Why cannot ? Signature in Blue and Signature in Black cannot mix meh ?It's up to the cashier to accept or not ... 99.9% of the time the cashier don't bother to verify.
Banks can't verify it also

Hi guys.
My brother just received an sms on 24dec from 66300, saying, "RM0.00 Encik XXX bin XXX, ur AmBank Credit Card app has been approved and the card will be sent to ur Card Delivery address asap"... Then today, he received an sms from 66399 saying, "RM0.00 : Activate your AmBank Credit Card XXXX********XXXX before use. Yr Activation Code is XXXXXX. Refer to yr Welcome Pack or ambankgroup.com for steps".. But the thing is, he never applied credit card from ambank. Is this a scam or what? On September, he applied car loan from ambank, and yes its approved. But then he didn't applied for the ambank cc. Must be the staff at ambank used my brother's details to apply the credit card (without my bro permission @ he didn't knew about it) so that the staff can get komisen huh?? |

Yeah, he sure he didn't sign for any credit card application form. The bank staff never mention about cc at that time. Or maybe the bank has cc offer at that time that my bro didn't knew. He will go to the bank, ask them about this and cancel the card. He already had a cc from other bank.
Thank you guys Update: my bro went to the bank branch near his house (not the branch he applied for car loan). Yeah, there's a cc registered under his name. The bank staff told him to wait for the card to arrive his home, then cancel the card. The bank staff told my bro, maybe there's a staff at the car loan bank branch took advantages of his details to apply for the card to get commission. I'd like to remind members that we do not allow any discussion regarding the mandatory RM50 GST that everybody has to pay. The RM50 GST is paid to the government and collected via the bank to the LHDN.
Such posts will be taken action swiftly and without notice. If anyone wishes not to pay the RM50 GST then get a debit card, don't bother anyone here with your requests / ramblings about the fee because there are alternatives. |

Hi, I have some question regarding credit card approval.
I never had any credit card before (1st time applying for a credit card) & my salary is RM24k per annum. I just want to apply a card mostly for online shopping. I applied the Citibank Gold Visa & just received a letter from them today stating that they're unable to offer me a Citibank credit card at this point in time. Does this mean I will not be able to apply for any Citibank credit card anymore? And will this also indicate that it will be difficult for me to apply a credit card from other bank(s)? Thank you for any kind suggestions & advices in advance. |

** End of 2012 / New Year Greetings **
![]() It's that time of the year again for me to write that New Year Greetings 2012 in review (I may not have capture all of the essence in totality and this is just my personal opinion, do excuse me) - MBB continues to dominate the local credit card market for local bank issuers. Thanks to their MBB's Maybankard 2 cards products which in my opinion swept the general market and their MBB VI and WMC which (I believe) equally dominate the Premier cards segment. It's interesting because a few years back they were nowhere and nobody (including myself) wants to be associated with their cards. Back then it was cool to own a Citibank card. Now, they are so large - I believe they even destroyed Citibank former domination of the local credit card market. - BNM unsecured credit controls limits credit card growth. Both good and bad. Good to limit unsecured credit to new job market entrants. Bad coz gone are the days where you can use your old card as reference. - Cash Back cards (OCBC TI and MBB Maybankard 2 Amex as such examples) are the "In thing". In these hard times, consumers look for value and the banks response. My personal opinion it's good to have such products but often I see consumers are not realistic with the expectation of "returns". I will always reassert my stand that banks are a commercial money making entity. It's scary that the Malaysian public such mentality over such "subsidies". Get real folks - these are the mentality of 3rd world countries. If you want Malaysia to be someday recognized as a developed country then let's all do our part. - GST for credit card continues to exist and I'm not proud being the only country in the world which practices such. Folks, do read between the lines. The government are hard press for money and curbing credit card growth is just an excuse to collect money from the public. It's sad to see our hard earned money collected as taxes being used for populist subsidy policies. I hope GST will be removed by next year - my wish. - The biggest snafu is perhaps SCB's review of their credit card positioning strategy. With the removal of the points and rebate system, it looks as if they are preparing to exit the market. But at the same time, they are also attempting to retain their customers. It's rather confusing as to where they are heading but I guess we will have to wait for a few months before SCB unveils their new loyalty programme. (If any) Their recent "Cash Giveaway" programme was simply mind boggling. It'll be interesting to see how will they shape up in the year 2013. To end it all ... I look forward to the year 2013 with the hope that, we'll see more great products coming from the banks. (It better be ... otherwise it'll be very boring letting MBB have all the fun) And I wish for all members to continue using credit cards in a positive manner as a great financial tool. Before I forget, a big and warm thanks to all contributing members - especially those who has been the pillar of growth for this forum. They are Gen-X Happy New Year Folks ! This one I disagree, if want to complain about government collecting money from public there are many other things to complain and not just related to credit card specifically (I'm surprised general consumption GST not implemented yet, good to have threatening opposition =p). I think its good to limit credit card use/application among those who likely to build much debt. Don't want the country to be a nation of CC-debt-bankrupts. Just see how many people ask about cash advance from CC and how to get CC which is above their income earning capacity here. |

But practically most of the 'additional' cards the benefits much less than the few primary cards you got right (though depend on lifestyle, ex: own SC card just for the 15% discount is not worth for places I eat at). |

Happy new year to everyone!
Personal summary. 2012 has been good to me. Able to save/earn about RM2000 from MBB2 + OCBC Ti (cashback/points redemption) with normal spending. Another RM1000+ more from SCB + Citibank |
