Forgot to add this piling machine & piling concrete at the junction of Puchong Jaya-IOI to Sg-Besi Bypass & the U-Turn back to Puchong Jaya
I think it will be very high elevated viaduct on top of the existing Highway ramps

Sunway already served by Subang Jaya & Sri Setia Komuter stations liao. Probably in future, feeder buses to st 5 (Ss15) or st6 USJ 14)?

Currently I think there is also feeder buses to Kelana Jaya station and so do existing Yellow mini bus to IOI Mall from Sunway..nearby only

That's what Puchog community been saying since another Tesco is currently under construction at Bkt Puchong 2. Here's the progress of the new Tesco Puchong last mth..but not much progress since last taken dunno why ..probably due to the disputed Hindu temple in the far right in cricle kua

The land beside IOI Mall / ex-Esso is confirmed LRT Station. The piling there I suspect only based on the existing allignment as per the route map

3) Mydin (1 in Puchong Utama & another at Tasik Prima)
4) Speedmart 99 (1 in Bt14 & another at Puchong Utama)

Unker you from Puchong? hmm.gif

Anyway, I can't find the thread you replied me just now, so um..

yeah, I know about Puchong LRT development already, but assuming it doesn't exist yet, they needed to extend LRT up to Puchong, that's my idea nod.gif I myself haven't been to Puchong before, what is good there hah? Wanna go try, especially food.

that is static load testing. to know the soil bearing ratio. further to determine the size and depth of piling required.

My friends in QS (Quantity Surveying) told me those blocks are for safety test purposes. i.e to test if 99999999999kg can go on to the elevated platforms, or not.

I'm Putra Heights and I'm not against it. Yes there are people who are against it. They said they don't need LRT as they already have cars and it is easier to use car to travel. But there are people who are looking forward for the projects especially the young adults and youngsters. The oldies are against it.

LRT extension has a very big impact on public transport system in Klang Valley.

At 34 km (Ampang + Kelana Jaya line) and about 25 stations, the impact is equal to one new rail line.

Yes!

Imagine walking from your apartment to the LRT, just to go to office and back. Then, you can check out the pretty girls (up-close) in the LRT and around the area, going to work and back.

While in the LRT, you could play abit of games on your tablet/ read a book/ etc.

With the extension itself, you could practically go almost anywhere.

Awesome, man!

Unless the frequency and quality of the KTM is improved drastically, it is never a viable option for Malaysians.

Putra Heights is definitely an interchange station for Kelana Jaya and Ampang lines, but not sure how the arrangement works.

I hope to see single island platform, one side of platform is for Kelana Jaya line, another side for Ampang line, so that passengers can change train just by walking to other side of platform.

Thanks for your update biggrin.gif

It is clearly mentioned that there will be 11 stations..unless if there is any changes but the open day itself was quite recent.

Nope, i was referring to someone else's post in the property thread that the station next to tesco will not be built, "very confirmed" some more tongue.gif . Anyway, a news without credible source is rumour, so we'll wait till a real "news" came out. It's getting silly really over there in the thread, lol...

8/9/10 of which line?

If u mean Ampang line, Stn 8 is located at between the Rakan Muda & indian Temple opposite bdr puteri, Currently that area has been fenced-up wth blue fencing.. Not sure what inside as can't see.. However nothing at stn 9 (Puterui Mart/Tractor) & stn 10Puchong Pernana Complex

If u mean KJ line, 2 weeks ago the area between Wawasan school & USJ19 mall already barricaded wth plastic divider. but no progress at stn 8 & 10

what im saying is, will there add MORE cars when it completes? because by default, if now there is 35 new trains, and they dont ad anymore upon completion, then arrival will increase, train density fall and more time between trains.

As you can see, not all trains (4 Car) are on revenue service.

I say more 4 cars will be pressed to service once the extension is ready.

My friends in QS (Quantity Surveying) told me those blocks are for safety test purposes. i.e to test if 99999999999kg can go on to the elevated platforms, or not.

if the track is able to withstand 999999999kg, then even if asteroid hits the track and destroys earth, the track will be left standing.

The 1st LRT line from Puduraya till Bdr Tasik Puteri long-long time ago is an old KTM railway. I still remembered the line crossing Sg Besi old road opposite of Jln Pasar area near the Bomba/Post Office & the old Naza Office/showroom.

yes there is station for KTM....
but the LRT can go further to residential area....as the terminal are already there in taman melati...extend those line thru UIA, straight to batu caves, then to selayang.

maybe they will consider later, next extension project.

