refer to image above, the one right behind the left passenger seat. At the base of the window. It's not uncommon for the material to be hollow but this one felt shoddy. Tested the Persona and Saga in the same showroom, no such feel. Press also it doesn't go downwards.

It's not important but I find the quality should be better.

Oh and I really dislike the texture of the material they used for the dashboard and other areas, I found out the same texture is on Exora Bold too.

Isnt that part suppose to be soft? Maybe proton use soft plastic for that part not like persona or saga. Correct me if i'm wrong.

I was high hope on this car but sadly it turned out the other way around. Comparing to waja interior, I felt waja is much better in term of the material choice and fitting. The preve is just bit plastic to me, and the door panel also feel it. The speedo meter surprisingly is small, waja much better looking. The idea design is good is just the things arrange is not well balance and sleek enough. For the executive,  the setting is just too toyish feeling. The stering is small but doesn't have the waja feel more confirm and steady.
Engine bay doesn't looks neat enough if compare again with waja. The bay seems a bit large, maybe some space for turbo parts.
Lastly come to the my worst part of the car, is the rear seat. I thought it could be a flat rear seat, but there is the wheel base which make the seat not flat. If seating for 3 person, the both left right person which need to seat inside cause can't lay down the back bcoz the wheel base, the 3rd person will be cramp. The car is long enough for comfortable interior seating. Maybe they sacrifice for the front site. The seat also a bit low.
If compare to persona, yes it is better. But for waja, I think the waja interior is much better.
Only thing is the car exterior design itself. I am looking more on to the engine and the car design. Those extra feature is nothing special it had been in the market, all u need is juz include it. As for engine, it will depends on prt itself and also the car design.
A preve body with waja interior feel would be great.

Waja facelift has better instrument cluster, before facelift version instrument cluster was so-so. Just wait for the FL version then. THats another 2 years

Yea I know what you mean, because the plastic in thin and it is mostly empty inside.

The Saga is also like that, until i stuck some thick insulflex behind the panel.

I do have to say, the vios wins in this aspect.

Press the central lock button only. either engine ON or OFF. as long as the batt not flat smile.gif

but I went to test out the Saga and applied similar (or more pressure). It doesn't bend.

When I first sat in Inspira, I was impressed.......... of course, it's a Mitsu Lancer with Nasi Lemak twist la. tongue.gif That was many months back, so tempted to buy the R3 version.

Now I sat in Preve, though C-segment, it doesn't give me the Inspira feel. It didn't wow me as much, though I must say the Preve has much better boot space. Inspira, if I'm not mistaken people change the spare tyre to a smaller one to allocate more boot space.

Of course when you consider the price, Preve is actually very good.

i din really notice those kind of small things, i am more concern about the engine, handling and the NVH of the car, so far i am quite satisfied smile.gif but heck why it took so long for them to deliver to miri.. they din even tell me my chassis number those yet..

Hahahahahaha rolleyes.gif Sorry to say but I feel the Rara more solid and better made. I like the interior of the Rara more and the power wub.gif

Probably the Mitsubishi engine played a part, but there will always be a soft spot for the Veyvey in my heart wub.gif

perhaps u should try and touch other showroom's preve...
on the first days of its launch...i intentionally touch the plastic at driver's side...but dont feel anything like you said...some more quite solid like my colleague's saga blm...

When I first sat in Inspira, I was impressed.......... of course, it's a Mitsu Lancer with Nasi Lemak twist la. tongue.gif That was many months back, so tempted to buy the R3 version.

Now I sat in Preve, though C-segment, it doesn't give me the Inspira feel. It didn't wow me as much, though I must say the Preve has much better boot space. Inspira, if I'm not mistaken people change the spare tyre to a smaller one to allocate more boot space.

Of course when you consider the price, Preve is actually very good.

the 2.0E for the inspira now comes with slim spare tyres, and the boot capacity is now 400litres. doesnt sound much, but with the boot hinges, it allows the 400 litres to be fully used.

I search on Google but only found how the projector headlamp works, don't know what is the advantage.

only car with HID is proton waja cps smile.gif u tunggu lama2 then maybe after 5 years will come out one as well... the original HID for waja is not cheap u know.. once spoil u cry the tears of blood. i dont think the headlamp for this preve is cheap as well.. see how much fancy things are in there....

