for SG car

Custom Only:  (RM16 + (S$1.2 x 2.4) ) x 22 = RM415.36 or S$173.07

estimated 70,000 cars/day so it is RM1,120,000 each day for the work of maintaining 8km highway. More than enough to buy a N35 GTR each day.

EP, DBS eSavings Plus, didn't need deposit when I opened an account. $2 fall-below fee was waived until end of the first month (I opened an account in the middle of a month).

Not sure about that. Did lta ever award the rights to collect and increase toll charges for 34 years to contractor who build the road or gantry?

Tax collection for a gov now become free gift to private company, how can that be good?

Reduce traffics? Don't think so, factor in the petrol cost and time using 2nd link ia about the same with new causeway charges, if there are people willing to go by 2nd link then it's just time that the rest will pay the cost to use causeway.

Corruption in broad daylight, LKY must be laughing you pay peanuts you get monkey. I say even we pay coconut we will still get monkey. Who will resist one R35 everyday for the next 34 years.

MY lousy contractor keep thinking I owed him big time for diging my back yard at my expense, should I send him back by MAS?.... fly kite him.

If there are other affortable alternatives such as MRT, ferry and pedestrian link along current causeway then I don't mind a hike in private car toll fee to increase public transport usage, I get faster clearance time for a fee but definately not in this robbery manner.

Can ask the JB police to rest for good, what's the point to catch small thieve in dark alley while allowing big robber operating 24/7 in front of Johor Istana... Oh.. the crime rate does not include bluntant corruption/robbery... ah I'm sooo forgetful near GE.

It will definitely reduce congestion within JB Town... at the expense of causeway travellers.

The whole thing of asking causeway users to bear the costs just doesn't make sense. I think they just wayang wayang only. Spread the news first, then you humble rakyat will complain like hell. I bet just right before the next GE, the BN government will come out with some almighty-we-humble-rakyat-should-be-thankful subsidy plan. And yes, subsidize their crony using our money.

most of the time, if Msia increase the toll, SG will increase it to the same value as well. like the current rate.

causeway $1.20 = RM2.90
2nd link, $3.20= RM7.50

so if msia increase the rate to $6.20, i scare SG will charge the equivalent sum as well.

I think Sg will match whatever Malaysia is charging for the toll, which there are doing currently.

For information, there are also motels that only renting out bed space for Sgd25 a day. But you got to stay with 7 other occupants inside the same room. Bathrooms is sharing basis outside. Soemtimes, if you are lucky, you can see ang moh lady change inside the room itself for you to "cuci mata"..... biggrin.gif
