When the Employment Pass application is filed online, it takes anywhere between 1 day to 10 days to receive the outcome notification from authorities.

When the Employment Pass application is filed manually, it takes anywhere between 3 weeks to 5 weeks to receive the outcome notification from authorities.

Simply google it and u can find the answer. I applying my EP manually and still waiting for the result before I tender my R letter. =D

For every apple product sold in the market, 0.0045 job is cut. So if you see 223 apple products, someone just lost his job. Ok. Forget about the ratio. Apple success comes at the expense of many job losses. While many are glorifying how tremendous their stock growth has been, they fail to see the  correlation of unemployment with the price. It’s a sad story.

It's the lag effect in job opportunities against population growth. While is good that capitalism catalyze technology advancement and allow labour skills to move up the value chain... It fails to tackle the lag effect. I worried for people in the tech industry that is not part of apple and Samsung product value chain.... Like Nokia

Give you some figures then you decide for yourself whether worth it or not.

Perodua Kenari 1.0 is $80,000. DBS 10-year loan @ 3.50% means you pay $900 a month on installment. Monthly parking at your HDB is $300, so that's already $1200 a month before factoring in ERP (toll), expensive petrol, insurance, maintenance, etc, can easily spend close to $2k/mth on your transport alone.

Survival of the fittest. Otherwise you end up with lots of complacent people who show no interest in improving themselves.

If the HR nowadays still use manual sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif .

ANyway, a HR personnel (quite a savvy HR personal I would say) once told me, if it takes more than 3 days, meaning something is wrong and MOM is investigating something about u. And better prepare for the worst. Of course, this is online filing scenario.

Hi guys, I just got an offer from SG company...
it is a IT sales post, the post required to travel but since i dun have car,
they promised to provide me 450sgd for transportation allowance.
Do you think is worth? I have to travel to whole SG to find my customer by my own.
I'm still thinking whether it worth or not. Anyone can advice me?
*
This MIGHT BE good for those who already have a car for family and personal used, the $450 can supplement the montly expenses.

Assumed you already have own car, so exclude tax, parking, insurance etc:

some sales people can clock 5000km or more per month.

Say your car can run at best 14km/l, that's 360L of petrol.

Say you buy cheap RON 92 (take it as $2/L) , that's $2 x 360 x 15% discount(if you have) = $612

every 10k you service your car once, say cheap cheap type $100, that's $50/month

say your tyre last you 40,000km, cheap cheap 4x $100/pc, that's $50/month

Just these extra running cost item alone cost you $712 / month.

$450 you get is not much unless your cut on the sales is really good to offset the difference.

cost of car dont have to be 80k lah... this will do
