ASUS RT-N16 hasn't receive any firmware update for quite some time.
I wonder if ASUS has already abandoned firmware development for RT-N16. hmm.gif

Hi sHawTY,

Do you have any problem with this firmware? Feel free to let me know.

Thank you
Haven't flash to that yet as from what I've read, if the device dies while using BETA firmware, warranty is void.

Hi sHawTY,

If the firmware are from our website, you can flash it. It will not void your warranty.

Thank you
Owh okay.
Will try 3.0.0.4.354 soon.

RT-N16 firmware 3.0.0.4.354 (BETA) is disappointing.
The General Log in System Log will stop after a while.

Unlike the previous firmware, it logs everything.

Hi sHawTY,

As I heard from my RD, they have reduced some of the log on the routers. Those log on RD can understand will be hidden.  hmm.gif

Thank you
Is there anyway I can re-enable the log like in the previous firmware?
Also, when is the next stable firmware for RT-N16 going to come out? It feels like forever.

Or is it ASUS has stopped the development of firmware for RT-N16?

Hi

I'm looking for this Asus router RT-AC68U. Can't seem to find it any where. All the places seem to be out of stock.

Do you know where have stock and when will have stock coming?

Thank you.
Have you tried asking feiton?
Too bad the price has increased.
Previously feiton was selling it at RM680. sad.gif

QUOTE(wengjoe @ Jan 19 2014, 11:12 AM)
so are you saying that I could just hook up the RT-N12HP with the BTU, follow the necessary setup and unifi will work ?
Yes.
QUOTE(wengjoe @ Jan 19 2014, 11:12 AM)
because I was told that RT-N12HP is a router only, not like D-Link DIR-615 where is a combination of router/modem.
Once you choose UniFi mode in the RT-N12HP setup, then it will act as a modem + router just like the DIR-615.

By the way, why are you upgrading to RT-N12HP?
DIR-615 & RT-N12HP doesn't have any discernible performance differences except for wireless strength.
The RT-N12HP doesn't even have a USB port. sweat.gif

If you really want to upgrade, you should go to for at least RT-N56U.
If you're looking for a router with external antennas, go for RT-N16, then you can change the antenna to anything you want.

Those USB ports are very useful. You can turn a USB printer into a network printer.
You can also connect external harddisk into the USB port so that you can share the storage & you can also download torrent without turning on any of your laptop / desktop.

RT-N16 & RT-N56U offers a lot more than what RT-N12HP can offer you. Like Gigabit ethernet, DLNA server & etc.

I read quite a number of review regarding this router providing excellent Wifi signal which fit into my scenario.
Hence the reason why I suggested RT-N16.
You can buy the RT-N16 first, then if you're not satisfied with it's wireless performance, you can upgrade the antennas by yourself.

Hello, I recently bought a RT-N12 D1, the Asus rep told me that the router could act as a VPN Client, but apparently the sales rep doesn't know crap. The router can operate as a VPN SERVER, not client.

Any way to get this fixed? I would like an out of the box compatible with Unifi/Maxis router that has VPN Client configurations.
Get Tomato / DD-WRT / OpenWrt in that router.
Don't ask me how. Google.

Hello,
Does Asus RT-N15U have a new firmware? That supports unifi of course.

I'm currently on v3.0.0.4.364.
The latest firmware available in ASUS support website for RT-N15U is Version 3.0.0.4.374.4422.

Are u using this router?
Nope. I'm using RT-N16 & RT-AC68U.
QUOTE(romeo57 @ Feb 14 2014, 09:01 PM)
Does this support unifi?
Not sure about RT-N15U.
But all firmwares for my RT-N16 & RT-AC68U available in ASUS website has native support for UniFi.

Maybe ASUSmy can answer your question.

In LAN > IPTV, do u have unifi options in "Select ISP profile"?
Yes.
Both RT-N16 & RT-AC68U has that option.

HyppTV works perfectly without any issues.

My RT-N16 on latest firmware (3.0.0.4.376.2678), the LEDs for LAN1, LAN2 ,LAN3 ,LAN4 & WAN will not light up everytime I reboot the router.

The LEDs will only be back up once I disconnect & reconnect the AC Adaptor.

Only the LEDs will not light up. Everything else is working perfectly.

Note 1:
The Power & WiFi LEDs is not affected.

Note 2:
Not sure if the same problem occurs with the previous firmwares as this has never happened before so I didn't check.

I don't use hypptv and want LAN port 4 to be free for other devices.
Just buy a switch, then you can connect as much devices / computers as you want.
5 port 100Mb ethernet switch is around RM21.
5 port Gigabit ethernet switch is around RM47.

Thank you for the feedback, I will let our RD know regarding the new firmware issue.

Thank you
Hello ASUSmy.
I just tried using 3.0.0.4.374.5517 firmware on my RT-N16 & it's not affected with the LED problem.
Looks like the LED issue is only in 3.0.0.4.376.2678 firmware.

On another note I read some people able to set wifi tx to 200mW and above but I cant seem to see the setting.
That setting can only be adjusted through telnet/SSH.
It's not visible in the settings.

PS:
By increasing the transmit power, you will also increase the operating temperature.
So unless you have a way to improve the cooling, don't do it under any circumstances.
