Agree with you. Many of the Note II and S3 functions are gimmicky.
Let me list from my experience with both phones:
- SmartStay is quite buggy - To be frank I dont think it's smart. Sometime feel it more like a DumbStay...
- Most (maybe all) of the Motion Sensor functions are useless in real-word usage.
- Multi-Window was interesting for awhile but ended up not using it due to the screen size limitation. Yeah it was great but with limited apps only. If you wanna customize the apps that available for multi window you need to flash dont know what. I believe you need to root.
- Photo gallery may look impressive at first but is irksome to use. It's very messy. So many folder. Take a photo edit it, it make another folder for you with the same photo. Whatsapp another folder.
- Stylus usage of Note II only on first day, then never used again. The AirView function is all show only really and I don't find anything special on the stylus. Airview lebih wan la. I dont know why the sales person so like to show the airview. The reason why i use S pen is everytime after i clean the screen with cloth I dont wan any finger print on it then i will use the pen. But use finger faster a lot la.
- feels just like a PDA. However, artists may love it.
- Too many others but I'll stop here.

* Cannot upload photo to webpage. iOS 6 can do this already....
* Email apps is very very teruk. Black color background with white wording or grey IMO. WTF they think this is cute? How to read....
* Lag of app support. Same apps but in android it sucks. Good example is Talkbox and Instagram.
* Touch screen. This is funny not sure you guys agree on me or not. Although iPhone had a smaller screen but whenever I wanna tap on something it detect accurately but in Note 2 it has a big screen but always wrong. Good example is try to tap on the page number on LYN using Note 2 compare to iPhone. I never need to zoom in when using iPhone but now....
* The customization is great and awesome but problem is now i have finish customize my phone. Launcher, widget, icon etc what I'm gonna do next? Nothing. First week my batter last me 1day. Now I think can go up to 1.5day cos nothing to play anymore while on iPhone quality apps always keep me busy all the time...
The good part of Note 2 or Android was
* Widget. iOS homescreen too boring. Been looking at the same screen since 2 or 3 years ago never change.
* NFC. No joke this is something great. I use it when I reach home, start driving and reach office. I dont need to go thru the setting to turn on or off 3G, Wifi or apps one by one.
* Sharing option. Whenever you snap a photo or print screen immediately you will be given an option to share it out. So damm convenient.
* No need wait and wait and read rumors when launching iPhone 5. No need queue to get the phone. <--- this is the main point I'm switching. Thanks to those dude that spread fake rumors. Karma will land on them soon.
* Can share and like ppl status on Facebook. I remember I saw an article saying iOS also have this update but I just cant find it in my iPad. Maybe it's meant for iPhone which I dont have one now.
* The battery is superb. This phone can last me 1 full day single charge with heavy usage. Some can go up to 2 days with 3G on. No joke...
So far these are the benefit that I've got from porting over to Note 2. After all both phones are great. End of the day the most you use was Messaging, calling, FB and web browsing which both phone can do...
