Seeking advice from all Taikor here,
1) Can share the actual fuel consumption for 2.0 turbo (city and highway drive)?
2) normal and major service charges?
3) 2.0 turbo is timing belt or timing chain?
4) is there any branch that giving any discount or the best package deal?
*
1) There's only 1.6 Turbo and 2.0 NA variants. So far my Turbo FC 10L/100KM. I have a heavy foot. After run in or first service FC can be better. 2.0 FC can be higher.
2) Normal service is around Rm400. Major can be Rm3000.
3) Not sure
4) So far for what I know is those Peugeot branch will not give any cash rebate or offer. Unless you go and look for private dealer who they discount from their own commission.

If budget is one of your concern, and you dont really care abt those spec that missing in 2.0NA. Don't worry abt the FC. Its actually not that much dif between these 2 variants.

Somemore 2.0NA engine is more reliable compare to 16T.

Random survey; for those who tested the 408T, did any of you test its direct competitor, the VW Jetta? What can you comment about the ride quality (stiffness of suspension, body roll, road vibration) between these 2 cars?
*
I dint really teat drive Jetta. But did sit inside it and look at the interior. Just sorry that I can't accept Jetta interior, it's too empty feel for me. Somemore, you can't get a Jetta at 408 price. You got only Polo at this price.

So far my ride on 408T is good, I can really feel that the price engine is responsive. But it could be quite bumpy on low profile tyre and sport suspension. Mostly due to our lovely road condition.

Hi, compare 408 1.6T to others car say civic 2.0, altis 1.8/2.0, how you guys owners think in term of power, NVH ?
I test drive both 308/408T, feel that 308T seem better power, though same engine different tuning.
*
408T is heavier and bigger body compare to 308T, that's why you can feel better power on 308T. Some ppls did test drove these few segment C and they claimed that 408 will definitely win on NVM side. Conti car mah...
408t is by far superior in power and NVH compared to the Civi and Altis. I mean it is no match at all, 408t wins hands down! However you may find the 408t a bit bouncy at high speeds due to it's sports tuned suspension. This is not a fault with the car but rather due to our lousy road conditions. Here the Civi and Altis may be a bit more comfortable due to their softer suspensions.

Exactly my feeling. I sat in and felt everything kind of dated. The interest factor just died! Wasn't even interested to test drive.  However, German quality speaks for itself. It is very high standard,no questions there!

This is not an entirely true statement. It is wrong to say the NA is more reliable than the THP. The NA has proved itself and is reliable. Former THP's had reliability issues. Various mods were done on this THP - EP6CDT. if you look at the owner list, double the number of THPs on the roads. No one as yet to complain about their engine. As we know of,today, the EP6CDT( turbo ) is as reliable as the EW10A+(NA).
*
Haha.. I was just referring that this NA is more reliable than THP. Doesn't mean that THP is not reliable at all. But I really hope that as you said, the mod that done on this THP.,And the issues been addressed.

Is the NVH superior biggrin.gif , coz i think my 408T having loud engine coming to the cabin as compare to the refinement of japan engine.... or is it that is the kind of sound that rush the adrenalin, sorry if my judgement is wrong notworthy.gif , maybe TT session can test another 408T to confirm that kind of NVH is norm notworthy.gif

The sound proof of 408 can be said as very well. The engine sound when hear outside of your car is very loud, but you hardly hear any in the car. Mostly the loud sound is come fromthe air con. A tips to minimize the sound is lower your air con temperature instead of on the air con fan kuat kuat.

I visit Plentong branch for a view on this car and did a test drive on the next day. Initially wanna get this car from Plentong branch, however there is no any cash rebate even no freebie from the sales person. Understand is that there will be no any discount from both Plentong and Majidee branch.

I order my car from a private agent who gave discount personally from his commission. If you need his contact, can PM me. But the cash rebate is not that much as other car.

i love sedan and the bigger boot make life much more easier, read somewhere that 408 boot is bigger than 508, maybe 508 need to make the passenger cabin more spacious thus the boot not as big as 408... biggrin.gif
*
408 - 562L
508 - 545L
Obviously 408 has a bigger boot space. But 508 exterior is godlike

There are various views for this. some say drive at mid speed (say 60 - 90 km/hr) during the first 1000km but some say no need to observe this. some also say that the oil must be changed due to the minerals accumulation during engine runs etc. to let the pistons rings settled nicely.

maybe the new engines doesnt require this, since its not mentioned by peugeot. so the best thing to do may be drive it as normal and with care as you would probably care for a valuable thing. any comments..

Drive at a mid speed for the first 1000km? I already hit it up to 180km/h for the 3rd day drive. tongue.gif I was just wanna trying it at a high speed...

*
Well, my wife and my son not in the ride so that I can speed that time. The prince engine still able to go further if I just pedal down a bit, but my heart just can't take it anymore. Takut takut.... haha. The prince engine really can hike up to 200km/h effortless!!

How was the stability at 180kph? I find any speed above 150kmh quite bouncy. Car feels solid and stable.
*
Ya~ Its quite bouncy above 150KM/J, but its more due to the road condition, car still stable as it should be. thumbup.gif It shouldn't be any problem to hit 200KM/J on good road condition. icon_rolleyes.gif

Ya agree, but it will spoilt the sport look of 408T. So I will keep the low profile tyre. smile.gif

Ya I was actively researching for high profile tyres. Problem is you have to change the rims too. With original rims indicated speed will be inaccurate. Don't want to change rims cos the originals look good. Finally decided to keep to original tyres cos if I exceed 130kmh my auto siren ( wife: slow down, slow down, slow down ) comes on. So no point spend so much money to reconfigure and still cannot enjoy, hehehe!

Added on August 16, 2012, 10:20 am
I think you are like me, enjoy the high speeds. Too bad our road conditions are poor. Anyway with the new proposed speed trap system we have to limit our speeds. What FC do you get doing 150kmh or above?Keeping it around 130kmh urban drives, my indicated FC is 9.2L/100. I believe it will improve after the 1st (10k ) service!
*
Didn't really note at the FC at the speed as I speed for a short time only.
So far 50-50 highway and city drive got a FC of 11L/100km with my heavy foot. I manage to get 8L/100km if I change my driving style to light pedal. Considered good FC

No, not the central screen. I mean the small screen below the speedometer. There are two odometer showed on it. But my both odometer are different.