This fella drove the test drive car up to 200km/h. It was totally insane...hahhaa. I found it in another preve forum.

Based on review from the forumer, Preve was stable and the steering didn't vibrate much...

Some said just put whatever rim that u wish for but when shiit happens just change back to original & go to SC as well.

I believe the booking initiate once ur loan approved. Booking before launch? Preve was known as P3-21A before launch. Is bank going to process the loan application with P3-21A name. I doubt so. Just my 2 cents.

I've booked Red Preve on 1st April.Booked at Bahau Proton Edar. Till now still not getting my preve..
May i know what the 5 years warranty cover for ? Anyone can share ? This Preve will be my 1st car.. sorry if i'm too noob about cars. LOL

FC = 6.7L/100KM

Preve 1.6 iAFM+ CVT, curb weight 1325kg, 16" rim:
FC = 5.8L/100KM

it doesn't make sense..
is it typo?.. 6.8L/100km for the Preve instead..

Im at proton edar melaka at the moment,servicing my PE. While at it, i took a look at the displayed preve. Funny, i found the welding on the door looked just fine. Not like the worst weld such as posted by someone before. I think it look perfectly fine.

P/s: i do know how to weld.mig,tig,smaw,plasma,spotweld,laser welding etc. I used to teach those things. tongue.gif

I think the term that should be used for that weld on the is tack weld rather than spot weld.those involve in metal fabrication should know this. Spot weld is a process whre you heat up two metal and the place place where the two metal melt will bond the metals together (it will bond on the inner part of the two metals,not.outside). While other welding processes mostly binds the metals from the outside parts of the metals. Many photos i've seen people posted here including the so call additional spot weld to the car body by the owner was actually tack weld. You need a big spot weld machine to do spot weld. It will actually 'kepit' those metal,heat the metal amd melt it togethar. I never knew we can do spot weld by hand.

My SA told me that is Customer Car with Reg No.
May be they have additional stock after during wink.gif launching, so they distribute that to the customer.

Use Sierra Glow(SG), i think they quoted RM700 for one Preve owner and he had done his, so I am going to visit SG to do mine as well once I get the car. There is 5 years warranty and you can return for touch up.

it is not about the waiting time la.. if they can tell us some estimate time to wait is good enuf, but no tentative time at all. Summore launching the car with no stock ready is like telling the world u sell this product, and ppl are impressed, and we wanted to buy, but they say no stock, this is total bullshit man.. poor marketing.. why proton image is so suk is becos of their marketing department, i think all never study before.. give dog fuk

manual dint say specifically must use 10w30. It RECOMMENDS 10w30 and above. That 10w30 is the threshold. One cannot use any engine oil with viscosity lower than 10w30.

Thus seeing this trend we can see that even the engine part, the design part, or the built of the car in general, has improved compared to before, P1 marketing as well as their SC really2 needs to turn over a new leaf. If this keeps up I believe DRB should appointed another 'DSZ' version of After Sales & Marketing.

drob by, about warranty changing rim, it wont affect ur warranty totally. Worst case scenario, just related part to suspension will be affected, but thats only if scs are really strict. U can kautim with them actually. Changing the rims may affected the r n h balance and maybe affect a bit on ur fc.

About the delay, herm, hard to say though. Delivery is on progress, but admit, really slow this time. Maybe due pdi nowadays is done in the plant to ensure everything ok. Really pity u guys. Keep reminding my friends on that. Some eon n edar probs related.

Thus seeing this trend we can see that even the engine part, the design part, or the built of the car in general, has improved compared to before, P1 marketing as well as their SC really2 needs to turn over a new leaf. what i meant earlier on oversize rims, not same size rims. For r3 rims, better called bridgestone distributor as mentioned in website on availability, they have the 5 lugs exora 16 inch. Tyre prevously re 001, but better confirm with bridgestone first.

The only thing i can do on delay delivery is bugging my dear friend. The best thing, everybody complaint to i-care, coz my source is not related to the plant, just r n d. Hopefully with many complaints, they will make it fast.

