those not 'active' in the reproduction cycle). |

Better make sure you dog can obey a few simple commands too before you let it loose like come when you want it to come back. Unless you go to a secluded beach or a private beach, I am sure there will be other people there too. Teach your dog some social etiquette before letting it loose.
Other than that I guess have fun! I am sure your dog will love to be able to run around. M2K2Land, I just read Prince's blog. Really funny and have great pictures. RB This post has been edited by RedBox: Nov 17 2006, 10:30 PM |

Yeah this might be a problem if got chance going to beach. He (GR) like to jump to other people... It that the behaviour of GR? He always excited to kids and girl... jump when he meet anyone of them. I already let him social alot but still very playful. Sometime it scare people (those who are not dog lover and scare dog).Other than that I guess have fun! M2K2Land, looking forward to Prince's blog.
I don't think it is a behavior of GR's only to jump on people. Mine does it too. I have seen many other dogs do it. Usually puppies are more excited and tend to go up to people. Just to share with you what I have been doing to correct this. Not too successful yet but I have seen improvements. You can do this very easily by asking friends help. I first command Mika to sit then have a friend approached her. If she starts getting up and pulling, I tell her to go with me in another direction and then have her sit again. After she settles down, I have my friend approach again. If she starts pulling and wanting to jump, I have my friend stop approaching and either go in another direction or just stand still. Until she can settle down and sit properly, she will not get pet and hugs from anyone. My goal is to teach her if she jumps then no one pays attention to her. Currently, she still gets excited but I can tell she is more hesitant now to jump on people after I have her sit and go 'epp epp' very loudly to tell her no! I do the same now when I come home. If she gets all excited and jump, I shut the door and issue the command 'sit'. Until she can sit properly and be calm, I will not come in to pet her. This has been very successful. My other goal is to get her to sit further away from the door. She usually sits too close to the door so I cannot open it. She goes through the same training too when I take her for walks. As we approach the door, if she pulls and jumps, I will stand still until she understands that if she continues to pull and jump, she will not get her walk. After she settles down, I tell her to sit and then wait. I then approach the door, open it and step outside. If she decides to come forward without waiting for my command to come, I shut the door and go back to the same spot I want her to sit and wait, and repeat. This has also been very successful. She now sits until I tell her to come towards the door. RB This post has been edited by RedBox: Nov 20 2006, 11:32 PM |

If you allow your dog to enter your house then vacumm is must. 1 week - 2 weeks (depend on condition) bath him... Those are cleaning process. Yap, training is good so that you & your doggy's life will get better!
All my dogs are trained, outdoor ones at specific area while indoors paper trained. Put in your effort today and you will enjoy later on. Well lazy today & get disasters later on! |

american cocker spaniel have long droppy ears, you need to take care of it as it gets soiled very easily when he/she is eating/drinking/sniffing the floor etc. the fur tangle quite easily therefore daily brushing also look out for skin problem. they also shed alot. but ofcos they are adorable - oh you need to trim it's coat 2-3mths to maintain the look.
ms are not very noisy. what i like is ms very easy to live with as they are completely friendly to all my family members. ofcos problem in maintaining the janggut pugs - need to take care of the eyes cos they jutts out of the face shih tzu - too femiline and furry for me hehe. also they are bit blur |

just take into consideration the required time for getting the acs - they are not like gr. if you think you can manage - then by all means take it |

Well one thing you really need to aware of is they really sheds a lo0Ot! but of corse if it is not a problem for u then this is nothing serious.
Bathing for them is time consuming, especially to dry them up, it takes up to 3 hours! |

wei dun frighten m2k2land ....... nah it dun take that long - just make sure you bath them in the morning when there is sun and after that just tie the leash to gate in the sun for awhile and let the doggy do the job - then only proceed to dry with hair dryer

Yeah mine is maltese!
but we cut her hair short short cos she very messsy ah..den she like to bite bite her paws like siao liddat and become very irritated with her own hair, so in the end we are forced to cut her hair super short. and she's quite evil also, like to bite bite. |

QUOTE(nairud @ Dec 2 2006, 01:35 PM) no lah...heh heh. i think there are slight differences in temperament between the breeds of Terriers. A westie is definitely not as hyper as a Yorkie or a JRT. Mine lived in an apartment for 1 and 1/2 years without issues. |

That's what many people told me when I go out for walks with my dog. However, it is not that that bad. Mika currently eats 6 cups to 6 1/2 cups a day. I mixed some Purina Alpo can food. She likes the taste of it and it helps soften the kibbles a little. Those are like USD0.50 a can and I can usually divide a can into a few meals. The bag of food ranges from USD24.99 to USD 26.99 (I think it's a 30lb bag, cannot remember. I'll check tonight)Aiseh, a lot of ppl here understand hockean one la, i face no problem speak Hockean in KL, most oso can speak especially hawkers rite, they can speak hockean more than mandarin. yeah seriously if you dont have the time (working all this), dont get a dog. they tend to get some behaviourial problems if you leave them unattended, destructive all this.

