Added on August 9, 2012, 3:50 pmThe civic 2.0's tyre is 21545R17, I believe. Can we use 23545R17? If yes, what's the advantage or disadvantage? This post has been edited by leonall: Aug 9 2012, 03:50 PM |

Because I saw in a shop 23545R17 is much cheaper than 215. So just wondering if 235 can fit into civic 2.0. And any advantage or disadvantage?

Sometimes cabin noise also depends on road. Some roads are noisier than others.
Anyhow, finally decided and booked a 2.0L white Next challenge: to find covered car park near my office |

QUOTE(BravoZeroTwo @ Aug 9 2012, 02:13 PM) We find that our Civic 1.8 is pretty quiet using GY NCT5. I owned Altis before to compare here. Thanks. GY NCT5 are crap tyres. Damn noisy and poor road grip. If you claim your car is quiet, then its because of NVH. Not the tyres. Change the tyres if you value safety. U can exchange for almost zero cost or just pay a small amount for Continental CC5. Much better tyres, good wet grip and more quiet than the NCT5. |

Can vouch for this based on past experience. Being noisy is one thing, but the wet grip is practically non-existent! Can't count how many times I've been subjected to unintentional drifting whenever the road is wet. Shame on Honda for putting such unsafe tyres on their cars. |

Just would like to take some times to continue my next chapter..
Done another 100km today, mainly city drive, jammed, lots of traffic light, waiting in the car and so on...this lead to the FC dropped significant to 16km/l ( from 20km/l) and range dropped from 1k+ to 700+ and still dropping. Surprisingly, the auto stop doesn't causes the aircon to produce hot air, the air con is as good as when the engine is running. I've to test further if the ( auto stop ) functions will start the engine when it detected that it's no longer producing cool air due to very hot weather or too often of stoppage ( BMW 520i having the function to auto start again when the engine need the power even the break is being continuing press ) Trying to turning off the radio to observe the noise level ( using the power button on the radio as mute button ), and notice the noise coming from the tire was quite obvious....Hopefully, the noise will get lesser as the tire thread get smoothen out. Technically if the tire thread is bigger / broader --> noisy ---> can last longer, if the thread is smaller/more line ---> less noise ---> but the thread will be gone faster. I believe HM providing the current Dunlop may not the best option for sound noise. Another funny finding today, the desk board is producing some signal sound ( small buzzer bee sound ) for about 3~4 sec, on every alternate interval of 4~5 times on pressing the break....very low sound but irritating when you've notice the present. Did anybody do encountered the same scenario. Is it normal ? Will have to go back to HM for an answer. This post has been edited by CarOnLine: Aug 10 2012, 12:06 AM |

Is there any message on MID or light shown in the intrument panel?