You tell them specifically lor not to wash. My last visit to COE to fix my exhaust they also give car wash, no complains from me coz it's free, but up to you lor.

The magnacrap and X-1R they will ask you, and they will tell you it is very important must use for new car, help with engine longevity and shet. If you know nothing about cars, you might ask for extra so you can give to family member, that's how aggressive some of them are.

They too cipet already, they wan to capture our bookings, so they launch it even they don have ready stock for deliver. they know that if they dont launch it any sooner, ppl like me will go for other cars already..

hehe im just saying the white isnt as nice as i thot it would be.. nothing bout the delivery issue. but i think its not really an issue la guys.. im starting to see few here n there white / blue / red preve here in shah alam. we just need to wait. i guess when we go in here chit chat bout stuff, the "waiting duration" becomes abit more annoying, i think it is normal to get the car within 3 / 4 weeks time.. just be patience guys. icon_rolleyes.gif

the magnetrap, my mom persona 1st service also kena, only 68 so its ok lar, but hate it when they just do as they wish without asking first.

hmm, long waiting list for preve, i haven't book, no hurry for me, their plant can produce roughly 2k units per month?

hope the delay is due to improvement better wait than they rush production which will affect the quality.

That y i choose red earlier. Seem like you are more trouble since u need to tumpang ppl car to office. Since there are late to deliver, you should ask your showroom to pay the "Fuel Charge" and "maintenance Fees" to your friend la..

guys. which dealer is better? proton edar or eon?

and what does it mean by 5 years warranty? does it mean i need to do all maintenance at proton service center only and if i do it at with another workshop example change engine oil, all of my warranty for 5 years is void?

yalo... taichi... i think the staffs are just too lazy la... stupid one.. but my SA din really taichi la, he just say normally is like that cos we east msia, shipping also need time ma.. he just tell me around May will come, but cannot say exact date. so its normal, but i think proton should distribute the car earlier la before launch, poor planning and execution, flawed startup leads to later complication.

1 thing, Miri sarawak dont have proton edar branch lol... only got EON and those dealer, and the dealer also get their car from EON... Hopefully the dealer tauke will fight for the stock la, i think his company consider big enuf biggrin.gif

Test Drive Preve just now, so here just to share a bit of the impression that Preve gave me.

Sluggishness that everyone talk about - Now i understand that the sluggishness when the car from idle to move. My impression is, the car will still move, its unlike most of the pple describe that its almost stand still until you need to get a lembu pull the car, NO.

So, how to get the car move quickly? Just step on the throttle more, that's it.

Acceleration - brilliant, during my test drive, i'm on a 5km length of speedway, then will do a u-turn under one bridge. Here the impressive thing that Preve gave me is how the car propel forward without any problem, the SA keep on encouraging me to dare dare step on throttle more, because he mentioned i'm driving in a much softer way, he said there are many test-driver who do it 160 - 170km/h, i can't imagine that, and i believe that driveshaft broken Preve that so crazily spread around Facebook definitely is because driver ignorance, because after i finished my test drive then immediately on the road pple drive the Preve and speed on the test drive like no tomorrow. the SA also told me, there was a guy who test drove the car, 80km/h go into the U-turn, the Preve still mange to go through but it also skid a bit, and ridiculous thing is not how fast the car go into the u-turn, it is the test-driver son who sit behind, he just 6 years old.

My wife sit behind, she said the sound is well insulated, because for other car once reaching 120km/h, the radio sound can no longer be heard, but not Preve. She also told me she is a bit "scared" by the car because the sudden surge makes she think that it can lead to unable to control the car properly, probably she need sometimes to get used to turbo car i guess.

Regarding the engine sound, a bit loud, and once the car engine is in 2krpm range, if full throttle, then quite obvious the sound, but who will always step on the throttle fully, somemore everyday? So this not really bother me, and to be honest, i like the sound when turbo kick-in.

i just check at 3 banks. for islamic loan, bank muamalat 2.6%, bank islam 3.0% and rhb islamic 2.68%.

so go for bank muamalat. we should get the lowest rate as possible. if you can at bank muamalat, try to nego using your negotiation skill, who knows you might get 2.5%.