BTW, for those asking the current LRT Ampang lines before it was built? Well this is the 1950 maps of the KTM lines . Check the small bottom left box of the line showing from Ampang, Pudu Ulu, Salak South & Sg Besi. That's the Old KTM lines converted to part of current LRT Ampang line.

Prasarana themselves said end-2014 for opening.

That date on the signboard most likely refers to the completion of construction work.

After all, they still need to test the line for few months..

I am staying in Puchong Prima 2. Nearest station will be STN 11 opposite OTK.

Trees had been copped down along Persiaran Puchong Perdana.

Just wonder the LRT track will on the middle side of the road or beside the residential area, worry sound pollution level near the area when it fully operation, as the LRT really near to residential area.

Any idea?

Kampung from news, I saw that Prasarana will acquire 14 more 4-cars train for LRT-2 (KLJ line) with coupling of the old 2-car train. So is that mean that, No of rolling stock will become 35 (4-car previous order)+14(4-car new order)+ 17(4 car //(34) 2-car coupled train)= 66(4-car train)+1(2-car train).

Actually i am quite confuse with the previous order, was it 22 or 35 4-car train?? but i think it is 35 since i saw train no 70 since the new 4-car train start from no 36 or 37.

#1 - PR, which controls the Selangor state government approves the LRT extension as well. Under their state economic council and local councils (MBPJ, MPSJ) basically approved the construction.

#2 - Almost all contracts for the LRT extension had been awarded, except station 12 construction and the signalling portion of the project.

Piling works has began on the stretch between SS14 and SS18 along Jalan Jengka.

The once peaceful U-turn has is now home to 3 large slurry tanks. Now cannot go all the way down since the construction site has expanded in size

Geopancar (a piling contractor) bore-pile machine with a crawler crane next to it. All the streetlight, srubs and kerb has been removed for piling works. The place where the bore-pile machine is is where they will be a huge viaduct over the Kesas highway.

The opposite direction from the U-turn. They have started removing the kerb already.

Another U-turn to go to SS14 side. I think they are preparing the area for the piling machine. There are some diversion works on the way too.

Hmnnn Stn 10 & 11 delayed due to tender award... hmm.gif From what I see, more like nothing happening at all at stn 9 (Puteri Mart) & Stn 10 (Puchong Perdana) These two really problematic from what I see. Stn 10.. right at a very busy roundabout beside Perdana complex. No landbank at all & stn 9. fronting Wisma Tractor entrance & junction to Puteri MArt -.. Wondering how they gonna build the stn haha

STn 11.. soil cube survey works started liao.. So I dun think this is a delay hmm.gif

Also quoted from Qazreen91 @SCC Forum... Looking at the pedestrian bridge design, there will be a new bridge connecting to ST07, providing shelter to cross over from the station to the other side.

Well, in the case of Dubai Metro, companies are paying huge sums of money for the stations to be named after their mall or tower which the stations are located. tongue.gif

The second pic, that is Puteri Central side? I thought the ST09 should be across the road. The space looks limited here.

Due to limited space, ST09 will be build as island platform rather than side platform.

Puteri Central is the whole Biz area of Bdr Puteri from the phase one near Giant till the ending part opposite of Wisam Traktor. This Stn 9 is just right in front of Wisma Traktor entrance gate & also teh junction towards Puteri Mart.. It's just ~ 300M-400M away from Stn 8 -Rakan Muda hehe ..super near

i still don't understand wat's the big huu haa at jln sultan LRT.

Everyone seems to be welcoming the LRT in puchong, wat the fuss about the 'heritage' in jln sultan.

And before that is settle, the jln sultan route will never start work.

Actually like it or not, the Jln Sultan MRT will go ahead as it does not really require land acquisition.

Just to correct abit. Jln Sultan area is not for LRT but MRT smile.gif There is another thread here talking bout MRT progress.

The Heritage role is more politikus fiesco knowing that Pasarana already said they are not going to demolish that row. The more serious buiding that they gonna demolish is the UDA Ocean. This is also heritage role and previously having the front facade reserved wth the mall behind... THIS is BAD!! mad.gif

http://www.lrtextension.com/top-headline/l...ervice-coverage

The reason why Kg Sri Aman was omitted and shifted to lower density area is because there was opposition from residents from Kg. Sri Aman, so they had to build in Kg. Kuala Sg Baru. The location will also serve as LRT depot.

