what kind of room your friend renting wor?SGD2.5k for a ROOM?

Spend only 1K in Malaysia but lives like a KING? Suka suka maids already 1K, no?

Even assuming the expenses are correct, he actually has more than 3.5K left in SG because he has this big landed house in MY which he can rent out and offset against his rental in SG.

Also, if include taxation - the impact in MY will be much greater than SG.

Guys, i got one question to ask.

There are 2 type of form when applying PR right?

One is through working permit.

The other one is through wife sponsor (my wife is PR).

Bout the second choice, i heard that if ur wife sponsor u as a PR, u need to go for national service? If tat is the case, why not i go for option 1?

How do you guya apply jobs in spore ? by jobstreet ? or self approach to the company? Do both. There are also monster, jobsdb and lot more job recruitment sites

normally will spore company take in those graduates?  Depends on luck

If i were to apply to MNC like nestle in spore, would it better if i approach and email the nestle company myself? or i have to apply thru jobstreet depending on the vacancy? Just send in direct while spamming apply in job recruitment sites. You never know when there will be a sudden opening or a future opening which is not advertised yet.

Just curious. I am looking for a position in Singapore. My expected salary is SGD4500. But my friends told me that most of her friends request between SGD 3 - 4k. I am in the IT line and I am a J2EE developer. Do you think I am asking for too much?

6 Years. My current salary is RM 6600.

Are you sure? I have a few friends working in IBM. They are around 35 years in age doing support and they are getting SGD4500. They are also singaporeans. Are you sure that the market in Sg can pay SGD 6600?

That one I am not sure.

Because my friend is around 35. I am around 30. I really do not know the market in Sg. I dun think it is fair that companies are paying on a 1-1 (RM- SG) scale. Can someone maybe advise me the scale? How much lower should i ask for based on my current salary of RM 6600?

Of couse. You can do that. But you have to admit that mobility wise you are limited. I mean you know what I mean rite. I think people tend to be more warmhearted in My. Not saying that such ppl do not exist in Sg, but less. People are a little carefree over in KL. I agree that in Sg there are lots of things over. Definitely. But atmosphere wise, I dun think so.

also, got tau keh n politics friends yum cha, but mostly drink beer and eat "yeh mei" tok kok what business opportunities n politics out there...
spend time with families.....

here....boring, go home...wait..not my home...only a rented room....so, not much can do...
call friends out....susah also, after come out, cannot drink as later cannot drive pula...
drive around, petrol and erp not cheap leh....
see pretty gals  , but cannot go touch, later big trouble....

Kawan, am not here to complain. I just echoed the post that living in sgp is a bit boring only.

Perhaps, you are still young, you still can enjoy hangout in pubs, discos, makan makan here and there, shopping here and there. But me unker already, most friends here also busy after work. When come out, mostly end up in the pub but drinking is a problem again.....some times curi curi drink till 3-4 mugs but must be super careful and alert on the road... Am have no less friends here cari makan too, just that we all spread north, east, south, west and working time cannot predict, always last minute got this and that....

Backhome, i have a big garden to play with, and you ask me downgrade to potted plants here at the corridor? That is so different and i dont have time to take care all this as me a frequent traveller...I only stay about 50% here and the rest is either backhome or outstation....so, the question to rent a whole unit of hdb is really out of the question. Let me fully settle all my properties backhome, then, may be will seriously start thinking whether to get a private condo or not.    Like that means, i will be more committed to grow my root deeper in sgp.

Petrol here is expensive leh...around S2.20 now....If you can get something llike RM1.90 across the strait, sure you will feel here is expensive...   Parking also not cheap leh. But save time lar if driving and more flexible.

Actually do you guys sign up to any gyms in Singapore? What are the examples of gyms available and the pricing?

Public gym is ok but damn pack inside.

Woah 160+ is quite expensive. Does it usually comes in all-club access and is there a lot of Fitness First in the first place?

And btw where are the public gym usually located? Nearby HDBs?

actually,what i am worried is i leave a bad impression and image for them..they dun wan to hire foreigner,as hiring non-singaporean is slightly costly as compared to before...this is wat i know all that,correct me if i am wrong...

May I know if being offered a job at SG at around 4000-4500 SGD izzit considered a good offer? I am currently earning that amount in MYR now..

I am not underpaid in MYR tho, but I've fix expenses of around 3500 in MYR, so after deducting both sides expenses I must have substantial saving.. Thats the thing I am not sure how's expenditure in SG.. say I dont smoke, dont drink, dont club, dont gamble..

The thing is rental in SGD is quite high i reckon.. 800-1k SGD..
