How would you feel if your artwork which you poured so much effort into was chopped with someone's name on it? Same case here for the Apple-Samsung war.
Tim Cook said Apple had deliberately tried to warn Samsung many times before pursuing them in court, and they even offered Samsung to license their patents. They chose to sue Samsung as a last resolution to protect their values and patents.

Does Apple's win stagnate innovation growth in the mobile sector? NO. First of all, Apple is the one who started the market, and Samsung is one who improves this market. Take a look at the iPhone introduced on the year 2007 which had changed the mobile landscape, the iPad which popularized the tablet market. And what market did Samsung started?

Samsung is guilty. It is proven in court and copying the iPhone on their Galaxy S and devices proves their desperation to catch-up to the smartphone market. However, their claim that their loss only stifles competition is definitely wrong. There are many ways to innovate and create stuff, or at least they can license those patents first!

Android fans have this idea that great innovations and ideas from Apple should be shared with android for the good of the consumers! They think that copying is good for the consumers as it make the product cheaper.

But when is copycat ever good for the consumers? Copying kills innovation as it results in nothing new. Innovations happens when you are force to make something different and better.

i don't have an iphone, but i have a ipad. maybe those iphone users can list what iphone 4s can DO that a....., lets say take the most popular brand now,.... samsung s3 cannot. i not really looking for features, but what it can really do. for example if u say retina display, ok that's good, but retina display doens't make u do anything. or if u say "less lag". ok that's good, but less lag doesn't make u do anything.

btw, this is a geniune question (i really want to know - ok maybe i already know coz an ipad is nearly like an iphone, but i don't claim to know everything). but i know it will heat things up. but what the hell.

I don't think it's fair to compare the 4s and S3 because one is based on last year's technology, one was manufactured this year.

Maybe the unique thing about Apple iPhone is, they have lesser buttons on the device. Take the shortcut keys from Samsung or Android device for example, the two 'touch sensitive' button beside the home button. Yeah, Apple don't have those, makes it unique in a way that a simple home button on the surface is good enough because our home buttons are multifunctional. Just my two cents.

ok use iphone 5 then. but it will be more theory coz its not out yet. or use ios 6 since the beta is out. the point is use the latest.

lesser buttons are good, but i am looking at a result oriented perspective. coz we sometimes use our phones to get results.

let me give u one, but is for ipad. when i want to display the multitask panel, i can do it faster with the ipad. coz i just take 4 fingers and push it up to display the multitask panel. on my s3, i have to press the home button for about 1 - 2 seconds to make that happen. of course i have installed some third party tools so that now i just need to double tap a spot at the extreme side of the screen to display multitask screen, but that feature is not on stock s3. so the results is , on stock ipad it allows me to do a faster switch to another running app than s3.

obviously, u do not understand the real meaning.

refer here.
QUOTE
Steve Jobs said, “Good artists copy great artists steal"

When Picasso and later SJ said it, they meant that every artist is influenced by what has been done before their time. If not by direct exposure, the information the artist is exposed to through other people, media, etc. influences them. We are all a product of our times and have the benefit of those who have walked similar paths we are now on.

We all borrow because it has all been done before and we are not the originators. To merely copy is to take an existing interpretation and not run away with it. To steal an idea is to take something of value and make it yours. To make an artistic element yours you have to interpret it your way with your own approach.

This cannot be done when you are merely copying the idea. When copying the idea you are just doing everything exactly like it was previously done. When you have done it your way you have used the element and not simply duplicated it.

It is not required that you advance the element. You can go sideways and even backwards with the idea and you can be stealing the element and not copying it. On the contrary, when merely copying the element you have failed if you do not match the original

Sometimes I really cant under these Americans writing all these crap. They rather a foreign company copy an American idea just so that they can play with their little Samsungs......

One thing i like about the iPad is, the 5 fingers 'grab and close' function. It's like wiping away the screen regardless of anything that you are currently doing, very convenient indeed. I don't have an iPad, not in favor of one but I noticed some functions of the iPad has, the iPhone/iPod Touch don't. Full YouTube experience, Calender cum organizer etc.

What about the battery life of the S3? I think the most important feature of a smartphone should be the sustainability of the battery. I'm sure nobody wants a smartphone with a weak battery life right? thumbup.gif

2 most important patents that Apple hold against Android. Pinch to zoom and Double tap to zoom.

This little things that Apple created is the main reasons phones becomes so useful today and android fans took it for granted and assume it is theirs to use freely.

Take away this features from Android and S3 or Note 2 or Nexus will be useless.

S3 battery life is reasonable. for normal usage it can last for 2 days or more. Heavy usage the most is 1 day. Some site say S3 battery life is better than IP4s but I would think it all depend how the phone being use and setting control.

Added on September 1, 2012, 3:06 pmI think Apple success is perfecting a lot of idea and make them ease of use in user point of view.
