Still Seagate changes its major Barracuda line to 1 year warranty sucks.
Seagate warranty is awesome, better than WD you have to pay for pickup service after 6 months if you opt not to send it to Singapore yourself.

looking for hd 204UI above one drool.gif


Added on April 11, 2012, 10:22 pmhd 103sj and hd 204ui is the most reliable hdd imo still use now and shinning tongue.gif

not really leh... mine total powered-on merely 5 days already got 1 bad sector, which is why i rma-ed and get the re-badge in return.

nope, bought it in Mar 2011 as data storage, so the exact total power-on time is only 5-days (as reported by Hard Disk Sentinel)

AFAIK, Seagate don't have free pick-up service, but its location for sending it is much nearer, thus cheaper
the turn around time also can be tracked via its website.

Actually there's some company that handles RMA of HDD. It's better to hand over to them to RMA for you if the RMA location is out of Malaysia.

seagate 1tb (internal) selling for RM319 at jb pc fair. ok to buy? any seagate models that should be avoided/known to be problematic?

cant decide between internal or external. i just want to store movies only. thinking external better, cause can unplug when not using, rather than letting it spin 24/7. what say you guys?

Get an external would be fine. Just put it in a safe place where you can't accidentally drop it.
