QUOTE(limjanzen @ Feb 3 2015, 01:31 PM) MRT cars are slightly longer and can probably have one extra standing lane for people to stand in the middle. It will make it harder to leave on a full train though. In the LRT it will be very uncomfortable for anyone to stand in the center but still leaving enough space to move through with people standing at your left and right. So yeah I prefer LRT. Besides, the current station spec can fit until 8 cars length. |

QUOTE(limjanzen @ Feb 3 2015, 05:28 PM) It is different lah.MRT can carry much more passengers than LRT.MRT is more efficient than LRT. Yes MRT does carry more passenger than LRT. But you need to know that there is no definite definition of LRT and MRT. Some country could simply call an urban line as MRT even with low capacity. Look at Philippines's MRT... their capacity is far lower than our current LRT. Do your research. Kuala Lumpur's LRT have high capacity and could match with some MRT line around the world with higher frequency and longer train. There are some railway research reports already stated that Kuala Lumpur's LRT is actually mass rapid transport system (in other world could regard as MRT) by calculating its capacity. Also whether to use LRT or MRT depends on the budget, population, distant and lots of other consideration. So whether it is LRT or MRT it doesn't matter as long as it able to support the passenger crowd. But one thing for sure is that you can't really compare Kuala Lumpur with Singapore because Kuala Lumpur is not a high density city like Hong Kong or Singapore.... so it is not practical for us to do exactly like them. |

May I know if the Ara Damansara LRT is close to Oasis Ara Damansara/Citta Mall? I did try the LRT but I only see this Evolve mall when it stopped at Ara Damansara station. Not sure if I missed those that I mentioned.
