QUOTE(hengng @ Dec 6 2012, 03:34 PM) I manage to nego with 2 SA in 2 different location and finally manage to get additional RM500 on top of RM5k and free insurance + road tax from one SA. I also getting GPS and tint discount. So in total I got 5K + insurance + road tax + GPS + tint discount. Probably tint discount may not be that attractive but better than nothing. It was a good deal after I surveyed for almost 5 months. Waiting for the loan approval now. My SA is in Sg Besi. |

I wonder why you would take a 2012 model now which would be worth about 10K less come 1 Jan 2013? Are the discounts worth 10K? |

Maybe the discount came to RM10k...5k(rebate) + 500(extra) + 3400(road tax + insurance) + 300 (gps) + 800(tint discount) = RM10k. But the point is unless u wanna keep the car for long term , you can ignore this deficit. Probably in Jan 2013 , you can still get the RM 5k rebate. |

But the point is unless u wanna keep the car for long term , you can ignore this deficit. Probably in Jan 2013 , you can still get the RM 5k rebate. Take the tint discount out as most discounts arent actually discounts. More like top up the initial amount and then offer a discount on this so it entices the customer. So your actual rabate is about RM9,000 which is quite alright. But u need to be a bit careful here. Will this 9K rebate be given for only 2012 manufactured models or will a smaller discount still be offered to 2013 manufactured models later on? As far as i know, Nasim will still offer a discount for even 2013 models to boost sales. Yes it wont be anywhere close to 9k but i would think 3-4k might still be possible. So in actual fact, ure only getting about 6-7K extra discount for a 2012 model. Most ppl try to convince themselves into getting a car now by the same 'i intend to use the car long term' line. But you need to remember that the point is not if the car will last that long but how much would the cost of maintenance be after say 5 yrs. Conti's arent cheap cars to maintain and Peugeots arent an exception. You may not have much issues during the first 2 years or so but trust me, once you pass the 3rd mark, ull see a increase in maintenance costs for sure. Take it from someone who's had 3 Peugeots in the family. On a more general note, Peugeot, Kia and Hyundai are known for their more expensive parts as compared to Jap brands. Part of the reason behind it is demand. When sales are low, part availability is more difficult and more expensive simply because of the economics of scale. Right now, Peugeot sales in some countries are alright but in most countries, sales are still very much average as compared to other conti's. Slightly different scenario with the Koreans whereby worldwide sales have increased. In the KPMG Global Automotive Survey 2012, Hyundai Kia is expected to increase its global market by 63% by 2016. This would be the 2nd highest increase after VW. PSA however is expected to increase its market share by only 32% by 2016. You need to realise that these projected increases are based on current market share in which Hyundai Kia is almost double that of PSA. But the giants like Toyota, GM are still up there as well. So with projected future sales not that exciting, you will continue to see high prices for spares which in turn would mean higher operating costs for owners. This is a problem even for the Korean makes but on a lower level compared to PSA i guess. So in short, although you may have grand plans for long term usage, those plans might be cut short by rising maintenance costs. Plus, every year more n more new models are being churned out. So cars that we drive today would easily become 'outdated' both in terms of looks and tech within less than 5 yrs. As for me, ive set a modest target of 4 years of ownership. But im quite sure my next car wont be a Korean or Jap. Probably a premium conti. This post has been edited by cybermaster98: Dec 8 2012, 01:24 PM |

I've done my 10k servicing and with addition to that, I've provided below list of complain for them to rectify :
1. Rattling on left door/dashboard 2. Rear bumper not aligned 3. Faint knocking sound when turning air-cond in the morning 4. Weird sound when steering to the left 5. Dropped clipped on underside of left front fender At the end of the day... 1. Rattling on left door/dashboard - they've missed this out completely!!! 2. Rear bumper not aligned - they claim they're not famillar with 408 mounting/installation and they have to send to 3rd party bodyshop to rectify 3. Faint knocking sound when turning air-cond in the morning - they claim that it's normal 4. Weird sound when steering to the left - they said something about the hydraulic hose and will require one whole day to fix 5. Dropped clipped on underside of left front fender - FIXED! After few days, new rattling sound emerged from somewhere near the rear seat or bonnet and it's VERY OBVIOUS! However, when there's someone sitting on the rear passenger seat or in the morning or when it's raining, the sound isn't there. So then I've set a new appointment and complain on item 1 - 3. At the end of the day... 1. Rattling on left door/dashboard/rear seat/rear bonnet - They inject some foam in the dashboard for soundproofing and it seems to work. With addition to that, it improves sound insulation coming from the front tyres as well. The one attended my car claim that Pug CBU cars has paddings on their dashboard but not 408 sinc it's CKD. So maybe you guys can complain on dashboard rattling and you'll get better sound proofing. But the faint rattling on the left door is still there. - They've tightened loose screw on the rear seat and claim that there're no rattling after that. But guessed what, after only few meters out of the SC, the rattling appears! Makes me wonder whether they've tested it throughly or not. 2. Rear bumper not aligned - They've dismantled and clipped the bumper back on its mounting but it's still the same. They say it might have to be sent to 3rd party bodywork shop to be rectififed. 3. Faint knocking sound when turning air-cond in the morning - Again, 'it's normal' 4. Weird sound when steering to the left - I didn't include this as part of the complain but mention it to the attending guy. He said they receive few complain on 408NA regarding this issue and it seems that the solution is to upgrade the coupling. But there're no complain from 408T yet. So, I shall set another appointment to resolve issue no. 1 (rattling on rear seat/bonnet), 2 and 4. But I wonder if I could go for another SC instead of going back go Glenmarie SC? Or maybe it's time to call my SA and ask him to push SC to resolve these issues? |

QUOTE(ahui @ Dec 10 2012, 11:50 AM) u get the offer from Peugeot CSL? I wouldn't trust NASA for a dime. Get in writing, you'll have legal recourse if needed. they can simply promise. end up with many excuse. just my experience with them. 508 buyers were promised Malaysian maps for GPS at a later date by SAs,but till today no sign of it. Finally Nasim issued a letter stating no Malaysian maps for 508 GPS. What a load of crap! A large group of owners have teamed up for legal action. I wish them best of luck!
