my friend left sg for good, got RM8k/month. In sg, he is P1 qualified with S$8k/month. He said 8k in sg is nothing, room rent already 2.5k, 2k for others. left 3.5k but cannot live like a KING.

Can jalan2 and ask the banks lor.
Can also use transnasional website if you want. Cheapest I think.
Typically DBS lah. No harm getting 2 banks.
Raffles place money exchange on 2nd floor seems to give good rates. Do in bulk easier.
Food typical popular stuff for women is fish soup. wink.gif

For job applicants, you can 'proactively' call them if can. If you don't hear from them after 1 month, it means, balik kampung. wink.gif Try with another company.

Most people are here for money, safety and cleaner environment. Anything else is the same. It is your life. So, it is up to you to keep yourself entertained. Go play badminton la... I wait for you here... come come... wink.gif

Allo, its not all that rosy here lah. Discrimination is everywhere in any country. Perhaps less obvious here. I do feel it myself. wink.gif At times you have to be in the 'circle' to go up. Else, better go and find some other companies. wink.gif

Singapore is definitely less discriminatory compare to other nations. It a smaller case of course. May not be for you. But maybe for Indians, Pinoy and other nationalities.

Once you reach the age of 35-40, you will understand more about discrimination. It can be in many forms. So, you need to 'blend' in to fight them. Work smart. wink.gif

A human can be trained if they are competent enough. All these 'low talk' by the manager is a bunch of BS. wink.gif How capable you want the person to be? Do they still want to work for you if they are perfect? Betul ka? wink.gif Big Ego la... wink.gif

BTW, todays budget. Sg will reduce intake of Foreign Talents. So, this means it is going to be slightly tougher to come in. Good luck. wink.gif

Can't blame them making noise. Even the local PR here is feeling the heat from FT.

It is the employers fault who wanted to bring in lower pay people squeezing out the locals and PRs. wink.gif

I am not going to argue with you man. Then why is the Finance Minister doing this? You better go and talk to the Minister then. Maybe your economics is better. wink.gif

btw, I am just giving warning to those who's applying jobs here. So, don't be surprise if your replies from employers are late or non existence. You have to be proactive and beat the rest (lower salary) if you are desparate. wink.gif Hope this helps.

Reality bites. Sad case. Good luck. Try all the head hunters. And if you are a SPR, maybe can try to talk to the MP or CDC to see if there is any help. wink.gif