In that case, they should built a alternative road from lingkaran Putra prima across the river to kg kuala sungai baru so that resident in south puchong area can utilize that station

It's a circular loop-lah.. Ampang line extension ended at Putra Height and so do Kelana Jay extension also ended at the same Putra height stn. So the Kelana Jaya line for sure passing thru KL Sentral. For Ampang line, you need to switch at Mesjid Jamek to reach KL Sentral

honestly I don't mind losing a less prominent so-called heritage site as long as the stupiak gomen can solve the fukken traffic jam.

last time ayam telling my uncle about my traffic jam cool story, then he said "I know that feeling bro, in the 80's when ayam still young like you also KL already jam like this when they were building this and that. the gomen never managed to solve the traffic problem since 20 years ago"

They can only solved it by imposing expensive entry toll to CBD like Singapore and making parking ~ CBD expensive. + MRTS, LRTS, Komuters all running efficiently & timely

Not sure about that.

But if that interests you, aside from new station design and new track.......there will be new train as well. It would be driverless.

A) Not easy, as Sri Petaling is just east of Kinrara and Puchong which has far higher population and more pressing transport needs.

B) Low population in Putrajaya

C) There is half-completed monorail in Putrajaya that can fill the purpose

Hi Kampung, there is a construction going on in the middle of Federal Highway just at the Subang Airport Hwy interchange and the road between Subang Jaya SS15 and SS17. Are they LRT stops/stands?

On Tuesday I walked along the extension route for Kelana Jaya Line as far as I could (which is about to extension station 2) and got several photos of the line. Beyond station 2 there's not much going on apart from pier erection. Subang Jaya KTM has only preparatory works going on.

At station 1, they seem to be building a new access to the ramp into the depot. Not entirely sure how they will connect to the existing line as there is no prior provision for it as seen through Google Earth. Guess they will have to do some modification works here. Anyway, they are connecting the extension via the turnout provision in the viaduct that was part of the original line. Shall let the photos do the talking.

The existing guideway with extension works clear in the background.

This is on the other side of the depot. They are creating an entirely new access here, close to station 2.

"A construction worker was killed when he was sandwiched between a pole and a segmental box girder launcher on a Light Rail Transit (LRT) track under construction at the Taman Muhibbah People's Housing Project (PPR) in Puchong near here Thursday."

Gonna expect some delays due to this case...

I think in this case MRCB can claim extension of time from Prasarana, because they can say the delay is due to events out of their control, which is the refusal of the school to grant permission to work near their compound. Which brings to another point: who should be responsible to secure all right to work? Prasarana or the contractor?

Yala... we just want the extension to progress as per plan and schedule. The school really haih. But since schools belong to the Government (and the land too), I feel MOE should just interfere and grant permission to Prasarana to proceed with the work. Just afraid that some parties will politicize this issue if MOE interfere.

Just my 2 cents worth........Perhaps Prasarana can allocate a sum to the school board for realigning a new school arch entrance/exit, similar to SMK Sri Sentosa, which was done due to a new building block erected nearby.

It's a win win situation....the school get a brand new entrance gate and Prasarana gets what it wants.

The school also take these opportunity to request a new bigger land thats why they also don't give way, anayway MRCB really should start others work like building the station, i don't know will it be affected if the track pillar build by not follow the sequence means skip the few pillar first build the others then only come back to complete the outstanding.  sad.gif

Prasarana has already allocated new land for the school.

I think Government should penalize those contractor who slow down the work..

For example, first phase you have to reach at least 25% of works, otherwise penalize and cut the budget given to the contractor, and the budget loss shall cover by the contractor itself.. icon_idea.gif

sometimes the delay is not solely caused by the contractors. it might be caused by other parties e.g land acquisition, authority approval, etc.

btw, everyday i pass the construction area in front of ara damansara near NKVE subang exit (package awarded to TRC). bad traffic jam

The only problem facing MRCB in Puchong is just that Indian School beside the U-Turn flyover & Indian temple. Otherwise elsewhere there are no excuse for them to delay the construction. The school problem is not whole of Puchong vmad.gif

Different contractor.

The construction meant to run concurrently, so that's why it is divided into different contractors.

The reason of lack of progress in Puchong is because of the issue of a school.

I am not sure, though it is around Station 1 of the LRT extension project, plus there is a new switching area to the depot.

There was a rumour that there is one part of the area that has the capability to support future LRT line to Klang.

Hi Kampung, I believe that is actually station 2. The KLJ extension station 1 is at the opposite end of the depot I believe, near where it separates from the existing depot ramp.

