Best value 2.0L is forte.  Give u d benefit of doubt (which ur alr most definite wrong), even ur forte is d best value for money NOW, what happens when u sell 5 yrs later? u gonna bleed like a girl menstruating kiddo.  money lost then can cover value gained now?  Value is perception, but real money lost when u sell then its d real thing.  Y are u so less intelligent?

Unless u keep ur forte for 20yrs, then i lose.  but not impossible looking at u driving a vios for 9 yrs. 20 yrs is just 9 X 2, + another 2. way to go dude!

If u compare even a vios and forte, industry players are not stupid to put a 1.5l car similar price to a 2.0l kiddo.

Bro ure not getting the point. Would Americans still buy the Camry if it came with 2 airbags and a 10 yr old gearbox and engine? But Malaysians are still doing that despite having to pay so much more. So u cant compare Americans and Malaysians and say both are the same. Yes both may support the same brand but they are not supporting the same specs at the same price level. If the current Camry came with the same specs as its American counterparts, even i might be tempted to get the Camry ( that is if i can overcome the poor design). 

if everybody in Mysia buys Vios,City,Civic,Avanza we will be like Bangladesh, Indonesia and Cambodia in no time..

fd2 was produced in 2006, most prob design in 2003 onwards. touch screen, navigation tat time was considered high end features.

if im brainless like the way u think and talk, even a 520i today RM330k does not come with a reverse camera.

yeh bro, i totally get your point. as you can see, i'm not saying that the camry or the civic ain't overpriced, they are in fact overpriced when compared to the korean marques, but hey kia and hyundai are represented by AP king Naza and  government owned SDAC... they are not playing on the same ground since day 1.

my argument is actually directed to those that are trying to convince everyone that the rest of the world had abandoned the japanese which ain't true at all.

I dont think anybody has said that the world has abandoned the Japs. The sales figures are proof of that. But what many ppl are saying is that the Japanese will become irrelevent in time if they dont keep up with the tech especially when not only the Koreans but also the Europeans are starting to better equip their cars in Asia while still offering affordable pricing.

Plus Cody did highlight upon one fact, both Hyundai and KIA are carried by government linked companies so who knows what sort of benefits they have when their cars are assembled and imported here? Not sure if UMW is the same, but it probably has some government links as well.

i would say yes. but, just.

the premium over the basic spec 1.8L is nearly 5k. and with all the gadgetry i.e leather seats (outside install maybe 2k average), push start button keyless entry keyless start ( another 2k? if install outside ), etc, however the best bit the hybrid is CBU which means quality should be top notch.
a new powerful engine is another new stuff but i dont quite agree with the price tag actually.

people keep asking about test driving the hybrid, but so far i dont see any branch offering it
