Yo guys..been a while..i finally managed to test drive the preve for a 2nd time today in terengganu. Last test drive was in Glenmarie. A new test drive unit baru sampai.

The thing is, this new car behaves differently than the one in glenmarie. Seems like the power are delivered at a lower RPM than Before. Sluggishness wasnt there like the previous car i drove. Acceleration from stand still has drastically increased!

Did proton ever said anything about retuning their preves? Its feels very very different indeed. Might consider the SE when it comes out.

How about the engine sound in the cabin ?

That one more or less the same. Didnt quite notice sgt la coz i dont really mind engine noise. I like hearing them lol.
Important thing is out side NVH for me. No rattling sounds, not much tire sound ok laa

I've testdrove 4 different preve.... there is one preve at Hicom (COSE) that has very noisy engine sound and even the dashboard rattled during hard acceleration (feels like the engine mounting has gone). The other three was quite okay.

yeah.. i think those early demo/test cars are really preproduction cars or rushed out for the launching.

QUOTE(mat79 @ May 1 2012, 01:39 PM)
erm, already mentioned earlier that many of the units in showroom are pre prod one. for the time being, not heard any flash tinggy, maybe just because pre prod is around 90% of actual, but the diff is minimal though. If there is any, coz its not involve safety reason, normally they will do the reflash when sending car for 1st service.

The only thing i remember n know is when flx launch, some cars already handed to customer, and then punch issue to call back all cars n halting the production coz need to change the cvt oil pump. I think its nearly a month due, n many complaints on the lateness.

It just upon punch(oem) inspection, there may be some faulty on cvt oil pump supply by their supplier(punch supplier), due to that reason, all things being halt, even cars that on the delivery being call back to rectify that issue.

Other than that, dunno. Coz neverheard any exercise on production of preve. Maybe shud wait the review of production cars by autocar asean, asian auto, topgear malaysia n etc(shud be next comin month),compare to preproduction one they test before coz what they are testing in club med are the production unit. Maybe their 'professional' oppinion on the performance n etc shud be counted also coz they have driven so many cars, 2.0 na cars n even 4.8 v8 car. May need to take note whether it is as one mentioned even bad than 1.6 na, n saying maybe those who never drive 2.0 na will feel joy, those who already drive 2.0 na will say just terrible(dunno also coz during preproduction unit review, they also mentioned pwr as 2.0 na, never mentioned cfe is underperformed, even 1.6 na can better it, but who knows maybe the review given by journos that never driven 2.0 na cars before)

since some already send the car to 1st service, (about magnetrap, its optional, if dont want, dont include it, same as x1r, ask with service advisor about the list, n just take a common one only), why not asked them is there any big diff after service on throttle sensitivity.
*
Ive heard rumors that the new bunch of preves going out now uses a different batch of CVT, thus the different behavior, not just the tuning. Not sure how true this is, but thats whats the ppl in proton terengganu are talking, had problems with overheating in early batches CVT causes xtreme overheating, thus the broke down demo car after 1 day at terengganu. So those who complaint they get the car late, dont worry, u guys might get new sets of CVT.. to those who got early, just hope u guys didnt void ur warranty yet.

being cheated..not 5 years warranty??why all 3 years?
then what thing waranty 5 years?

paint kot? doh.gif
*
this is like plain scam lol..

For my forte, its 3 years + 2 extended years (unlimited mileage) warranty covers everything major from engine to transmission. just that, for the final 2 years, kalau mau claim parts, ada charge of rm400.. ok laa if u wanna claim major stuff like transmission.

It's not specifically covered in black and white, but you can still complain. I have complaint to COE and other SCs about creaks and rattles in my car, they are happy to obliged.

But whether they have the skills to permanently solve the sounds, that is a different questions.
Gonna suffer some honking at roundabouts until you get used to the throttle response then  sweat.gif  sweat.gif
Proton's power windows lifetime warranty = 10 years or 250km. Ppl still misunderstand that Proton's lifetime = as long as the car is alive  laugh.gif
*
oh 10 years.. didnt know lol.. then why call it lifetime meh..kalau promote mcm ni kt negara luar dah kena saman..

QUOTE
Terms and conditions:
The Lifetime Warranty is defined as ten (10) years of a customer's vehicle age or 250,000km from the car registration date (whichever comes first).
The warranty is subject to full compliance of the recommended periodical service maintenance as specified in the Service Booklet to be conducted at any authorised PROTON service centre.
Any Proton car model that is registered before 31 August 2011 and is still under the manufacturer's warranty will require a valid Power Window System Warranty Registration.
The Power Window Lifetime Warranty covers only four (4) components of the power window mechanism; run channel, power window motor, door regulator and power window switch.
Power Window Lifetime Warranty is claimable at all authorised PROTON service centres.
*Power Window Lifetime Warranty is only applicable to the Malaysian market.

Still a cheap gimmick using the term "Lifetime".

U cant do this in the US or any EU countries tho, proton will get sued kaw kaw

Limited lifetime warranty =/= Lifetime warranty. I believe the correct term is Limited lifetime. Lifetime warranty is as long as u own the product. Most Pc parts have limited lifetime/years warranty. (until the product is no longer in the market or not supported)

My beloved preve has just been admitted to SC at 4pm.  cry.gif

Luckily the proton care responsed to me on labour day. Calling my SA was hopeless and said cannot help me.

The proton mechanic came and upon checking said need to send to SC. The Engine sign was ON at all times and the car jerks all the way.

He said they will remap the ECU and do some testing tomorrow.

Hope my beloved preve will be fine tomorrow. sweat.gif

Whats the suspected cause? Why early batch proton always like this..

He said, 3 years is standard proton warranty, but for preve, they give 5 years. He asked us to recall that before launch, there is 1 surprise yet to be revealed right? It is the 5years warranty and the new price. So when they see ur car is preve basically u are under 5 years warranty, unless they are too stupid. But better to get a black and white from ur SA or dealer when u get ur car. But my dealer is also a proton service centre so no big deal la, summore is my dad friend. As i said also, they printed the booklet way earlier than they decided to say they give 5 years warranty and how they gonna change again? they rather do announcement than to reprint everything, later they charge u higher we nag again, no good right?
*
WTH.. They cant do that.. Everythings need black n White clarification lah bro doh.gif At least should have detailed info on their website.

Mmg la.. Forte pon macam tu..but when they announce ada 2 years extended warranty, naza buat ada satu booklet and detailed info on which part is covered and etc2.. mana boleh main announce without black and white. So unprofessional.

QUOTE(ben3003 @ May 1 2012, 07:56 PM)
Najib already announced it on the launching ceremony, they believe there is some sort of mutual understanding between proton and buyer? My SA also told me 5 years. If u buy something then they say give u 1 more year warranty few days later after u received the item, but the booklet no say, u wan request them to reprint the booklet for u? As i said, their marketing department is stupid and suck, so u cant expect them to come out with something while they are now busying sorting out the car allocation yo.. just call i Care proton if u are worried. It would be better if proton can have some representative in this forum, it would greatly build up their network and market and customer service better biggrin.gif
*
Yes they should like Naza did. Called back all customers, and register for the extended warranty program, Give black and white papers with detailed info about the extended warranty. Ppl are now confused man, i pon confused lol. The reason they need to sort this out early is to avoid confusion. They planned the 5 years warranty before launch, so why not give a simple piece of paper detailing about it when selling the car?