Also, that should be the deck for the tracks. Not sure if there will be a cross-over there or a cripple siding (track for spare trains). The platform should be of island type further down where the tracks will flank the platform. In the early segment launching pictures you can see the rebar stubs for where the station will be constructed between the elevated viaduct.

mrtfreak from skyscrapercity here by the way.

The one beside Tesco Puchomg & Indian temple right? That activities by laying the support drain & electrical pipes also started long time ago in II side and I even saw they started this months ago opposite wisma tracktor. Thereafter they just laid it wth soil in both IOI Mall & Wisma Tracktor ...Therafter.. no pillars at all

Check my old post in May this year located opposite Traktor - Also looks like piling & also laying of drain pipes & electrical pipes.. therafter nothing:

im mean in at station IOI MALL (just before ioi mall wing).. the pillar of the track just like in kinrara.. have started to built.. now u can see the steel frame, it is quite higher than yesterday, but still abit hidden by the blue fensing, and the foundations for other pillars also already being built in ioi station.. but yes the progress is quite slow.. ioi puchong--> puchong prima line is critical area i think(maybe need alot considerations).. after the puchong prima station(11), the alignment corners towards putraheight...and it goes above a small ditch/lake, so we can see some contractors(bina puri banner on the excavators) doing some work there, like leveling and doing something lah on the land/ditch..it is just beside the desa impiana condo..other than that nothing lah i see also.... if finis by 2014 civil engineering work, still got ELECTRICAL&ELECTRONIC works and TESTING works... c lah 2015 boleh naik kot?? rclxms.gif

Progress of the Kelana Jaya line is very good indeed. The A package by TRC is quite ahead, and the B package of Sunway are also moving fast.

Ampang line extension is slower, but good to see the Puchong section finally gaining momentum, with the pier beginning to appear near IOI Mall.

It would be interesting to see the design of the USJ6 LRT station as it will incorporate the Sunway BRT.

That one would be messy for sure. Can imagine Ampang Line progress is slower as seen from the photos here.

Shall see whether I can drop by in mid-December and take a look around the areas as well. Have they started launching the segments that will join the existing line to the new extension track near Lembah Subang depot for Kelana Jaya Line? Its at the portion near the NKVE.

Attended a meeting with Prasarana and MPSJ discussing how work would be done and to minimise the negative effects on residents of USJ.

USJ 6 station would be a huge one.

Now they're digging further down the drains at USJ 6 and placing cement tubes to replace the traditional open drains.

There would be a separate session for the Sunway BRT.

MRT would take longer anyway since that project started later than the LEP. These extensions have been on the drawing boards for at least 6 years, so its not surprising that these have seemingly more progress considering that they have been discussing it back and forth for ages. So all the necessary clearances would have been approved as compared to the MRT which is relatively newer.

the near NKVE part they have erected the pillars but not connected just yet. I think they've stopped progressing for a month now. Since the one pillar that connects from the depot to the one crossing the nkve is experiencing heavy flood for the past few weeks (heavy rain). The road will be flooded and Im guessing they (contractors) are checking if the soil had sunken due to the flood.

The contractor somehow dropped the segment box while hoisting it up. Friend began taking photos of damaged equipment after. ohmy.gif

What I mean is that I hope the progress can ramp up.

Station 3 of the extension is the first station of the Ampang line extension that is in Selangor state. The first two stations are both in KL.

Yeah. Stn 12 already been postponed/stopped after heavy protest from kampung folks...good also as..no one can imagine a LRT stn in the middle of not so densely populated kampung haha.

Anyway...as per the photo, lotsa activities on the other side of the river (Sunway) compare to No activities at all after stn 7 onwards on Puchong side

in can be either way.. the populations can increase in kampung..let say in future thy development any malays reversed land there into a condo/watsoever(only imaginations, low density luxury condo in middle of serene kampung enviroment, kekekeke),sure all they bumi's will buy there mah..... maybe thts the goverment future plan...anyway the kampung folks heavily reject the lrt..i guess/sure they same old folks will come and use station 11/10..... so will add crowd to that 2 stations..mst probably will station 11... looking the station currently built in puchong...each station can almost walking distance to the residential place.. if station 12 is built..all kampung folks can use station 12...puchong prima residendent can use station 11. puchong perdana residents can use station 10... so no over crowd, illegal parking will reduce, coz all can walk to the stations.....i think they should built it... just like MRT..although some place got heavy protest..still teh project is ON... sometimes TRANSFORMATION comes with some sacrifice's too........ hope the plan on station 12 wil become reality... others tasek prima/putra prima/taman mas can choose with ever nearer..

