hybrid got all the gizmos available on the 2.0L. keyless entry, push button, leather seats, the lot. but at 122k it is expensive considering the last hybrid civic was only ... ? forgot how much but certainly NOT over 1.8L.

regarding the price, what we have now only estimations but as the clock ticking down to tomorrow i must say estimations are coming to be true after all. they may miss by only 1k or 2k and that even asking very hard. at best maybe miss some hundreds. i want to believe the 2.0L should be 130k tops but it seems not possible anymore

at 139k for the 2.0L navi is simply unbelievable considering u top up another 4-5k u ended up with a D segment rival vehicle. more space and greater presence. i sat at the back and i never been in a civic backseat before and i am struggling to understand honda said they made the interior bigger despite the shortened wheelbase and width.

subject to divine intervention on the price issue, i cannot see this to overtake FD sales although yes it will sell.

Another Opinion

Test drove new civic 2.0 over the weekend. Better than expected after all the negative comments heard. Summary is as follows:

Like: Drive, cornering, steering, interior, exterior, fuel economy, not need to press button to unlock car
Dislike: Acceleration, radio design, rims

Although much the same power as previous gen, acceleration even on second gearpaddleshift is not to my expectation, very linear delivery thanks to soch migration. Spoke with owner of 8gen 2.0L civic, he told me acceleration has less roar and surge. With RM90 which is near full tank, the 2.0L will take you 450-460km max with econ mode on according to salesman. Overall i'm generally pleased with quality of car.

Last thing and can others verify this...salesman told me 0-100 is about 13 secs for 2.0L? Too bad i didnt try  but this sounds very the sucky. I will test Ford Focus as second choice before i decide to change car. To me, i'll pass on Elantra.

i heard excise and import duty waiver will end in dec 2013 for hybrid cars . it mean to say fully imported CBU hybrid will be very expensive.

thats why Honda will be manufacturing Hybrid cars locally with Jazz as the appetizer .

if you want and like fully imported japanese made Hybrid car , do consider to buy before Dec2013.

btw , i have booked a Civic Hybrid a few days ago. so hard for me to choose between the Teana 2.0L and this Honda City hybrid
as the Teana is about 15K more only.

Why you want to get an expensive no power hybrid car? How much this civic PONDAN car compare others hybrid?

Yes, I m insulting the hybrid civic as PONDAN car. I seeing civic as associated with speed and power. As traditional Honda civic manufacturing. But now, put some lower power engine, some heavy battery in a great car?

Tested the new civic 2012. Indeed it looks better in real than picture. Comfort level is good...nvh is betterthan my current city. Should be getting my civic by next week.

Coming Soon: Civic 2013

I know some of you say that the 2012 civic actually looks better in person, but I couldn't help hoping for a more refined version for 2013 model. Fingers cross.

For sure they will come out new design but that one would be like early 2013 for us market and i think will only come malaysia by mid of 2013.

After i tested, i think it does well enough as i driven the 8th generation before too...i still think the new civic is more pleasure to drive...of course not the look. But i believe look is always very subjective, as different people have different perception and judgement.

traded in my myvi and top up for down payment. they were willing to take my 06 myvi for 25500. top that with the 1.5k disc can consider sold my car for 27k so thats y i think getting the civic is affordable and thats also the reason i got poised to get this car~ branch is the old klang road one. got to be abit subtle about this cuz the one that gave this discount is a friend of my uncles. so i guess that SA only gave this cuz of the relation. but you can try to ask! gluck~
