Hi guys, I made an online transaction for the 5460 sometime last week.. and honestly I had no idea about the 5470 and its specs. I have checked the order status and it still says "Order Received". According to their FAQ here: http://www.dell.com/support/contents/my/en...-change-returnsit says that can cancel the order as long as its not written "In production" or "Shipped". I paid 2199 for the 5460 and just now realized can get the 5470 with RM50 added. Really worried and anxious here lol.. I have mailed them awaiting their reply. Hopefully will reply by morning. I just hope it works out. Any similar experience with anyone here? What do you guys think about the possibilities?

I have just received my Vostro 5470 ordered directly from Dell website. I switched it on at first, did the initial setups, checked a bit and then turned it off. I turned it on after 10-15 mins, it wont boot. A blank screen appears with a continuous beep sound. Anyone any idea whats happening?  I tried turning it off and on its still the same.  Please someone reply!

Its 8 beeps exactly. Does that mean its an LCD failure? Seriously? On a brand new laptop just opened about half an hour ago?

Yeah they offered me a refund, unit replacement or lcd replacement. I had no other option than the lcd replacement since I will be out of Malaysia after three weeks and unit replacement would take 20days++. This is really frustrating. The whole new laptop feeling has been ruined. Probably got a really bad unit.

Thanks nexus2238! I hope it is not a major issue. @azerak, yes the one i bought is not a touchscreen. Both touchscreen/non-touchscreen are available. I think windows 7 on 5470 is not available as default as far as i know (correct me if i am wrong).

The technician came today and replaced the lcd. Took roughly about 40-50 minutes. No problem so far but I am still considering a refund. The new feeling has vanished too quick, lol.