in can be either way.. the populations can increase in kampung..let say in future thy development any malays reversed land there into a condo/watsoever(only imaginations, low density luxury condo in middle of serene kampung enviroment, kekekeke),sure all they bumi's will buy there mah..... maybe thts the goverment future plan...anyway the kampung folks heavily  reject the lrt..i guess/sure they same old folks will come and use station 11/10..... so will add crowd to that 2 stations..mst probably will station 11... looking the station currently built in puchong...each station can almost walking distance to the residential place.. if station 12 is built..all kampung folks can use station 12...puchong prima residendent can use station 11. puchong perdana residents can use station 10... so no over crowd, illegal parking will reduce, coz all can walk to the stations.....i think they should built it... just like MRT..although some place got heavy protest..still teh project is ON... sometimes TRANSFORMATION comes with some sacrifice's too........ hope the plan on station 12 wil become reality... others tasek prima/putra prima/taman mas can choose with ever nearer..

I am hoping they will extend the rail track across the river and doubled up as small road connecting Putra Height & Puchong brows.gif ...Toll free to USJ side rclxms.gif

I always thought it was end 2014/early 2015 once the construction stage had begun.

To be honest, the date has changed several times though. When first announced, it was toyed around with, then 2012, then 2014.

so it's safe to say that it will be completed early 2015 for the whole LRT extension, it will certainly benefit manys and reduce the number of single own vehicle on the road

i really hope they can complete ASAP as I want to move to area near to the LRT extension

Yeah, 2015 is a safe bet. Looking at how things are going, I might say even late 2014 for Kelana Jaya Line as that one has seemingly fewer problems than the Ampang Line extension. Am looking forward to avoiding having to go to KL Sentral to make a change just to get to Subang Jaya from PJ by train.

Any possibility if KJ line completes first, they can be in service earlier? Meaning don't have to wait until Ampang-Puchong-PH complete?

most probably they will try to complete it at the same time, even different timing they will start to do testing and get it up ASAP

2 years is quite a long way to go, really hope they can fasten things up

That's an awesome shot unig. smile.gif Looking at how things are going, I think that the Kelana Jaya line extension should meet the 2014 target. The Ampang line side though, is unfortunately held up by land issues. What to do? At least Subang Jaya and USJ residents won't need to put up with so much dust and inconvenience as the Puchong residents nor the traffic issues once the line becomes operational. Better to hope that all goes according to plan now and no slacking off since the deadline has been revised to 2015.

No news at this moment and if it ever to be implemented, it will be 1 or 2 decades from now.

The priority for Klang seems to be the KL-Klang BRT.

This LRT extention project will be halfway completed then George Kent, the major contractor (who has no experience or technical expertise and won the contract under dubious shadowy manner) will claim for cost overrun. Then there will be a stop work order. Government no choice have to pump more money in so that it can be completed. Estimated completion date 10 years. Typical of all their projects under corrupted BN

Technically, your estimation of 10 years is not far off. The project was talked about in 2006 and will finally be realised in 2015. So that's a good 9 to 10 years. Congratulations on predicting accurately! rclxms.gif

Somehow i'm not so sure if it will actually be completed in 2015.
You know lar, under BN, here want to songlap, there want to songlap.
Then stop work order becuase cost overrun.
Then gov got to come up with another few billion dollar here and there to amke sure it's completed.
In the end completion date maybe year 2020.

I understand, this is not a political thread.
But you must understand political parties decisions and politicies affect every aspect of your life.
You can run, but you can't hide from it.
I have been like you once, ignoring the political aspects of things becuase it dosen't concern me (i mean i'm not a crony, i don't get million dolalr contract)
But the more i grow up, the more i realise everything from your daily life, work, even love life has to do with political parties and its policies implemented.
If we don't care about political parties, its the same as you don't care about your livelihood

I.e you can run BRT every 1 or 2 minutes when conditions are possible.

Gov - win, croni - win, rakyat - LOSE!

Vote wisely

I understand, this is not a political thread.
But you must understand political parties decisions and politicies affect every aspect of your life.
You can run, but you can't hide from it.
I have been like you once, ignoring the political aspects of things becuase it dosen't concern me (i mean i'm not a crony, i don't get million dolalr contract)
But the more i grow up, the more i realise everything from your daily life, work, even love life has to do with political parties and its policies implemented.
If we don't care about political parties, its the same as you don't care about your livelihood
