I was running LinuxMint LXDE with qBittorrent on one of my old machine Dell Optiplex GX240 as download center, currently testing the ASUS RT-N15U, limit the down/up load to 450KB/s each, certainly torrented more than 9GB/day and I don't feel any slow down, yet cool.gif

Apply through the web. Looking forward for the 1 month free subscription. I have a feeling I still need to call TMnet to disconnect my old network.

currently i using normal package , come with 1mb speed... download speed normally 110~120mbs ..
let say if i apply Unifi VIP5...
** at early before limit 60GB : my speed will average around 4xx~5xxmbs)
** after reach limit 60GB : its my speed will downgrade below then 100mbs ?? or just average 100~200mbs ??

This is unknown yet. From previous Unifi press statement, they are still working on the options that may include paying more for extra download volume as alternative to speed reduction. I would prefer able to choose my option instead of reducing my speed to 512kbps.

Hi All,

Connecting Unifi line to Tel distribution box.
=========================================

1. My original land line is connected to a central distribution box (those small yellow matchbox size thingy) in the ceiling/roof, which then span/splits into 3 locations around the house. Upstairs, downstairs & my master room.
This means, that when someone calls my old TM line, 3 phones ring at the same time. (alarm system is also paired with the main phone line outside)

2. If I disconnected the existing TM/Streamyx copper line account, my current 3 phone lines (and the phone jacks in the walls) will be white elephant.

3. Right now, with Unifi providing only one phone line, and in a double storey house, we either run/up and down when the phone rings. Not sustainable.

4. I need to connect the Unifi phone line to the central box in the roof to enable simultaneous ringing of the phones already installed around the house.

5. I have problem doing this, because the new Unifi phone line originates from the new Unifi box located upstairs and we need to run up whenever the phone rings.

6. I am writing to see if anyone has any experience with this issue, and what they have done about it. Any lessons learnt shared will be much appreciated.

I have called TM to ask if my phone line cabbling can be paired from outside to my Unifi box to enable to simultaneous phone ringing and they said its not possible. Kindly share your exepriences. Thank You

looking at the history of TMNET, a bandwidth cap is more likely to happen. their business model is not like YES or P1. charging customers who use more data will only make them look bad.

ur unifi now is on fiber right?

the existing tel line can be used, but u have to disconnect the main cable from outside/pole at the "junction box" on ur ceiling/roof.

after that, just connect tel cable from unifi modem to 1 of the tel wall socket which ever nearest.
use splitter if u want to use telephone near the modem.

all other tel wall socket now can be use for ur telephone.

hope this help. smile.gif

Or you can buy more DECT phones and register them to the same base.
