Hey guys, to those that swears by Dell, this is my first time ordering from dell online and it is a huge dissapointment with the efficiency. Delivery date starts with the word "estimated" and the paragraph that follows contains too many "if"..when you talk to the customer service, you'll get the usual "there's nothing we can do"...

Laptop is delayed 4 days now...and reason given was because the backpack that comes with it has not arrived due to some inefficient supplier and the entire package has to be delivered together. In order to get it separated, it takes 3 levels of approval from so called " higher management " .....so what happened to customer service?

If we buy 5470 free DOS, later can get driver for windows xp?

5470 don't have FreeDOS spec.
And for any new laptop models that come FreeDOS, don't pitch your hope on drivers for WinXP, count your lucky star if brands released drivers for W7 (if at all)

Hi guys, I made an online transaction for the 5460 sometime last week.. and honestly I had no idea about the 5470 and its specs. I have checked the order status and it still says "Order Received". According to their FAQ here:

it says that can cancel the order as long as its not written "In production" or "Shipped". I paid 2199 for the 5460 and just now realized can get the 5470 with RM50 added. Really worried and anxious here lol.. I have mailed them awaiting their reply. Hopefully will reply by morning. I just hope it works out. Any similar experience with anyone here? What do you guys think about the possibilities?

It mostly protects their own back from getting burned...sometimes, as consumers, we need to make a stand for ourselves as well, unless you enjoy living under rules, laws, terms and conditions. They said 2 weeks, I gave them 2 weeks, after 2 weeks, i gave them the benefit of doubt for another 4 days with their reasons..after that, to be fair, it doesn't mean they can do anything they want to us and corner us consumers with corporate inefficiency.

i think this is 5470, but there is a vostro logo on the top left corner on the screen which not shown in the dell product page. 2nd, there is "blank space" for touchscreen.
