use ur hdd vendor utility to check the health of the hdd first...then prepare for RMA together with the failure code the program generated.

I just realized something after staring at the pricelist. laugh.gif
The price of buying a 3TB Seagate drive is comparable to the price of buying 1TB x 3 during the pre-Thai Flood days.

1TB Samsung (HD103SJ) = RM169 (pre flood price, lowest was RM168 IIRC, but it was mostly RM169)

RM169 x 3 = RM507

3TB Seagate = RM539 (current price)
RM32 difference.

Not too bad isn't it?
To make it even sweeter, if you have a Maybank2Card AMEX, swipe during the weekend at Viewnet to get a 5% cashback. (If you haven't reached the RM50 cashback cap that is)
5% off RM539 = RM26.95

After cashback, the 3TB becomes RM512.05 rclxms.gif

The above is exactly what I'm gonna do. I specifically mentioned Viewnet since they don't charge anything extra for CC usage and they're one of the few shops that accept AMEX.

I don't recall the Samsung 2TB drive being RM250.. the lowest that I can remember was RM280 at viewnet.

See this old post:

Samsung F3 1TB 184-195
Samsung EcoGreen 1.5TB 250
Samsung EcoGreen 2TB 360

RM250 gets you the 1.5TB version then..
