Bro,easy on the pedal la won't be so thirsty. With the turbo,it is easily said than done....hehehe! But like one of bros said, I too have back seat auto siren.....hehehe. In a way good also,if not sure go gila gila with this engine.

In general 1k is sufficient. However  these modern engines don't need any break in period. As a matter of fact, the manual does not specify any break in period. Manufacturing process has evolved and is quite different from previous methods.
You'll also find on the Internet, hard break in period. It is claimed by driving the new engine hard it moulds into a better fit resulting in better performance.

I think 600km la,the additional 0 might be typo error! 6000km just doen't make sense. Even it was stated in the manual,I would question them if it is printing error!
This not my 1st car,but 1st time to hear 6000km break in!!!

With Peugeot's manual being silent on this,I would agree with you. This is a good and safe practice.Any turbo torque one wants to experience, maybe after 1000km.
My 2cents!

Ya~ Its quite bouncy above 150KM/J, but its more due to the road condition, car still stable as it should be. thumbup.gif  It shouldn't be any problem to hit 200KM/J on good road condition.  icon_rolleyes.gif

Higher profile tires might help to reduce the bouncing feel.

I'm experiencing the rattling sound from right side of dashboard and front left window. The rattling is so noticeable and kind of annoying when I was cruising without the radio on normal federal road. Wondering if anyone is experiencing the same? Will complain to SC during my first inspection. Also, I must say the NASIM assembling work for 408 needs miles of improvement. I noticed that lots of flaws with the assembling work in and outside of the car. Will try to take some photo and post it here to share.

Added on August 22, 2012, 4:26 pmI noticed there are few complaints logged under http://www.facebook.com/peugeotmalaysia about 408 which pending for Peugeot's reply that we should be noticed of.

Update :

The service center in Balakong managed to solved 3 out of 5 issues I logged.

(1) Front passenger door not aligned properly : Fixed

(2) Right side windscreen water nozzle not working : Fixed

(3) Rubber panel at driver side door peel off : Fixed by applying some glue. Smelly car for next few days.

(4) Rattling sound at left side of passenger windows : Not Fixed. Suspecting of windscreen. Need to make another appointment for fixing.

(5) Whizzing sound from steering and right front tyre when turning : Not Fixed. Awaiting for further instruction as they mentioned I'm the first who experienced this.

Anyone experiencing the same?

I've posted my finding of this problem in earlier post.
I've logged a complain of this steering whizzing sound during my 2.5K inspection. Sadly non of the technician know the solution of this. They reported to HQ and now waiting for feedback from HQ of the solution.

Will keep you all updated once available.

Any recommended SC to go to for my first servicing? Current mileage is already 7.7k. Planning to call for appointment for first servicing when mileage reached 8.5k. Below are list of complain I'm preparing :

1.  Rattling on left door
2.  Weird sound on hydraulic power steering (not always) when turning right
3.  Slight drop on rear bumper (left side)
4.  Not so smooth gear shift on lower speed (after resetting the gearbox, it seems to have gone but still noticeable during traffic jam)

That's all I have for now. Planning to go to Glenmarie but based on the high volume of Pug they're receiving everyday, I'm in doubt whether they can solve all the problem quickly.

Seems like quite a numbers of us are facing the same issue with whizzing sound from steering and rattling sound from left door. Hopefully SC will have the solution soon especially for the steering.

Number of Pugs in Malaysia has increased. Any Peugeot SC in Klang valley will see high volume. I would still try Glenmarie or Balakong.I personally visited Glenmarie, not for service, and am very pleased by front desk attention. I can say from what I observed P Blue Box is making an effort to improve customer service. If not mistaken Balakong is the nerve Center,IMO. Do update us,tks!

Balakong SC is also full.. I need to pre-book 3 weeks before hand for major service.

PUG just announced the promotion of FREE 1 year insurance and road tax for all models except for RCZ starting today. That's a handsome saving for the coming new owners.

Missed it.. Damn..

Just to update the outcome of my problems logged at service center of my 408T.

1) Rattling sound from left passenger side.
Result : Still exist. Will complain again.

2) Sound from right front tyre during turning
Result : Fixed. Steering pump changed.

3) Whizzing sound from steering
Result : Still exist although it sounds softer now. But still irritating to my ears.

4) Rattling sound from the dashboard at driver side.
Result : Still there. Will complain again.

Will be great if anyone here who had the same or diff problems can also share their experiences in here.

I've done my 10k servicing and with addition to that, I've provided below list of complain for them to rectify :
1.  Rattling on left door/dashboard
2.  Rear bumper not aligned
3.  Faint knocking sound when turning air-cond in the morning
4.  Weird sound when steering to the left
5.  Dropped clipped on underside of left front fender

At the end of the day...
1.  Rattling on left door/dashboard
-  they've missed this out completely!!!
2.  Rear bumper not aligned
-  they claim they're not famillar with 408 mounting/installation and they have to send to 3rd party bodyshop to rectify
3.  Faint knocking sound when turning air-cond in the morning
-  they claim that it's normal
4.  Weird sound when steering to the left
-  they said something about the hydraulic hose and will require one whole day to fix
5.  Dropped clipped on underside of left front fender
-  FIXED!

After few days, new rattling sound emerged from somewhere near the rear seat or bonnet and it's VERY OBVIOUS! However, when there's someone sitting on the rear passenger seat or in the morning or when it's raining, the sound isn't there. So then I've set a new appointment and complain on item 1 - 3.

At the end of the day...
1.  Rattling on left door/dashboard/rear seat/rear bonnet
-  They inject some foam in the dashboard for soundproofing and it seems to work. With addition to that, it improves sound insulation coming from the front tyres as well. The one attended my car claim that Pug CBU cars has paddings on their dashboard but not 408 sinc it's CKD. So maybe you guys can complain on dashboard rattling and you'll get better sound proofing. But the faint rattling on the left door is still there.
-  They've tightened loose screw on the rear seat and claim that there're no rattling after that. But guessed what, after only few meters out of the SC, the rattling appears! Makes me wonder whether they've tested it throughly or not.
2.  Rear bumper not aligned
-  They've dismantled and clipped the bumper back on its mounting but it's still the same. They say it might have to be sent to 3rd party bodywork shop to be rectififed.
3.  Faint knocking sound when turning air-cond in the morning
-  Again, 'it's normal'
4.  Weird sound when steering to the left
-  I didn't include this as part of the complain but mention it to the attending guy. He said they receive few complain on 408NA regarding this issue and it seems that the solution is to upgrade the coupling. But there're no complain from 408T yet.

So, I shall set another appointment to resolve issue no. 1 (rattling on rear seat/bonnet), 2 and 4. But I wonder if I could go for another SC instead of going back go Glenmarie SC? Or maybe it's time to call my SA and ask him to push SC to resolve these issues? hmm.gif

I'm experiencing almost the list of problems as yours with my 408T. Kind of annoying with all those tiny squeaky and rattling sound while driving.
Tomorrow will be my 3rd time of appointment to fix the problem in Balakong SC. I'll send my car to Glenmarie SC if the the problem still persist.
