err... you need to attend police academy to be a police, no? You sure you want to do that?

If you REALLY want to wear the uniform once in a while then try this "part time VSC"

"Senior Officers perform a minimum of 24 hours of duty per month while Police Officers (Junior) perform 16 hours.

VSC Officers receive an allowance of S$3.60 an hour by the Government, regardless of rank. "

I was considering to join VSC but don't know if they accept tattooed guy.

maybe some are introvert, the social circle is not big here so they find it boring. which is why I strong recommend everyone to join the Facebook group created by our JB KING.

What's your monthly budget for car installment, from there you can work backwards and see which car suit
your budget. 1st hand or 2nd hand.

Take notes on the coverage for vehicle insurance of
met with accident in Malaysia, your Malaysia car insurance NCD can transfer to Singapore side to lower the cost.

I used to have a Singapore registered car for 8 month before I sold it off, but I only pump petrol twice in Singapore island, the rest all pump in Malaysia hehe.

you can drive in Msia with your SG license as well. i find it a bit stupid to keep paying RM30 yearly to keep a license that you do not need.
*
it depends on how many cup of coffee you buy for Malaysia traffic police per year. it will easily double your annual cost of token of appreciatiation to the traffic police.

QUOTE(Aloong @ Mar 15 2012, 03:16 PM)
Can't really remember wats the original questions, but i beliv sombody wanted to buy HDB property, but got a Malaysia property.

Hence, i beliv was refering to transfer the property in Malaysia. An in Malaysia, if its more than 5 yrs i beliv no RPGT or very minimal if any. 5% on profit. Further, market value of pretty vague. U appoint the valuer and u tell the valuer dun value so high lor. Using bank's valuer (on the pretext of refinancing ur property) is also another way.  Banker dam kiasu / conservative in valuation. So if ur property profit RM100,000 at most u pay 5% = RM5,000 only. WIth that profit ur property should be about RM1m, RM5,000 cannot pay meh.

About transfer to siblings, not sure attract RPGT or not, but provided less than 5 years. But i beliv trasnfer to parent no nid.

On HDB compliance side I dun see any risk. U transfer ur Malaysia property to somebody, so tat u can buy HDB. HDB have a hard time proving whether u are genuinely selling to ur sibling/parent or 'transferring'. Anyway, so what if i was transferring as a gift to them? Most important make sure no property loan. How is Singapore to prove whether u are selling or transfering ur property in Malaysia? Are they going to talk to Malaysia government for a G2G initiative just to catch such things, and its so hard to prove that the transferee is holding the prop as transferor as a nominee?
*
the only chances they catch you is someone go report you I guess.

Hi guys, I just got the job offer in Singapore, will start work on first of June. But i am required to stay in Singapore, my sister works in Clark Quey and I will be working in Tai Seng, any suggestion which place is suitable for staying? What i mean is it has better safety, less crime ( I know Singapore is low crimes country, but there is still some place which is high rate of crime  laugh.gif ), and its near MRT. And lastly, cheap rental. THanks~~~~~ smile.gif

Well, it's relative lor ... compared to my colleagues here in my department my rank / pay is peanuts only. My boss (young 40's) sends his kids to dunno what private international school at $3k/month for each kid rclxub.gif

Besides, compared to people in this forum I'm probably in the oldest 10% bracket, so every year makan few %'age increment also would have higher pay than the rest of you young guys biggrin.gif

but I am really impress with your salary. 3k enough for me to survive at least 5 months here.

ah soon bak kut teh at taman sentosa, jalan wong ah fook curry fish head.
u can go for bukit indah, gelang patah is a bit ulu and not very convenient. i stil don't get it, why u wanna choose Tuas over causeway? causeway is always cheaper and more convenient if u work at paya lebar.
talking about safety, i would advice u to go for more new area. Austin, Tebrau, Setia Tropika, Bukit Indah area. most of those place more atas compare to other places. hence the property there are more expensive.
those bangla and indon cannot afford it hence making the place more secure and organized.
*
King how to go to the curry fish head.

QUOTE(Tigerr @ Mar 29 2012, 04:52 PM)
more atas area also mean a target place to the buglars as well. And the robbers knows that many houses are empty as people staying there are working in singapore and some are weekend house. Just another point thinking from different angle.

QUOTE(screwmescrewu @ Mar 31 2012, 09:59 AM)
Hey guys..
just want to ask for some advice regarding singapore's work permit
recently ive just got offered a job in one of the big 4 in SG. I then resigned frm my current job after i signed their letter of offer.
After 2-3 weeks they told me that my EP/S pass got rejected (even after they appealed) now Im left unemployed. I find this frustrating coz the reason given was Im not qualified for work pass. I hv 2 yrs working exp in big 4 here and acca + oxford brokes degree. Anyone had similar experience? If the application is rejected twice, does it mean they just dont want me to go in anymore? Can i apply other firms and expect a different answer from MoM still or is there a 'cooldown' period before I can change their mind?
Thanks for ur insights..
*
you cant change their mind, you can only wait until they change their mind. mean while, keep trying other job.
