What are people's views on the Citibank AMEX Premiermiles card which offers the 60,000 complimentary Enrich miles?

Looks like there's a RM600 annual fee, and you need to spend RM3K within the first 3 months to get 60,000 Enrich miles, seems like a good deal or am I missing something?

Have a Look at,
Citi PremierMiles American Express® Card Promotion T&Cs: https://www.citibank.com.my/premiermiles-am...PM_TnC_2013.pdf
*
Thanks I read through those, unclear on one thing - the conversion of 30,000 PremierMiles to Enrich miles for the second 30,00 bonus, those need to be additional 30,000 points - rather than converting the 30,000 initially given on sign up?

By my calcuation .:

RM2 spend on Citibank Premiermiles Amex = 1 Enrich Mile
RM2 spend on Maybank2 Amex = 10 Maybank Treatspoints = 1.43 approx Enrich mile (based on 1:7 as per Treatspoints catalogue)

If you need to collect an additional 30K points it doesn't really seem worth it (RM60K spend!) but might still be OK for the initial 30K points whistling.gif

Guess I need to work out the monetary value of Enrich points (savings on flights) to see what makes sense.

Example flight KUL > LHR Return would normally cost RM3884

With full redemption using Enrich miles it costs 51000 miles + RM1910

So 51000 miles have a monetary value of RM1974 / RM0.0387 per mile.

This means the initial miles are worth about RM1161 (RM561, after deducting the RM600 annual fee)

Citibank spend comes to RM2 = RM0.0387 = 1.935%

Under the assumption that RM60K spend is required for additional 30K bonus points , it works out to :
RM60K = return 30000 miles (RM1161 value) + additional 30000 miles bonus (RM1161 value) which combined would give 3.87% return - doesn't seem too bad (if you reach the 60K spend of course, that is)

So I guess it doesn't work out too much of a bad deal (if you'll use the flights that is) but in comparison to Maybank2 cards, after the promotion is over that gives a better return in regards to RM/Enrich points

haha let's do a calculation here.... 5250 pts = RM5250?

So assuming RM5250 = 1.5k enrich miles therefore RM3.50 per miles compare to citibank premier miles is 2 = 1miles that's a very huge difference.

If i would want to apply for a travel card then will have to do some comparison with other banks.. citibank premier miles, maybank kris flyer, what else? Let's see what other promotion does other banks offer
*
I'm going to try and apply for this Citibank Promotion, see if I can get accepted or not.

But for building up enrich miles after it seems Maybank2 is the better option (there's a separate thread for this) and Maybank VI even better (but more difficult to get)

Edit : Not sure why it double posted. I think Citibank card not worth keeping after the first year due to RM600 annual fee - unless you really travel a lot as it includes unlimited access to Plaza Premium lounges in Malaysia + others around Asia.

Maybank IV? I am surfing mbb website but can't find it. Mbb2 is better option because of their combo of cash back and rewards points but it is not meant for redeeming travel points so its a bit different form the current card.

For RM600 to have a return ticket for 2 to Japan, why not? Putting assumption that you are traveling in 24-28 oct airasia price is RM1,625/ person while mas is RM2,413 /person.. worth the trip right?
*
Maybank VI = Visa Infinite, VISA card where you redeem TP 4500 = 1000 Enrich miles, vs. MBB2 which is 7000 TP = 1000 Enrich miles. RM1 spend = 2 x TP local, 5 x TP oversears.

RM600 for the first year I think is worthwhile, but after that it doesn't work out worthwhile (unless you want to use the lounge frequently!)

If you calculate the return based on spend the Citibank Premiermiles comes to around 1.935% back, whereas MBB2 2.76-2.77% (based on redeeming Enrich miles)

Maybank VI would equate to local spend 1.72% (better off using Maybank2 Amex if retailer accepts it) and foreign spend with 5xTP 4.29%

If you Fly Regularly with Singapore Airlines You also can consider Getting Maybank's Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Amex Gold Credit Card, Which gives You 1000 KrisFlyer miles for every RM2000.
This Clearly Outshine RHB Travel Money, Which Offer only 500 Krisflyer miles = RM3000 Spend

But Anyway, RHB Travel Money is the BEST Travel Card at Entry Level for Newbies with Income Requirement of RM24k p.a can Apply already
+ Annual Fee Waiver Subject to 12x Swipes p.a  http://www.rhb.com.my/cards/credit-card/cc...money_main.html

Maybank's Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Amex Gold Credit Card: http://www.maybank2u.com.my/mbb_info/m2u/p...sonal/CRD-Cards

I never use Singapore Airlines so not interesting for me

I can't see the details on the RHB site , how many TP per RM spent does it work out to?

Does anyone here use FD to take Citibank card rather than providing proof of income documents etc? I'm a foreigner and Citibank on the phone told me if I want a CC with FD I should open a Citigold account (ie. deposit 200K shocking.gif ) . Looking to apply for the Amex PremierMiles card

Does a foreigner not build up a CCRIS/CTOS record after a while of holding Malaysian issued cards?

Nah i think most of us here just pass them our ID and we are on our way for approval, thats what i did when i applied for PremierMiles Amex they just need to scan and print my ID (including filling up form)

You might wanna call the bank because most of the bank now do not need your payslip
*
Yeah, being a foreigner is different unfortunately . When I called them they ask me to deposit RM200K to get a Citigold account.

Anyway, I'll try to get into a branch next week and see if I can apply with just a normal FD against the card.

Citibank invites you to a complimentary 3D2N stay @ the exclusive Anantara resort in Bali/Phuket. Book by 30 Nov by calling .... T&C Apply

Anyone getting this SMS? So fishy  hmm.gif

Googled it and came across this (on a SG forum, so maybe Citibank SG have the same promotion?)

I've got it too. Letter says that in order to redeem free holidays of either 4D/3N including taxes or 3D/2N (Holiday Inn Mai Khao Phuket valued at $450 excluding taxes - means taxes are payable) or 3 day Hua Hin voucher or $120 Takashimaya voucher, one has to attend preview session of time share ownership which lasts approx. 90mins.

What is the keyword you googled? I tried but found nothing.

By the way, what is "preview session of time share ownership"? Like a seminar promoting something (MLM style)? and sit there for 90 mins?
*
This is the thread I came across : http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/eat-drin...bs-3950743.html

I don't know much about timeshare - I believe they hard sell you to "buy" a hotel room / holiday villa which you can then use for a certain amount of days per year.

I asked today RE minimum spend for fee waiver on PremierMiles Amex card and the staff didn't know, seems there isn't a set amount? Will try my luck after using the card some time, see if can be waived or not

Well I called them the other day and according to them the application for CC was only submitted on 1st November. Actually it was done on the same day as placing the FD (25th Oct, according to the statement they sent me ) and asked me to wait until 14 days working days is up.

Anyway considering the amount of strange questions they asked me when I did the application I'm not surprised there is a delay blink.gif

Received PremierMiles Amex today.

By the way - how to sign up for online statement etc? The sign up page asks for a PIN and seems to require a savings acc.?

The day I visited the branch was 25th October. First delivery attempt by Poslaju was on Monday (11 November)

No idea regarding annual fee / GST waiver.

Used the taxi home promotion on Sunday/Monday. Had a very late arrival (2AM) so there was midnight charge to pay which apparently isn't covered.

Still, RM44 instead of RM137 is not bad really.

Also 15% off all spirits at duty free biggrin.gif