It is best to have a dog if you have a landed property.... why? So you won't get into trouble and also the dog can have freedom and feel happy.
No shedding and no barking.... go get a Basenji but then you would have to import that breed and it would cost you RM5k above just to import that dog... Eating poo, not all shih tzus do it... you haven't been reading enough.... any breed of dog can eat back their own stool if they have a digestive or gut problem. So don't just think only shih tzu eat back their poo. I agree with GTR, do not get a dog now.... get it only when you have ample space, live in a landed house and have the time for a dog. A dog is very different from a rabbit or small animal... I spend almost 14 hours a day with my dogs and they require so much care compared to my small animals, I only need to spend say 15 minutes to 30 minutes with each small animal... If I were staying in an apartment, I would wait for a day where I can have a landed home so that the dog can have the best throughout his or her life. |

If he does not sit, do not bring him out until he sit. When time passes, he will understand that he can only go out through your command.Of corse at times when u open the door, he might want to rush out, juz say a firm NO! + the above method, he will learn. |

I would not hit the dog first if he does not understand wht u want.U can try this....(i hope it works) Since he does not understand, hv to start by creating a controlled environment...ie..leash him before he can make the mistake. Hv a long lead and leash him up. Open the gate and he will try to run out. Make sure u hv the leash in hand (controlled) and tell him a firm "NO". He will choke himself abit. Do this very often...and soon enough he should understand what "no" means.. Just my RM 0.02.. This post has been edited by RealityDreamer: Dec 25 2006, 11:06 PM |

When he bite your hand, say NO! then ignore him. Next thing to do is grab his favourite toy, & play with him, if he chew the toy rather than your hand, praise him a lot. Dogs love to be praised & always want to amaze the owner, so after sometime, he will understand it & do what he is being praised for.
While for dog eating poo, it might be due to the type of food u feeding, what are you feeding your dog? |

you've got to train your dog - start by simple "no". say it sternly. don't fool around with the dog when you are angry - the dog can sense it when you are unhappy with him/her. it takes time. i too train my dog like realitydreamer - always leash your dog when going for walk. eg dog like to rush out and pull you along on the leash. just stop and say "no". after that wait for dog to calm down and settle down. ask the dog to sit, then when you are ready to walk give command like "go"/"heel". when dog pull ahead again stop. overtime he/she will understand to heel.

Actually, a dog's intelligence has nothing to do with it's breed. My family ( including my two brothers' dogs ) have 7 dogs. Three shih-tzus, two Goldens, one St.Bernard and one Rottweiler mix.
The Rottweiler mix is the most intelligent and the dumbest and most stubborn is the male Golden. If I scold him for chewing shoes ( he's 2 yrs old already ), the Golden will go sit and face a wall the whole day. Call him also won't listen. Aii... It's the dog's personality that's most important. You can own the most expensive dog ever but if it's just plain stubborn and dumb, there's nothing much you can do about it. But whatever it is, I still love those furry buggers. ^^ Love 'em love 'em love 'em! |

Yap, agree intelligence of dogs are not so depends on the breed they are, even if they do, the major factor is still depends on the patience, consistency & attentions the owner able to provide.
Given the most intelligence dog with an owner without the above factors, then it would be a failure, the dogs wont learn anything anyway. But given the not so obedient or slow learner dogs, with a pattionate owner, they are able to learn & improve with consistency. |

it's impt to show the dog who is the dominant. you see your pet will treat you as part of the pack (dogs live in pack in the wild so it's the same with our domesticated doggy). therefore you must show you are the dominant pack leader - then they will fall inline and behave. remember you are the owner not the doggy control you |

Sometimes, it is their instinct for them to eat grass in order to search for "natural remedy" when they are not feeling well.

But the other shih tzu likes to be carried and patted..will always come to me |

Not really, it actually depends how old your dog is. They tend to have an affinity with grass-eating, a trait that you should put a stop to as soon as possible. Otherwise, if you do have potted plants that's the next thing they'll graduate to eating. I used to have the same problem when I had a dog. Just say 'NO' in a commanding voice the next time you catch it munching on grass. Over time your dog will not eat grass. Unless your dog suddenly decided to be vegetarian. |

QUOTE(wizardboy @ Dec 31 2006, 02:35 AM) they have personalities, some dogs when they're puppy, they dont really like to play with humans, they like to play among themselve. but if they're alone, they will come. but u must always let them know who's the master. i do have problem with my gf's doberman when he was a puppy, never listen to commands and extreamly plalyful. about a year later; now, he's matured and totally a loveable dog. and both our maltese, doberman and a cat seems to live in a happy family. seriously, the cat will want to pat the doberman, doberman will make noise calling for the cat, the maltese sleep together with the cat. who says dogs and cats fight? Very good to hear that, hope Trump do bond well with you guys. |