New update from my side. Just signed the loan agreement to process my IAFM+ CVT, and it's White! Checked the invoice and it's stated today's date, so confirmed not display unit. The SA say his branch just got a Red and a White, I think both are IAFM+ CVT. If everything goes well, I can get my car next Monday.

FYI, my chassis no. already reach 3k.

During the showcase at MIECC, the SE unit used Alcon Brake Kit and that itself would easily cost around 12 - 15k. So if they do end up using the same kit with all the other goodies, then no surprise that it would cost around 100k when launched.

Nope, the invoice is actually from Proton to that dealer shop, and it stated the chassis no. and engine no. on the invoice (I didn't write them down though, I trust my SA). Date of invoice is today, so can confirm that it's new car. My SA said check that invoice for the car, if it's on the launch day, then most likely is showroom car, that's why he purposely show me to give me confidence that it's a new car.

DP already paid, so now just the matter of waiting the car come to the showroom, then register the number plate, and get the car on next Monday.

I could have gotten it last week itself if my loan was processed faster actually. But i'm more than happy now that everything is in place. But anyhow, looking at the delays many of u are facing here, i'm not putting my hopes to high. If i do get it this Friday, then good for me, if not, then there's no choice but to wait for the next batch.

Blue and Silver ( CFE /non CFE) get first
then White (non CFE)... then White/Red (CFE).. and i think Black (CFE) will be the last..
i only jealous those got the White CFE ..but i think in this forum nobody got his White CFE yet...

i went to the show room just now and saw the car.. the driver seat was really comfortable,, much more comfortable compared to the passenger seat.. but every time i opened and closed the car boot, there is a weird "tik" sound at certain point of closing and opening.. and then when i closed the rear passenger door, they is a weird sound too.. sounds like something is vibrating coming from bhind.. does anyone hv this problem? but overall the car was awesome... worth the price rclxms.gif

u can find it at the box. MAC: blablalba..just need last 3 digit.

on smartphone and detect wifi YES, 4G with proton. it will give you 000xxx

usually u cant get that price la for trade in. try to sell by yourself thru mudah with rm1500 expected price. but i dont think got many ppl interested cos no proton use 5 lugs except exora n preve. but the tyre u can sell rm200-250 each.

Hi, for those who have taken the macho preve and have driven at night, can i know if your gear shift console got light or not? where you can see the letter P R N D S.. cos mine don't have light wor..


My 'Car with 2 skid mark' button also no light during day time and no reaction when pressed but at night the 'car with 2 skid mark' light is on wor..

Anyway what is this button for? rolleyes.gif

It's my luck i guess. I walked-in and booked coincidently a customer cancel booking for another color. The only thing i regret was i couldn't get 'www' plate number.

tat one is traction control i guess? since ppl said theirs got light, i think u gonna get it back and fucuk the SA for giving u defective product lol..

-no lock/unlock button
-no gear console lights
-cannot press traction control button

i think the TC button is always on one... the car that i test drive also like tat, light always on at TC.. tried to off it but cannot, so the SA told me is indicator only :s

i guess some buyers are lucky in the event that their branch/dealer got allocated with their colour. seems latest colour is black?
but still no white CFE, i think once they start shipping white the roads will be jammed with Preve!

The traction control button need to press and hold for a while then only will turn it off
i'd tried with the SA while i was test driving...
but turning it back on is just a quick single press

-just do alignment for side mirror
-just change the 2 indicator to switch (hopefully the wiring is done)
-add bulbs to the console.

The lost of both traction control and lock/unlock button function could be due to the entire panel socket wasn't plug in properly, or worse, not even plugged in... just my wild guess... smile.gif

u got real patience and toleration there bang... if me, i fucuk the SA upside down already... tis all consider unacceptable for me, if got some little scratch on those plastic can accept, but functional things are meant to be functioning properly, if cannot, then it should just being stripped off or for aesthetics purposely only which i don really give a fucuk about it..

Ok guys, finally got time to post here. Been washing and waxing it.

Bout the manual nothing much la just like any other manual book, but the warranty there are few items that didn't fully cover for 5 years, maybe i'll list it out tomorrow.

There are some paint spot, I suspect is prolong sitting in open air causing it, gonna need claybar and good polish to remove it.

Bout the gear light, it has but very dim. TC button is ok for mine.

