Want to ask you if you are sure your device support 5GHz? If it does, sounds like the 5GHz antenna is screwed.
*
yup, all my existing device have no problem getting 5G from my current TPLink c5

Send it back to warranty if available.

Please stop buying Asus routers from unauthorized channel. A lot of them have issues especially those China units.
*
ok, noted. will send it back for warranty. Just wanted to make sure if I really miss out something before sending it back.

Thanks guys

Hi guy, i just bought the AC1300uhp after reading review from Blacktubi biggrin.gif , i am on unifi 300mb package.

Is it normal to get only 60 - 90mb download using 2.4g even i am just beside the router.
I understand that is hard to get full speed using 2.4g due to interference but just feel that 60 -90mb download seems a little too low, i manage to get higher speed using the stock router Tplink ac1200 that unifi provided.

Lan and 5g is manage to get full speed.

i am using same router, 800mbps.

yes, 2.4ghz wifi will not get u >100mbps; at >50ft, u will get at best 50mbps.

stock router gives about the same.

and correct too - use 5ghz as much as possible to get max wifi speed.

so, change out devices to new as u need!

ac1300uhp is better in that it is very stable, ethernet or wifi.

Wanna ask, is there a way to force a 5GHz-only connection on the Lyra...? Or disable 2.4GHz altogether...?

Nope. The whole point of mesh is it combines band steering and AP steering.

Hi milky,

Depending on your house size and the Internet speed you have.

Good thing about AiMesh, is that you can have the full features of the normal router have and in future you can just add in any supported AiMesh models you like.

You can refer to the link below for more details.

https://www.asus.com/AiMesh/

Thank you

Hi KvinC,

Maybe you can try changing the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi channel until you can get the best result.

Wireless-> General->Control Channel

Thank you

ASUSmy I just bought the ROG GT-AC5300
Unfortunately, I can only set the IPTV port to port 1/2 or 5/6

Can you advise the firmware engineer so that I can set port 8 for the UniFi HyppTV
I want to reserve the last port for the UniFi HyppTV

Hi,

Recently I had switch to Maxis Fibre but I found that their VoIP must be connected from the router side. Unfortunately i wanted to change the router to use my previous one, Asus RTN66U which is actually better than the one they provided. but I also wanted to keep my phone(VoIP) on, how should i setup to make sure it works?

any helps will be great!

Thank you

Hi ulala2,

You can use the RT-AC55UHP as repeater mode.

Hi milky,

I cannot tell how much it will drop because it depend on environment but what I can say is it is better than repeater mode.

Hi St. Teh,

There is no setting, it is plug and play.

Have you try testing using different server? And may I know what router model are you using?

Thank you
