   My friend brought this HDD at PC fair 2012. Seller : Winz Tech Supply Ent (C0021789-B) Address : 22-2, 2nd Floor, Jalan 12/118A, Kuchai Entrepreneurs Park, Jalan Kuchai Lama. last time my former lecturer when to china, bought a hdd also.
come back malaysia, he felt something not right and then de-assemble the hdd only to know its fake. inside is just the same as ts picture. he used to laugh at people so stupid fell for this trick but he didnt expected to be cheated for same trick in china |

Hey, I saw one thread somewhere at the hardware or technical support section regarding a hard disk purchased by a forumer which does not have the same capacity as the box stated.
Yeah, he bought from the same Winz booth in pcfair. He bought 640gb, but turned out to be 500gb. You should report the case. |

I also got 1 customer came to me to do data recovery.. 3 times i tried fail than i open the case to take the hdd out to do hard mode.. Than i found this, ecxactly same.. The WD sticker is gold color.. Ecxact size is 3.76gb.. Poor customer.. Bought it from an IT shop in alam sentral 3rd floor

Sometimes you don't know until they issue this type of receipt. Next time decline to buy if they issue this kind of receipt. I think if this was bought at Pc fair, I think this matter should be highlighted. Imagine foreigners buying this. It will give a bad impression to Malaysia, Klcc convention center and Pikom. If you buy this at pasar malam then it is understandable but if you buy this at Pc fair this is suppose to showcase our IT industry here.

PC Fair memang sucks. I don't know who in the right mind would want to buy anything there. I ended up going to LowYat with my friends to buy stuff (Thunder Match/Sri Comp/All IT). Cheaper, and I trust that these stores are reputable resellers and distributors.
Nearly everything in the PC FAIL is fake. All those promoters ushering fake Beats earphones for you to try. You get what I mean la. Just boycott PC Fair, it's not like there's anything worth buying. |

I never been pc fair long time ago since 2004, u can buy gadget there maybe can la , because the pc fair compromise all shops outlet outside kl , which is bit expensive more than lowyat, some more they rent the place convention centre, that may expensive to rent ..

yes.. you can verify your hdd serial number... by using HD Tunes, WD diagnostic tools... you can go to the WD website to register your product... to see if the S/N match with your P/N.. and etc..

when i plug in and check using the WD diagnostic tools, it said it's unknown device and consists of 537gb... the reading speed and transfer speed is extremely slow also....
i went to the booth directly the next day after i purchased from the seller.... and i request the fellow's number also.. |

My condolence to TS friend... There are indeed some irresponsible reseller/distributor in PC Fair and most of them are selling stuff at retail price where you can get a better deal in Lowyat. However there are also times when you can get some nice deals which you couldn't get even in Lowyat, for example: HP Mono Laserjet P1102, Retail price RM 309 and lowyat selling at 299 sometimes even 280 but in PC Fair they're selling for 299 with RM 100 voucher so pick your deal but pls bear in mind only a few items in PC Fair is cheaper than what other retailer can offer.
My only advice is to go for the reputable reseller such as ThunderMatch, Makiwa, All IT, IT Gadget as you would have reference in case of something like this... |

pikom got security camera easy identify scammer.
u can take to court if you have time and money ^^ pikom can claim they do not hold responsibility for the seller. however did they not state in any of their flyers oradvertisement that they are not responsible for the sellers. thus falsifying information and advertisement. If pikom still resistant to help take the group down. send to media. still don't want help. than company reliability slowly dies out. |

Hey people! I wonder why some of the guy just saying other stupid or any bull shit that relate to buying cheap things then u deserve to get this. Hey come on, the problem here is not the problem on buying cheap or not. Think about it if you are the one facing this problem, what is your feeling? This is quite a serious issues to Malaysia, did you guy notice on it? Buying things in PC fair does not have any problem; the problem is the ethics of the merchant. Singapore PC fair also selling a lot of cheap stuff but why they don’t have this problem? Think about it people. I know this is funny, but buying cheap things didn’t do any things wrong!

Well, I should say I've heard a lot of TALKING here, so did someone actually complained to PIKOM and got a response? I am a little concerned about these matters because it has happened more than ONCE. I know about the PIKOM T&C that they're not responsible bla bla bla but what if it gets out of hand? So if more and more 'enterprises' sell these stuff at future PC Fair, is the organizer not going to do ANYTHING about it? Are we going to practice the typical Malaysian "Ayaaa ... they won't responsible one lar ... complain also no use one lor" mentality??
Looks like we as consumers should come up with our own T&C ... "More of fake goods and we will BOYCOTT the fair ... fare and square?" |

Should there be one, kindly advise the TS's friend to claim back his money, failure which, tell Winz that he will bring up the matter to Western D, plain and simple. |

Just google around and I found similar fake hard disk with the photo..mostly are china fake hard disk from online purchase...I believe the seller also got all this fake product from china and sell it here??? really need to becareful...
