Not in this case, they will not waive the RM600 no matter what. This is spell out clearly before you sign up for this particular card. If you feel RM600 is not worth paying for 60k enrich miles, look elsewhere.
*
For me the RM600 is worthwhile for the 60k miles so I'm not too bothered. But of course if they could waive it after, it'd be a bonus rclxms.gif

Hi guys,

Just wanted to share, I have only 1 clear card with CTB, still have balance in EPP and CTB, got my AF waived by emailing to them. (Coming to second year with CTB)
rclxms.gif wonder how they judge
*
Well, different story i got from citibank when i called them to waive my AF.

They said this year different from year b4 & cannot waive my AF, that 195 + 100..

my 1 year cash rebate also not enough to cover the AF.

Really disappointed with the feedback & threaten them to cancel it.

They said cannot do anything also.

Then after that i email them again politely but still no feedback still now..

Hope they can waive it..

Redundant

I called in 3 times and asked 3 diff person for the waiver... still empty handed... the 3rd call ensured me the card cancellation... they did it happily in less than 10 mins... I checked online via citibank online and the card is gone just 10 mins after the phone call... very efficient!

Great, another informative news  thumbup.gif

if i read the T&C correctly, 2nd year category AF can be waived according to our 1st year spending, which is free for every rm15k spend.. so, if i spend more than rm15k in 1st year, can consider to sign 1 category on 2nd year..

Recently, I applied for only Clear card, but they gave me 2 cards (Clear Mastercard & Rewards Platinum Visa).
Now i received 2 statements to pay GST for 2 cards amounted RM100. I am a bit reluctant to pay for the Rewards Platinum Visa since I never applied for it. But, want to check some facts with help from you all:

1. I am getting 2 categories that they already assigned to me (Driving & Entertainment-cannot change this year) free for the 1st year. So, I dont have to pay the AF RM200.
2. I can waive my GST this year if I made 3 swipes within 60 days from approval. Nevertheless, still have to pay 1st this month as they will deduct in upcoming month.
3. For the 2nd year, I do not wish to subscribe to any category, therefore, can I retain the card while not having any subscribed categories? With that, I wont have to pay unnecessary fees/charges to them except for GST. Or, I have to cancel it then and transfer my point to my Clear card?

Oh yeah, for Clear card users, I heard that TGV wont be extending the Friday 1-for-1 ticket offer next year. Any of u know what about GSC & Cathay?

I will answer for the 2 cards part. Lodge a formal complaint direct to Bank Negara. Banks or rather, agents should be reprimanded for this. Too many cases already. In future, be careful with your application form.

funny how citibank call another person as 'verification' of a application and then reject the application only to find out they called the wrong person.

Yeah, how did they pull that of? Coz i remember signing for Clear card application only. Lucky I still remember the agent's name & even got his namecard. Thanks for your idea.

Funny thing is, I already call Citibank to check on that matter, assuming that I am to cancel the 2nd card. But, they keep telling me they will follow up in few days, but till now, nothing. That's why I want to know whether it is worth keeping the 2nd card if no fees required to be paid for the following year.

Simple, you might have left the boxes for other cards untick/tick so the agent may simply tick them. To avoid this, cancel out all unwanted cards. Another, when you crossed the photocopy of your IC, do state that it is for the clear card application only.

Whether it is worth or not, you may check and compare..and if you do decide to keep it, then the agent may not be reprimanded and even get the commission. So they are just taking their chances and there will be future victims if this is not reported to Bank Negara.

i just applied for cash back plati & reward plati cards as the SA said now Citi promote take 2 cards. i am a bit confused.... too many terms cant absorb in short time.
1. activation of card & AF waived for first year with 3 swipe within 2 months?
2. RM50 bonus with 3 swipe for each card to offset the GST?
3. reward plati card swipe 2k within 2 months to get 20k points?
4. cash back or reward plati card swipe >1k within 2 month to get the luggage?

thanks..

Call CS to try your luck on waiver request.

Or if you have sufficient points for redemption, use it for this purpose.

Yup, just cancelled my CC after 15+ years with Citibank. 10 minutes after cancelling it, i checked online, you can login but the card details are no longer visible. Funnily enough, the bill payment merchants I saved are still there. You can't even check the previous statements etc online anymore.

Feels like that their customer service aren't as nice/good compared to last time. Totally subjective feeling but curious to know if everyone here is happy with their service especially long timers?

Wow, why cancel after so many years of holding the card. Did the CS try to persuade you not to cancel?

Not really, they actually pass to the dept that handles the CC cancellation process. But I kinda got into an argument with that dept due to they delayed the cancellation. So maybe that dept officer wasn't too happy either hahaha. Anyway, in the beginning of the call, she didn't really persuade also, just promoting CTB only, saying they got cashback promotions from time to time, got extra rewards points etc...typical sales talk. That's why I feel like they didn't treat me like a long time customer, but that's normal I guess.

Besides that, not much promo's for my card either...so I guess it was time. tongue.gif