Give you guys some pikcha

It must be able to integrate with phone because it has bluetooth. Except iphone ( I think) since I'm not very sure with iphone bluetooth policy.

For Android and other phone users....it shouldn't be any problem.

Anyway, could you check whether you can sinc the phonebook to HU ? This is very important. It should work since an aftermarket FM bluetooth module can do that.

edit : I think I saw the phonebook button in your picture, so it should be able to sync the phonebook. Nice. Now I can keep the phone in my pocket all the time.

btw, is there any phone button on the steering wheel ? or you have to press on the HU ?

the person that got Black Preve (CFE) from Proton Edar COSE Hicom must be the one that I let go since my SA said the one that the name down in the list got the car.

Now, he doesn't know when my car will arrive....

black color aid in absorbing heat but not releasing, releasing heat is dependent on the material, not the color. Actually it is more material dependent la..

Yo guys..been a while..i finally managed to test drive the preve for a 2nd time today in terengganu. Last test drive was in Glenmarie. A new test drive unit baru sampai.

The thing is, this new car behaves differently than the one in glenmarie. Seems like the power are delivered at a lower RPM than Before. Sluggishness wasnt there like the previous car i drove. Acceleration from stand still has drastically increased!

Did proton ever said anything about retuning their preves? Its feels very very different indeed. Might consider the SE when it comes out.

That one more or less the same. Didnt quite notice sgt la coz i dont really mind engine noise. I like hearing them lol.
Important thing is out side NVH for me. No rattling sounds, not much tire sound ok laa

I've testdrove 4 different preve.... there is one preve at Hicom (COSE) that has very noisy engine sound and even the dashboard rattled during hard acceleration (feels like the engine mounting has gone). The other three was quite okay.

TC is part of ESC function. Both compliments each other. U need to press the button for about 3 seconds to deactivate it. However, at speeds above 150, it will re-activate automatically.

same la both R3 and Nissan GTR/ fairlady sport rim design. the only different is small size vs big size and 7 vs 6.

im not dsz. Already mentioned about any issues, before received, after received, do complaint to sc coz cant do anything. Dunno whether faulty part or not on esc/tc button coz its light up during night. And cant simply push one time to deactivate. About lock n unlock button, also need to check coz that is sop. The lock/unlock involve bcm, so, need to diagnost 1st. Actually already mentined before when one mentioning on wing mirror probs. For gear indicator, maybe led faulty. But need checking coz only light up when u turn on main headlamp.

Everything involves vendors/suppliers faulty part need a report, so that the suppliers/vendors can rectify it(if its really product fault) or one faulty unit among many within tolerable tolerence@just mistake done by human during assembly@how this things happened and miss by the qc n etc.

Owners report is really important as evidence to support on faulty part supply by them. Evrything need to investigate thoroughly coz to check where is the root of problem.

That is common sop in any manufacturer coz actually, everybody involve in qc, not only prtn, even the supplier also. Who's doing the fault need to determine first. But dont worry, of course the faulty part will be replace or rectify first for customers unless it is really a technical things that need deep investigation. This is just internally.

I don't think it is an emergency CD eject hole for this kind of mechanism. sweat.gif

EDIT: Opps! Maybe it's an ambient light detector for auto-brightness? tongue.gif

Hi all,

I have tested the Preve and the Inspira. I find the initial sluggishness a bit disturbing for me. Other than that, the preve is not that bad.

Inspira is much nicer to drive (even the 1.8CVT) because the torque and power deliver is smoother, no initial lag...

Those who can afford the Inspira, I would strongly recommend it due to better driving experience. Also the Inspira comes with Continental CC5, great set of tyres...

My wife sit behind, she said the sound is well insulated, because for other car once reaching 120km/h, the radio sound can no longer be heard, but not Preve. She also told me she is a bit "scared" by the car because the sudden surge makes she think that it can lead to unable to control the car properly, probably she need sometimes to get used to turbo car i guess.

Regarding the engine sound, a bit loud, and once the car engine is in 2krpm range, if full throttle, then quite obvious the sound, but who will always step on the throttle fully, somemore everyday? So this not really bother me, and to be honest, i like the sound when turbo kick-in.
