I dont understand. Everytime i start the laptop, my HDD activity is at 100% for at least a good 10 minutes before it goes to normal. And in this 10 minutes, everything is lagging.

I did monitor my task manager, and i've also googled up the few applications thats hogging the HDD activity and they all seem to be pretty important services. Example: Service Host, Antimalware Executable, System..etc

anyone else experience this? or is there something wrong with my HDD

Some of the services at start up by default should be 'start delayed'.. try to disable some services if it make any diff.

Great news!!!

I finally managed to boot to the USB cd-rom and successfully installed win7 pro onto the SSD after trying on different bios setting and also different USB ports to connect the USB cd-rom.

I bought 2 units of 5460 for my kids early 2013 and I'm thinking of getting the 5470 version before yearend closing for tax rebate purposes coz i didn't claim it when I bought for my kids back in 2013.

And I was thinking of replacing the HDD with SSD for both speed and weight. Will it work? I have no problems with weak wifi card coz there plenty of adapters out there.

Do share with us if you manage to replace the hdd with ssd.. it will greatly help others who want to upgrade their lappy
