well, maybe because they chose option 2 because by sueing samsung, they know they can get the money to do R&D for futher apple products rather then choose to copy samsung and gives the impression to people that apple has no more idea..hehe

what about the successor of galaxy series, which is nexus, note and S2 including S3?
did apple sue them all? no!! because its not under they patent and license!
only Galaxy S, Ace and few older gen of galaxy tabs that can be sue under apple.
and for your info, nexus, note, s2 and s3 is all rectangle with rounded corners, just like what u mentioned.
but why it didnt come out in one of the apple patent list?

Apple has always been an innovative company...they invented mutitouch screen device, samsung follows, they invented the ipad, galaxy tabs comes out, apple came out with micro sim, samsung follows. Apple has siri...samsung copy a lil bit and name their's s-voice. IMO, samsung is playing catchup which is good..in which mobile devices nowadays are very competitive and fighting to be top phone makers. Because if no competion, the progression of advance mobile technologies is slow...

im sorry...i shouldn't use the word "invent"...i should use "innovate"..hahaha. apple dont invent..but they innovate...

we consumers just want all to innovate. that includes saling copy mengopy antara satu sama lain. patents are anti competitive and to me should be abolished. i copy u, then innovate, followed by u copy me, then innovate. the old fashion competition. consumers benefit what.

no .. you can not copy as this is same to pirating. If you are NOT the patent holder, you should ask permission and share profit to the patent holder.

many inventions are not patented ... that's why everyone can use them free. once legally patented (as I know, it is very difficult to get a recognised patent), the patent holder could sue whichever pirating company. Apple get patent faster then others, so Apple won.
